Story
Meet wonderful Winnie! Winnie is an almost 2-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix. She's still a bit of a pup, but she is very well-behaved. She doesn't get into much, although she does occasionally pick things up with her mouth, so you'll need to keep an eye on her. She's so gentle that she'll happily let you take them away. Winnie weighs 61 pounds, is house-trained, and a crate champion. She knows "sit," "down," and "leave it," and is currently working on "stay." She could use a little more practice on a leash, as she tends to pull when she's excited to sniff or see other dogs. This friendly girl loves just about everyone! She's a wonderful companion who loves being close to her people and happily demands attention and belly rubs. Although she is completely crate-trained, she'd prefer a family where someone is home more often than not. Winnie would thrive with an active family that includes a fur sibling and/or human sibling to help her play and burn off energy. She was raised with young children and loves them. She has not been cat-tested, but she does seem interested in chasing bunnies and especially birds. As a mix of two high-energy working breeds, Winnie needs about 1.5-2 hours of moderate to intense exercise each day. She's also able to relax and entertain herself, but she benefits from plenty of mental stimulation through sniffing, puzzle toys, training, and enrichment activities. A large fenced yard where she can run would be ideal. Winnie enjoys shopping trips to Lowe's, Home Depot, Dick's Sporting Goods, and, of course, pet stores. She loves her toys, especially squeaky balls, and sometimes she'll even bring one back and drop it so you can throw it again! She is very trusting of her people and is not possessive of her food, treats, toys, or Kong. She also loves to chew. Winnie is a heavy year-round shedder and will need daily brushing. At night, Winnie sleeps quietly in her crate without a peep and patiently waits for you to wake up. She's an athletic beauty who loves to sprint and gallop, but she's equally happy being petted and brushed. She enjoys watching the world from the window and rarely barks—even at the mailman! She isn't afraid of much, except the hair dryer (thunderstorms and the Roomba don't bother her). Winnie is an adaptable, easygoing sweetheart and an exceptionally good girl, especially for being so young. She deserves an adventure-filled life with a loving family that can give her the time, activity, and companionship she needs. She'll make one lucky family incredibly happy. Could that family be yours? Are you the lucky family that will win big by adopting Winnie? She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and is available for adoption now. Story
Briar is a gorgeous 8-month-old, 30-pound German Shepherd mix with a personality as beautiful as her looks. Smart, affectionate, and full of puppy joy, she's happiest wherever her people are. She's convinced she's a lap dog and loves to cuddle just as much as she loves to play. Outside, you'll find her showing off her hilarious kangaroo hops, chasing bugs around the yard, or bringing the ball back for another game of fetch. Briar is eager to learn and loves making her people proud. She's doing great with potty training, already knows to sit for her leash, and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement. She enjoys playing with other dogs of all sizes and would love a confident canine friend, but she'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only. Like any young shepherd, she's still building confidence with crate training and being left alone, so she'll do best with a family committed to continuing her training. Because of her herding instincts and puppy enthusiasm, Briar is looking for a home without cats and with older, dog-savvy children. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who's equal parts cuddle bug, fetch partner, and goofy entertainer, Briar is ready to steal the spotlight—and your heart. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and is available for adoption now. Story
I got Mocha in 2023 while living in Cambridge, OH, a very rural area on property with lots of land for Mocha to run on. I got Mocha from a couple in the area and she was at this point not socialized and very skittish. When I took her to the vet they had found she had been infected with a tick-borne illness due and she has gone through treatment 2x and is completely healthy from that. She had 5 acres to run out there in a house I owned with My Dad and Brother. Unfortunately due to family issues my brother and I decided to move to PA. I love Mocha, she is a wonderful lovely dog. She is super friendly when she gets comfortable with you but is guarded at first, especially around men. I no longer have the land to let Mocha roam and get her energy out and due to some back issues (and issues she has with car rides) its hard for me to get her what she needs and I would prefer she be with someone who can. If there are any other questions regarding Mocha please reach out.

Story
Diamond is a 9 1/2 year old Shepherd mix who was adopted from Pet Friends in 2017, but returned to us recently when her family was no longer able to take care of her. While she may be considered a senior dog based on her age, she looks and acts much younger. She enjoys playing fetch and going for walks but those walks don't need to be for miles and miles and the fetch sessions don't need to be hours long. After some exercise, Diamond will be happy to sit with you and get a good scratching. When she was returned, we weren't told much about her other than she is dog reactive, so would need to be in a house with no other dogs. Now that our volunteers have spent some time with Diamond, we have learned that she knows some basic commands, walks ok on a leash but will pull hard, especially at the beginning of the walk, and really enjoys being with people. Diamond recently moved to a foster home and the foster mom reports that Diamond is house trained, doesn’t jump up on the furniture, does not beg for food and is an all around great dog. She plays with the grandkids like she has know them for years. Diamond is a perfect name for her, because she is a gem and is going to make someone a wonderful companion, particularly if they want a dog that has grown out of its puppy stage, yet still is full of life.

Story
Meet Julie! We assisted the Indiana borough to help rescue Julie and Tofu. The two have persevered together through a tough situation but are both now at happy healthy weights. When they came to us, they had major trust issues, were severely underweight, and had been abandoned for a long period of time. However, after months of work the two are, again, at happy and healthy weights, super snuggly, very friendly, and filled with energy. Both Julie and Tofu have regained what it is to trust humans again. Julie is super friendly, full of love, is definitely hyper, and she loves... like LOVES tennis balls. Since she came in with Tofu and has made friends with other dogs here, we think she may want another doggy friend. This super sweet girl would love a forever home with a big yard, friends, and lots of tennis balls. Weight: 36.8 lbs Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Age: 3yrs 2mths 2wks
