Diamond is an eight year old Shepherd mix who was adopted from Pet Friends in 2017, but returned to us recently when her family was no longer able to take care of her. While she may considered a "senior dog based on her age, she looks and acts much younger. She enjoys playing fetch and going for walks but those walks don't need to be for miles and miles and the fetch sessions don't need to be hours long. After some exercise, Diamond will be happy to sit with you and get a good scratching. When she was returned, we weren't told much about her other than she is dog reactive, so would need to be in a house with no other dogs. Now that our volunteers have spent some time with Diamond, we have learned that she knows some basic commands, walks ok on a leash but will pull hard, especially at the beginning of the walk, and really enjoys being with people. Diamond is a perfect name for her, because she is a gem and is going to make someone a wonderful companion, particularly if they want a dog that has grown out of its puppy stage, yet still is full of life.

Meet Boone! Boone is a 6-year-old Shepherd mix weighing about 50 pounds with a sweet personality and a love for the outdoors. Boone came to us after being found as a stray, and he quickly showed us what a wonderful dog he is. He is friendly, affectionate, and incredibly food motivated, which makes earning his trust pretty easy! He loves spending time outside, enjoys walks to the play yard, and every now and then will break out into the cutest zoomies. Once Boone decides you’re his person, he is all about belly rubs and soaking up attention from his favorite people. Boone appears to do well with other dogs. We are still unsure how he does with cats. Because of his size and energy, he would likely do best in a home with older children who are comfortable around dogs. Boone is looking for a family who will give him the love, stability, and companionship he deserves. Meet Rose Rose is a beautiful 6-year-old female German Shepherd who came to us as an owner surrender when her previous family had to move and couldn’t take her along. Despite the change, Rose has remained incredibly sweet and gentle. She loves going for walks and would make a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys getting outside. Rose is fully house trained and has great manners in the home. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but give her a little time and she warms up into a loving, loyal friend. Rose is dog selective, so we do require meet-and-greets with any dogs currently in the home to ensure a good match. We’re not yet sure how she feels about cats, but we’d be happy to cat test her upon request. Tilly needs an experienced adopter who can give her plenty of exercise and keep her busy. She does not walk well on a leash, but she does obey commands, is housebroken, and is a great snuggle buddy!
