Story
Sadie is an approximately 2 year old German Shepherd brought into rescue from our local animal control. Sadie came in after she was pulled from a home that was not treating her so well. She is still gaining some of the weight back as she came in very skinny and was so relieved when Paws Across Pittsburgh offered her a second chance at becoming healthy. A second chance was all she needed! Sadie is very trainable, true to the German Shepherd breed, and has completed most of a local puppy course and is doing well with basic commands. She has continued working on leash skills and is making progress. She's crate trained, potty trained, and overall will make an excellent companion who can match her zest for life. Training is going to be integral to her upbringing as a good canine and will require more of it for her next home! She has been through Star Dog Training puppy class and preference will go to those committed to sticking with her routines that she's created. Sadie would also prefer an adopter that has experience with the breed as she has a high prey drive that will need worked through. So no small animals or cats in the house for this girl! She has been around other dogs, but would be best as only dog in the home due to her current training needs because she can be a bit much towards other dogs. She has been friendly around people and even great at the vet, but has not been exposed to children. Overall, Sadie's perfect home would have an owner committed to having a lifestyle that embraces training into her every day routines and that is active to be the most successful and happy pup she can be! Sadie is spayed and up-to-date with all of her vaccines and ready to go! Are you her next loyal companion for life? Apply for her now! KL #16182 ##2034525##

The advertising for the very famous Stetson hats describes the product as "meticulously designed and handcrafted in Texas; the name signifies quality and durability." Hey, the same can be said about lil' ol' me!! I also am a native Texan :) and with this genetic bonanza, no wonder I am such a handsome guy that has the makings of a pawsome adventure buddy ready for whatever you've got planned for the day!! At 6 months young, I weigh in at a healthy weight of 28lbs of happy happy puppy. I get along with all of the dogs, but would be happiest with another easy going, confident kind of dog. I am loving and a great companion. I love my daily walks and swimming in the river! I have a medium energy level and a very zen aura. Foster Mum says that I am the bestest boy and will most likely be around 45-50 pounds when I get fully growed up :) I am working on my house and crate training but walk well on and off leash. I am a "Good Boy" and try to make my Foster Mum happy. If you have been waiting for a kind soul to fill your life with my adorable good looks and happy demeanor, I am your guy!!

Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Yogi - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Yogi is with a neighboring rescue that is having a family emergency. If you would like to adopt Yogi, we will pull him into our rescue to complete the adoption. Yogi is a handsome 8 month German Shepherd who weighs approximately 40 pounds. Yogi came to them from a rural shelter with what they thought were new leg injuries from being hit by a car. After xrays, it was determined his broken front and back leg were actually old injuries that had completely healed unfixed by his previous owners. The pain he must have been in as a young pup is heartbreaking. They did an FHO to fix his back hip, but his front leg has a definite 90 degree angle. He is not painful at all and can run and play still. The surgeons recommended for them to amputate his front leg but he he actually uses it so they said no. Yogi is extremely affectionate with people both tall and small and also with the other foster pups. Although cats are unknown at this time. Yogi is an happy active boy with a moderate energy level that still enjoys running, playing and adventures even all that he's been through. He is also housetrained so he's ready to get to all the fun stuff!! This incredible boy is ready for a loving family of his very own. One with kind words, gentle pets and some fun filled adventures...could it possibly be with YOU?!!!

Story
We are excited to introduce Pixie, a wonderful female dog who has recently weaned her puppies and is now ready to find her forever home. Pixie is a sweet and gentle soul with a heart full of love to give. Pixie is looking for a loving home where she can be cherished as much as she deserves. Pixie is a bit shy at first, but she bonds quickly with those who show her kindness and patience. Once she feels comfortable, she becomes incredibly loyal and affectionate. Pixie loves to snooze on the shelter couch and spend time with her shelter person. She enjoys quiet moments and is content to be by your side, providing companionship. Despite her initial shyness, Pixie quickly forms bonds with her caregivers. One of Pixie’s favorite places is the shelter couch, where she can relax and take a nap. Pixie’s loyalty and loving nature make her an ideal companion for someone looking for a devoted friend. Pixie would do well in a calm environment where she can build trust at her own pace. Pixie`s new family will be rewarded with a loyal companion who will be by their side through thick and thin.Pixie`s needs a house where her family is home more than out and about. Story
Hello! I am Nyla, such a sweet girl! I was left here at the shelter when my owner didn`t want me anymore. The staff have found that I am very affectionate, I like to give hugs, and I enjoy going on nice walks outside. I am crate trained and I know sit. I like toys (tearing them up and chasing them of course!) and enjoying a tasty treat. I am a wiggly girl when I am happy and very loving too. If you are looking for a best friend, I`m definitely the one for you!
