Story
Unfortunately, due to an upcoming move, I need to find a new home for my dog. His name is Taz, and he’s 4½ years old. He’s a very sweet boy and doesn’t need much—just love, care, and affection. I’m looking for a responsible owner who will take good care of him and give him the attention he deserves. I can also provide some of his belongings to help with the transition, including bowls, collars, and other essentials. If you’re interested or would like more information, please reach out.

Story
Kodiak is a beautiful, sweet, and lovable dog who has completely stolen the hearts of myself and my family over the past four years. This decision is incredibly difficult, but I’ve come to realize that Kodiak needs a different environment in order to thrive. While she is wonderful in so many ways, Kodiak has had issues getting along with our other female dog, Presley (a dachshund). The first incident happened after about a year, and while we thought it was an isolated situation, she unfortunately attacked Presley again in October 2024, which required medical care. During that same week, there was a second incident. Since then, we’ve kept the dogs separated, but I feel this has only increased her frustration toward Presley, even through the crate. We also have a small male dog, Bandit, and we believe the conflict between Kodiak and Presley is related to them both trying to establish dominance. We worked with a trainer and received tools to help Kodiak, but due to a very difficult 2025

Story
MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER Bella is a German shepherd amstaff mix. She was born on 9/11/21. She is spaid and very healthy. Belle is very affectionate and is good with other dogs including smaller one's. Not a dog for a home with a cat. She loves going for rides and swimming hiking and generally be very active. Bella is great with children but can be overwhelming for younger children because she loves to give kisses. She's always been fed higher end dog food such as tast of the wild, fromm brand, and Stella and chewy she's also used to having somebody cook for her such as green beans carrots sweet potatoes and chicken. Chloe is bull dog mix’s. Both need to go together we did try separate then. Chloe didn’t do well with out Bella. There will be a lower adoption fee if you adopted the two If interested call Taunton Animal Shelter at 508-822-1463 and ask for Rob Shelter Manager

Story
Scarlett is a beautiful 6-year-old German Shepherd with a sweet soul and a youthful, puppy-like energy. At about 70 pounds, she’s the perfect mix of sturdy and snuggly, and she absolutely lights up when she’s around people. She’s also a fantastic car buddy—Scarlett loves car rides and will happily put her head out the window to feel the breeze. After the recent passing of her owner, Scarlett’s world changed quickly, and she’s been working hard to adjust. She’s fully house trained and is currently brushing up on her crate training while she settles into a new routine. She would thrive with someone who can offer patience, consistency, and a calm environment as she rebuilds her sense of security. Scarlett is best suited as the only dog in the home, as she hasn’t had much socialization and can be unsure around other animals. She hasn’t been around children enough for us to know how she would do, so an adults-only household may be the most comfortable match for her right now.

Story
Meet George....a VERY handsome, big-hearted shepherd mix.George’s journey began on a lonely country road, where he and his siblings were found after being heartbreakingly dumped. Sadly, one of his siblings didn’t survive, but the rest of the little family was brought to safety and into loving rescue care. Now, George is the last of his litter still waiting for his forever home, and he’s so ready to find it.George has the sweetest personality. He is just obsessed with humans. They are the greatest thing on earth to him. Better than food and toys! He is happiest in close proximity to humans who want to cuddle and play with him, but he is also happy to relax quietly in his crate if his belly is full and at least some of his puppy energy has been expended! He sleeps quietly in the crate all night long.George is still working on house-training, but he is learning fast! He's also nearly mastered sit and down, and is currently also working on stay and come! He is a very SMART boy. Consistent training and mental stimulation will help George thrive. Given his background, George is understandably a little tentative in new or busy environments. He also has exhibited some resource guarding with other dogs as well as leash reactivity toward other dogs. An experienced home that will provide the training and structure George needs to grow into a confident adult dog is a must. To ensure George is best set up for success, George's adopter will be contractually REQUIRED to work with a professional trainer. Name: GeorgeBreed: German Shepherd Dog/CrossbredSex: MaleAge: 5 monthsWeight: 31lbsSpayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained: Almost there!Microchipped: YesLocation of dog currently: New England     Puppy Adoption Fee:  $500.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONPaws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Meet Akira! Akira is a beautiful and friendly girl and, though she's 12 years old, she still has plenty of pep in her step and is always up for a walk. Her calm, affectionate, and easy going demeanor quickly wins people over, before you know it you'll be secretly passing her bites of your meal and inviting her up on the couch for snuggles. Akira has previously lived with other dogs, she's playful at times but generally prefers just coexisting and enjoying their company. She doesn't have much experience with cats, but due to her breed and size we would recommend a slow introduction to ensure the safety and comfort of all animals. Akira would prefer an teens+ or adult only home (peace, maturity, and quiet are any old dog's dream) and she can't wait to find a family to love her throughout her golden years. Akira is currently in foster care, if you are interested in her please complete an adopter’s profile at parl.org and email cshamgochian@parl.org to set up a meet and greet
