Story
Coco is an adventurous dog who has seen it all. He has been a loyal protector from our walks during desert sunsets to winter hikes with moose and fox. He loves walks, fetch, tug of war, dog parks, swimming in rivers, and sunbathing. He loves when kids come up to pet him, and he enjoys time with other dogs too. We have been blessed to have him for seven years, but we no longer have the time or space to give him the adventure and play he deserves. We hope to find a home where he will have space to roam, or plenty of active play time with humans and dogs.

Story
Indiana BonesMaleD.O.B. 10/26/2025Expected Full Grown Weight: 50-60 lbsBreed: German Shepherd mix Hi, I’m Indiana Bones — adventurer, professional goofball, and full-time puppy. I’m a curious, silly, and super sweet young pup who’s still discovering the world (and occasionally trying to chew it). I get along great with other dogs, kids, and even cats — though I really want to play with the cats, and I’m still learning that they may not share my enthusiasm. Because I’m still a baby, I’m working on my manners. I’m learning not to be mouthy, improving my leash skills, and figuring out this whole potty-training thing. I’m crate trained and do really well in my crate, which I’ll need when left alone for now since I’m still so young. I currently eat three meals a day (growing explorer energy!), and I usually wake up once or twice at night for quick potty breaks. I’m a busy boy who loves being outside, romping around, and playing with my sister. My favorite treasures include non-stuffed plush toys (especially squirrels!), chew toys, and anything that squeaks. When my adventures are done for the day, I turn into the cuddliest little guy and love to snuggle up for naps and bedtime. I enjoy meeting new people and dogs, but I’m still building confidence in new situations. I’ll do best with someone who’s excited to help me socialize, grow my confidence, and guide me as I become the brave, well-mannered dog I’m meant to be. If you’re looking for a fun-loving puppy with a big heart and even bigger personality, I might just be your perfect adventure buddy. If you are interested in meeting Indiana Bones apply to adopt him at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $395. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2634943##

Marion BarkwoodFemaleD.O.B. 10/26/2025Expected Full Grown Weight: 40-50 lbsBreed: German Shepherd mix Hi, I’m Marion Barkwood — your future adventure buddy with a big heart and lots of energy. I’m a sweet, loving, and active puppy who’s always ready to move, play, and explore. I get along well with other dogs, kids, and even cats — though I should warn you, I really want to romp and play with the cats, whether they’re ready for it or not. I especially love chasing the kitten around the house (all in good fun!). Because I’m still young, I’m learning my manners. I’m working on not being mouthy or chewing things I shouldn’t, and I’m still polishing my potty training skills — but I’m doing really well! I usually wake up once or twice overnight for potty breaks, which shows I already understand that my crate should stay clean. Speaking of crates, I’m crate trained and do great in one, and I’ll need to be crated when left alone while I’m still a puppy. I’m a high-energy girl and, thanks to my breed, I’ll grow into an active dog who needs an equally active family. I currently eat three meals a day, but I’m slowly transitioning to two as I grow. My favorite treats are all of them — but hard chews are my absolute favorite. I love non-stuffed plush toys, chew toys, and I’m just starting to discover how fun it is to chase balls. When I’m not zooming around, I love going for car rides, being outside, and romping with my brother. I’m a bit of a nervous girl when meeting new people or animals, so I’ll need someone patient and committed to helping me socialize and build confidence in new environments. Oh, and I will need to be spayed when I am old enough. If you’re looking for a loving, energetic puppy who’s eager to learn and ready for lots of adventures (with a little reassurance along the way), I might be the perfect match for you. If you are interested in meeting Marion Barkwood apply to adopt her at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $395. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2634944##

Story
Meet KrissyKrissy is a stunning 45 year old German Shepherd weighing about 65 pounds. Shes an intelligent, loyal girl who continues to impress everyone who spends time with her.Krissy already knows sit, down, crate, and shake, and she loves interactive playespecially chasing balls. Snow days are a favorite, and she can happily be found digging around to uncover a ball hidden beneath the snow. Shes also quickly fallen head-over-heels for our kennel manager, which speaks volumes about her ability to bond once she feels safe. When you first meet Krissy, she may bark as a way of letting you know shes unsurebut dont let that fool you. A few kind words (she loves being told shes a good girl) and shes wagging her tail and warming up fast. With calm, confident handling, her sweet personality shines through very quickly. Shes looking for a home that understands the German Shepherd breed and is willing to give her the time and space to continue building trust.Once she feels secure, Krissy is affectionate, playful, and deeply devoted to her people. Shes the kind of dog who wants to be someones loyal companionand will repay patience with unwavering love. Check out the attached video (at end of pictures) to hear her backstory and get a glimpse of how truely special she is. She has quickly become a kennel fav.Krissy is ready for a fresh start with a family who will see not just where shes been, but who she truly is. Apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Murphy was known as Sean at the shelter at San Antonio. He had been injured by a car and was taken to the shelter where he was placed on the euthanasia list after a few short days. He didn’t have much hope left and had given up. After seeing the sadness in his eyes, we knew we had to help. He was transported to Ohio and was seen by our orthopedic surgeon who determined he had to lose his long beautiful tail, but there was also a good chance he would need a femoral head ostectomy to correct his hip and leg. Because a small amount of healing was noted, he was given 3 weeks to determine if his body would heal enough on its own and we could spare him the pain of surgery. That turned out to be the case, so this sweet guy only lost his tail. Murphy is doing wonderfully and continues to heal and gain strength. He has been cleared for adoption and is hoping to find a very loving family to give him the life he deserves. Murphy is a shepherd mix. Best guess by the vet is a mix with Chow Chow because of his tiny, flopped over ears, but we aren’t sure. If you would like to meet this lovebug, please submit an application on our website, canaananimalsanctuary.org.
