Story
Male or female? Male Approximate Age: 5 Breed: German Shepherd Weight: 80 lb Any impairments: None Potty trained? Yes Crate trained? Yes Good with other dogs? On a case by case basis Good with cats? No Good with kids? No kids younger than teens Commands known: Sit, down, heel, come, left and right when running Needs fenced in yard? No Need another dog in the home? No Location: Galena, OH Energy level (high/med/low)? Med   Bio: Woody is your quintessential German Shepherd — loyal, intelligent, and eager to bond deeply with his person. He’s around 5 years old, weighs about 80 pounds, and is ready to find his forever home. He came to Speak almost two years ago after his previous owners could no longer provide the life he deserved. Since then, Woody and his sibling, Hayes, have been in foster and boarding care. While it was once thought the two were bonded, Woody has shown he’s ready to thrive on his own. Woody takes a little time to warm up to new people — it took about two weeks for him to trust his foster fully — but once he does, he’s incredibly loyal and affectionate. He loves to follow his person around, and if you stay still long enough, he’ll curl up nearby to keep you company. He’s a bit under socialized with both people and other dogs, but he’s made great progress. He’s done wonderfully being separated from his sibling and now enjoys a more home-like environment. Woody has minimal reactivity when given calm, clear communication. Like most Shepherds, he’ll bark at strangers behind a fence or door, but it’s short-lived and easily managed. Woody craves structure, consistency, and plenty of head rubs. He enjoys chewing on sticks and toys but isn’t too interested in chasing balls or flirt poles. His previous foster ran with him regularly. He also LOVES to swim and would happily spend the day splashing around. Woody would do best with someone experienced with German Shepherds who can provide clear leadership and an active lifestyle. A home with space to roam and explore would make him happiest. He’s untested with cats and small animals, and while he might do well with a calm, established female dog, proper introductions will be important. Training Perks:Woody comes with three free 1-on-1 training sessions from Wolfman’s Canines, plus a $1,000 training voucher toward a 4-week Board & Train program — which also includes three additional follow-up sessions! Woody is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines/prevention and being fostered in Galena, Ohio. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent companion with a steady heart, Woody might be your perfect match, please complete an adoption application found at www.speakfortheunspoken.com/adopt ##2248125##

Male or female? Female Approximate Age: 5 Breed: German Shepherd Weight: 70 lbs Any impairments: None Potty trained? Yes Crate trained? Yes Good with other dogs? On a case by case basis Good with cats? No Good with kids? No kids younger than teens Commands known: Sit, down, stand, come Needs fenced in yard? No Need another dog in the home? No Location: Galena, OH Energy level (high/med/low)? Med   Bio: Hayes is your classic female German Shepherd — intelligent, devoted, and full of love once she feels safe. At around 5 years old, 70 pounds, she’s ready to find the person she can finally call her own. Hayes and her non-bonded sibling, Woody, were surrendered by their previous owners. Since they arrived at Wolfman’s Canines in July and have made incredible progress through structured training and socialization. It took about two weeks — plus a little patience and some mild behavior meds — for Hayes to trust her foster, but once she did, she became an affectionate little shadow. She’s incredibly loving and happiest when she’s right by your side (think “stage 5 clinger,” but in the sweetest way ). She much prefers human companionship over hanging out with other dogs. Hayes doesn’t have a ton of toy drive but will play a light game of fetch now and then. She hasn’t had direct introductions with unfamiliar dogs yet, though she’s done fine seeing them through a fence. With proper communication, she could likely coexist with a calm, established male or even a young puppy. She’s crate trained and comfortable in long-term confinement, though a sturdy crate is recommended at first while she settles into her new home.  Hayes walks nicely on leash and loves following her person around the 10,000 sq. ft. training arena. She thrives on structure, affection, and consistency —she absolutely LOVES to swim! ‍ Hayes would do best with someone experienced with German Shepherds who can offer patience, leadership, and an active lifestyle with room to run and roam. She’s untested with cats and small animals. Training Perks:Hayes comes with three FREE 1-on-1 training sessions from Wolfman’s Canines, plus a $1,000 training voucher toward a 4-week Board & Train program — which also includes three additional follow-up sessions! If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’ll be your shadow through every adventure, Hayes is ready to meet you.   She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Story
beautiful ms boba was a great addition to the home. She is a strong Parvo survivor. Ive had her since 5 weeks old and she is now 8 months. She is your typical German shepherd. Absolutely full of energy. Sadly. I can’t give her all of her exercise and structure that these dogs need. She is having some difficulty regulating all that energy at home. If she had a new home with a program (and a massive backyard) she would excel. Shes the smartest dog Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting. I would describe her as. Loyal, Smart, intelligent, fast, reactive, adorable, fearless, and extremely playful.

Story
Coco is an adventurous dog who has seen it all. He has been a loyal protector from our walks during desert sunsets to winter hikes with moose and fox. He loves walks, fetch, tug of war, dog parks, swimming in rivers, and sunbathing. He loves when kids come up to pet him, and he enjoys time with other dogs too. We have been blessed to have him for seven years, but we no longer have the time or space to give him the adventure and play he deserves. We hope to find a home where he will have space to roam, or plenty of active play time with humans and dogs.

Story
Indiana BonesMaleD.O.B. 10/26/2025Expected Full Grown Weight: 50-60 lbsBreed: German Shepherd mix Hi, I’m Indiana Bones — adventurer, professional goofball, and full-time puppy. I’m a curious, silly, and super sweet young pup who’s still discovering the world (and occasionally trying to chew it). I get along great with other dogs, kids, and even cats — though I really want to play with the cats, and I’m still learning that they may not share my enthusiasm. Because I’m still a baby, I’m working on my manners. I’m learning not to be mouthy, improving my leash skills, and figuring out this whole potty-training thing. I’m crate trained and do really well in my crate, which I’ll need when left alone for now since I’m still so young. I currently eat three meals a day (growing explorer energy!), and I usually wake up once or twice at night for quick potty breaks. I’m a busy boy who loves being outside, romping around, and playing with my sister. My favorite treasures include non-stuffed plush toys (especially squirrels!), chew toys, and anything that squeaks. When my adventures are done for the day, I turn into the cuddliest little guy and love to snuggle up for naps and bedtime. I enjoy meeting new people and dogs, but I’m still building confidence in new situations. I’ll do best with someone who’s excited to help me socialize, grow my confidence, and guide me as I become the brave, well-mannered dog I’m meant to be. If you’re looking for a fun-loving puppy with a big heart and even bigger personality, I might just be your perfect adventure buddy. If you are interested in meeting Indiana Bones apply to adopt him at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $395. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2634943##
