Story
Meet Slim – Your New Adventure Buddy! Slim is a sweet and spirited 1-year-old (estimated) German Shepherd mix weighing in at 60lbs. She’s the perfect blend of energy and affection—ready for hikes, swims, and snuggle time on the couch. Whether it’s a good chew toy or a run through the yard, Slim is happiest when she’s active and by your side. This smart girl is already house and crate trained, and while she’s not currently living with other dogs, she’s shown friendly interest in her canine companions at the shelter. Slim can be a bit shy at first, especially around older men or loud noises, so she’s looking for a calm and patient home—preferably with older kids and someone who has experience with shepherds or similar breeds. If you're looking for a loyal, outdoorsy friend who’ll stick by your side through every trail and cuddle session, Slim is your girl! She is spayed, up-to-date vaccinations, and will be available for adoption starting 7/12 through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA KL# 16182.  ##2452246##

Story
Apollo is a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s full of energy, incredibly smart, and does well with other dogs. He has a playful spirit and thrives when he has room to run, so a home with a yard or an active owner who can give him the exercise and stimulation he needs would be ideal. Apollo is very affectionate and sweet-natured, and he bonds deeply with his people. That said, he can be a bit temperamental when it comes to giving up things he’s not supposed to have, so he’ll need an experienced, patient owner who can work with him through continued training and provide clear boundaries. He knows some basic tricks already and is eager to learn more. While he’s great with other dogs, I wouldn’t recommend a home with young children. He needs someone committed—who understands high-energy breeds and can give him the structure, attention, and love he deserves.

Story
Meet Remi – Our Loyal Senior Shepherd 💙 Remi is an 11-year-old German Shepherd we took in from a family friend about six months ago. He’s incredibly gentle, calm, and very attached to kids. He's been amazing with our 3 young children and is great with other animals too. He’s extremely loyal and protective of his people, especially the kids, and would do anything to keep them safe. This is an incredibly hard decision for us, and I’m in tears writing this. Remi will be deeply missed. But with our busy home and young kids, I know he deserves more attention and calm than we can give him. He just needs a quiet, loving home to live out his golden years. We were told he’s up to date on shots, but we don’t have paperwork to confirm. He hasn’t had any health issues while with us. If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted dog to share your home and heart, Remi would be the perfect companion.

Story
Diamond is an eight year old Shepherd mix who was adopted from Pet Friends in 2017, but returned to us recently when her family was no longer able to take care of her. While she may considered a "senior dog based on her age, she looks and acts much younger. She enjoys playing fetch and going for walks but those walks don't need to be for miles and miles and the fetch sessions don't need to be hours long. After some exercise, Diamond will be happy to sit with you and get a good scratching. When she was returned, we weren't told much about her other than she is dog reactive, so would need to be in a house with no other dogs. Now that our volunteers have spent some time with Diamond, we have learned that she knows some basic commands, walks ok on a leash but will pull hard, especially at the beginning of the walk, and really enjoys being with people. Diamond is a perfect name for her, because she is a gem and is going to make someone a wonderful companion, particularly if they want a dog that has grown out of its puppy stage, yet still is full of life.

Story
Meet Cooper! Cooper is a 1.5-year-old neutered shepherd mix with a heart full of enthusiasm and a brain that’s always buzzing! This handsome guy is incredibly smart and thrives when given a job to do. He’s the kind of dog who would love to be your teammate in dog sports like agility, scent work, or rally — anything that challenges both his body and mind. Cooper is full of energy and loves to move! He’s still learning how to channel all that excitement into good choices, so he’ll need a home committed to helping him continue working on his impulse control with positive reinforcement training. He’s not just a go-getter — he’s also a loyal, eager-to-please companion who wants to bond deeply with his person. If you’re looking for an adventure buddy with loads of potential, Cooper might just be your perfect match. Cooper would do best in an active, experienced home that understands the needs of high-drive dogs and is excited to help him continue growing into his best self. We’d recommend no kids for him. Ideally his home is someone who lives a very active lifestyle and is wanting a dog to take on excursions like long hikes or runs, joining agility classes together, or anything where the activity & adventures are frequent and high level! Then, when the day is done, he’s happy to curl at your feet for a long night , dreaming about the next adventure with you!  Ready to meet your new best friend?
