Story
Meet Rover...a big, happy, friendly, affectionate, playful 5 year old, 102 pound, 94.8% German Shepherd who is up for adoption. When rescued last August, he weighed only 66 pounds, very emaciated in his backyard. A foster stepped up and provided him a safe place to complete all the care all he needed. They gave him so much love he is now 102 pounds and a very happy boy. Now healthy and happy, he is so very playful and energetic. He even acts younger than his age, and he thinks he is a lap dog!!! He went through HW treatment with no issues and did very well when he had to be on restrictive play time. He does love to play but he also knows when he has had enough and will find a comfy spot to nap.Rover just loves people; he is a little ham who loves to go to the pet store and meet all the pet owners. Due to his size, and that he has never lived with a child, we feel he would be best with children over 7, after all, he loves laps!!He is great with dogs, he shares his foster with other dogs. He spotted the neighbor cat and started to chase, so he needs a home without a feline.Rover is already for a new family who can continue to show him love. He is house trained and crate trained, he will go in his crate just to nap. He will need continued leash training, he is 5 and has never had anything around his neck besides a heavy chain, so now he is learning what leashes are all about. He has make progress just needs you to continue helping him understand. He was a little nervous in a car at first, but is now better; laying down quickly once inside.Rover is truly a gentle giant who is so lovable and handsome. And those ears!!!!Can you give this great guy a home?Check out videos of this boy in action:https://youtube.com/shorts/lpIc1yGz3Rghttps://youtube.com/shorts/MLVK4fQHlmUhttps://youtube.com/shorts/AInZ-vHn7rIName: RoverBreed: German Shepherd DogSex: MaleAge: 5 yrs 7 months as of 2/27/25Weight: 102 lbs as of 2/27/25Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive on recent testing.  Has completed entire treatment!Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 8Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    Tennessee IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Kylie: A Survivor, A Mama, A SweetheartKylie was rescued from under an abandoned home on a freezing cold day, found huddled with her eight puppies, doing everything she could to protect and care for them. Kylie’s nurturing instincts kicked in from the moment she became a mama, showing boundless love and devotion to her little ones. Kylie's pups all found their forever families, and now Kylie is ready to share her heart with a family of her own. She has blossomed into a calm, loving, and sweet dog who thrives in a home filled with affection and companionship. Kylie is great with children, currently staying with a 6-year-old in her foster home, and she has proven to be patient and gentle. Kids also come over and interact with her puppies on a daily basis and she is just great!Kylie is fully crate-trained and willingly enters her crate, making it a safe, cozy space when needed. She’s also housetrained, and although she’s rarely left alone in her foster home, she does just fine when she is. She walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides, making her an excellent companion for outings. Kylie is not a chewer, so she’s easy to manage indoors, and she’s perfectly content with a routine.Kylie can be possessive of her food, so she’s best fed separately from other pets. With this small exception, she is nothing but sweet and loving—always ready for snuggles, belly rubs, and moments of calm companionship. She is thoroughly enjoying her new life in New England and is making friends every day!Check out her amazing video montages:https://youtube.com/shorts/j2nNz_fV3T8?si=03-nL-0KfFggo1t6https://youtube.com/shorts/IWMtgNsinHc?si=1q-g366O9GQGe9eTAnd her relaxing on the couch with her foster sibling:https://youtu.be/tvHNoRXBI6E?si=sLO-B6kBU6Ig0S4oName: KylieBreed: German Shepherd Dog/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 3 years  (estimated)Weight: 67 lbs Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: on recent testing Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 5Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    New EnglandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England. Story
Meet Ruby King! Ruby is a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her love for cuddles. Despite a rough start in life—being rescued after someone heartlessly threw her from a moving vehicle—Ruby has shown nothing but resilience, love, and loyalty. This sweet, medium-energy girl adores other dogs, plays well, and enjoys a good cuddle session. She's great with kids (ages 5+), gentle with elderly folks, and walks beautifully on a leash. Ruby is also housetrained and an excellent traveler, making her a perfect adventure companion.Ruby does have a few quirks—she's not a fan of cats (she'll chase them!) and gets nervous during storms, preferring to snuggle under the covers. But with love and reassurance, she'll always be by your side. Her ideal home?A loving family with or without other dogsA cat-free home Ruby is already spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vet care. Still, she tested positive for heartworms, so she'll need a family willing to continue her treatment.
