Story
Meet Leo! Leo is a handsome young German shepherd who loves meeting new people and playing with his toys. Leo is lanky and is still working on growing into his body but that just makes him all the cuter. He can be jumpy and mouthy in the usual puppy way, but he would thrive in an active family to tire him out. Teens and up would be best due to his occasional lack of manners and large size. **Leo is in our special adoption program, if you are interested in him please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and email Claire at cshamgochian@parl.org**

Story
I’ve had King since he was about 5 months old he is now 2. He is the sweetest boy, and is very smart. I’ve recently had to move due to unfortunate circumstances that are beyond my control and my landlord won’t let me keep him. I’m looking for someone to love him and give him all the exercise and fun that he deserves!

Story
This is MACON! The handsomest 2 year old male who is a very striking breed of dog and dog. Seriously, we're not sure his breed but we know he'll be a larger pup and he's wonderful. Macon was found running down the middle of the highway in Macon County, was found by some kind souls who took him in. Macon loves other dogs and kids, but he has a bit too much energy for the good Samaritans that found him. He foster sister is a 13 year old Chi that Macon is very respectful to, but the Chi is a bit cantankerous and doesn't like to share. Macon knows his manners, caught on to the basics very quickly, he knows to sit, stay and other basic commands. He absolutely LOVES toys. His fosters say he could chase a tennis ball or frisbee forever (fetch level pro) but he does very well when let inside to cuddle on the couch too. If you are interested in having this wonderful pup join your family, please let us know using this link: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. From there, we'll forward your application to his foster family who will be in touch. ======================================================================================== If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
He’s a sweet dog. He’s adaptable to whatever is going on in the house. If we are playful, he will play. If we are chill he will chill. He’s always up for being petted or snuggling. One of his favorite things in joining in on hugs. If people are hugging he’ll go over and just gently stick his head in between the people and stand there with them. He just likes the closeness. He’s mostly quiet. He’ll give a little whine to let us know he needs to go outside. And he’ll bark if there is a stranger at the door, or sometimes (rarely) if he see a squirrel on the porch, but other than that he’s really quiet. He’s a good dog. Story
Delta Marie Delta is a sweet and loving 3 year old shepherd Pyrenees mix. She enjoys running and romping in the yard as well as loving on her human. She is up for lounging on the sofa or going on an adventure. She needs an active family that can keep her busy. She is shy at first but once she warms up to you she wants to be in your lap. She is food motivated and a fast and eager learner. She is good with children over 10. She can be dog selective, so not every dog is her friend and she is not a fan of cats. She needs a fenced in yard due to her high prey drive of chasing squirrels, so she get lost.  She is housebroken and crate trained and walks on leash. She is a happy energetic girl looking for her furever family. She has been with us for a year and was surrendered by her owner because they were moving and didn't want to take her. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped with lifetime monitoring, on flea and hw prevention. Story
Introducing Brie, a delightful older pup who is as sweet as can be. Brie has a happy and well-mannered disposition, making her a joy to be around. She gets along amazingly well with cats, other dogs, and is always polite and patient. While she may have some playful puppy energy, Brie is overall calm and easy to handle. She is gentle enough to be around little kids, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Although she may be cautious at first, Brie quickly warms up and becomes a playful, outgoing, and social companion.
