Story
Bronco was my aunts dog she passed away a little over a year ago and I've had him since. He's collar trained and full of energy he truly just wants a ball to chew on and a person to love . He's fine with other dogs outside of the house but much more selective in house which is my biggest problem right now he just doesn't mesh with my other dogs . I just want to find him a home that will love him the way my aunt did.

Story
Dog's Name: Phoenix Gender: Male Current Age: 15 months Current Weight: 50 lbs. as of Aug. 1 Breed: German Shepherd Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: Unknown. The neighbor’s dog greets him through the fence, and there is only tails wagging. Cat Friendly: Unknown Kids: Unknown Apartment Friendly: No Fence Requirements: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise. Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home / Adopter: Phoenix would do best with an adopter who can give him plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. He loves spending time outside and watching the world go by, He walks well on a leash and is building confidence in unfamiliar surroundings. Phoenix is comfortable spending time in his crate, making him a nice match for someone who appreciates a dog who enjoys companionship without needing to be by their side every minute. When faced with storms, while not his favorite, he puts himself in his kennel and calmly stays there until the storm passes. Likes: Loves to collect sticks. Currently, his favorite toy is a squeaky ball. While he behaves, he is working on manners, and he loves to be “chased” when he is being coaxed to come in. He seems to be independent in that he is not a Velcro dog. One of his favorite antics is taking his toys outside until there are none left in the house. He also likes to announce his presence to the world when going outside. Dislikes: None He prefers the floor over furniture. He does not surf the counters and expects you to keep his water bowl full at all times. He makes a game of coming into the house before he is ready, and his foster swears he has a grin on his face when they’re trying to coax him in. Phoenix is an independent, playful guy who loves collecting sticks, carrying his toys outside, and keeping an eye on the world around him. He’s come a long way in foster care and is learning to enjoy affection more each day. His goofy “catch me if you can” game when it’s time to come inside is just part of his charm. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and the dog will be current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. ##2733996##

Story
🖤 Looking for the Perfect Forever Home – Meet Canela 🐾Canela is a beautiful 6-year-old German Shepherd. She came into rescue after her owner’s work situation changed, leaving her spending long hours alone outside. Because she loves people so much and wanted attention, she began jumping the 4-foot fence in search of new friends. A kind neighbor kept her safe until her owner made the difficult decision to surrender her so she could find a home where she’d get the time, love, and companionship she deserves. Here is what her foster writes about Canela:"Over the time we’ve fostered Canela, we’ve fallen in love with what an amazing dog she truly is. She is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and happiest when she’s with her people. She loves to cuddle, sleeps in bed with us, and proudly carries around her stuffed animals like they’re treasures. Canela is smart and eager to learn. She rides great in the truck, walks well on a leash, and enjoys running in a fenced yard. She can comfortably stay in her own room for 8+ hours if needed, although a home where someone works from home would be a wonderful bonus. She has interacted well with neighborhood kids and can do well with other dogs when given slow, proper introductions. She is not cat-friendly and has a high prey drive, so she’ll need a cat-free home. She can be food aggressive, so she should always be fed separately."Canela is spayed and up to date in vaccines. Canela has pannus, a chronic eye condition common in German Shepherds, that is easily managed with a simple daily eye ointment. She is very compliant to get that done!Canela would thrive in a home that offers:🐾 An active lifestyle with daily exercise and mental stimulation🐾 Structure, consistency, and continued training🐾 A fenced yard to safely burn off energy while continuing to work on recall and leash skills🐾 Someone with German Shepherd or other working breed experience🐾 Lots of love and time with her peopleIn return, you’ll have one of the most loyal, loving, and devoted companions you could ask for.We know the perfect family is out there for this sweet girl. Apply to meet Canela at ricopetrecovery.org. The adoption fee for Canela is $200.

Story
Meet Harley Quinn! ❤️Harley Quinn is a sweet, affectionate 5 year old shepherd mix looking for someone willing to give her the structure and guidance she hasn’t had before. She’s incredibly loving, enjoys soaking up the sun, and has a wonderful balance of energy—she’s happy to play when it’s time to play, but she’s just as content lounging around and relaxing.Harley does best with clear direction. When she’s unsure of what’s expected of her, she can become anxious, but she responds very well to calm leadership, routine, and positive reinforcement. She’s eager to connect with her person and wants to do the right thing—she just needs someone to show her how. Harley is very smart and treat-motivated, so with an experienced owner, she should be very receptive to training. She’s potty trained and crate trained. She does well on a leash with everyday handling and rides well in a car.Harley is excellent with other dogs and has a gentle, nurturing personality around them. She almost has a “mom” energy, often choosing to calmly coexist rather than create excitement. She has not been tested with cats or children, so slow, thoughtful introductions would be recommended.Harley will thrive with someone who understands dogs, is patient, and is committed to continuing her training and building her confidence.Apply to meet Harley at ricopetrecovery.org.The adoption fee for Harley is $200
