Story
Meet Stevie! She's currently located in Bellingham WA with a foster family. Stevie is around five months old and weighs about forty pounds. She's enthusiastic and eager eager to please. Currently living with a few other dogs and enjoying life. Likes to hear what a good girl she is, good snuggler that also likes to give kisses and enjoys a good belly rub. Would do ok with older kids as she's still figuring out her feet and polite introductions. Looking for a family that has room for her to roam and willing to put in the time with training. Stevie is going to make a great addition to a lucky family! Application for adoption can be found on the rescues website. Link is below. Happy to answer any additional questions! https://poidogrescue.org/adopt-form/

Story
Meet Blue! This energetic 3-year-old pup (turning 4 on February 2nd) is house trained and knows a variety of commands, including sit, stay, heel, go play, go potty, come, and shake. Blue thrives on adventure-he loves long walks, playing fetch with his favorite ball or frisbee, and exploring hiking trails. A day at the dog park is his idea of a perfect day! He's looking for a home without small children or babies and needs a family that can provide plenty of exercise and playtime to match his high energy. Blue is not just fun; he's also loyal and loves cuddling with his humans after a busy day. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, is great off-leash, and behaves well on a leash. Blue does have very mild sign of hip-dysplasia that is very common in German Shepards. It is currently being controlled by pet-friendly CBD. He will need someone dedicated to maintaining this mild condition.

Story
❤️‍🩹TEDDY has been up for adoption for OVER A YEAR❤️‍🩹 Meet Teddy, a 5-year-old German Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Teddy’s journey hasn’t been easy—his body carries scars, and his ears were damaged before he ever knew kindness. But this goofy, gregarious boy has come so far, and he’s ready for a home that will continue building his trust. 🐾 What makes Teddy special:     •    Full of character—playful, curious, and downright hilarious at times     •    Crate trained, muzzle trained, and happy to entertain himself (no separation anxiety here!)     •    Thrives in nosework and would love fun hobbies like tracking or detection games     •    Malleable in training—he loves working with people he trusts     •    Loyal, loving, and bonds deeply once he knows you ⚡ Things to know:     •    Needs a stable home with only one or two consistent handlers—too many people can overwhelm him     •    Cautious with new people—needs slow introductions and respectful space     •    Best as an only focused dog in the home     •    No cats, no small animals, no kids     •    No male dogs; might be able to pair with one solid, mellow, playful female dog if the fit is right     •    Would not do well with another dog that shares his same guarded tendencies—he needs good role models     •    In training now and continuing to build confidence every day 🏡 Ideal Home:     •    Patient adopters committed to continuing his training with professional support     •    A calm, structured environment where his world stays predictable and safe     •    Someone looking for a loyal companion and maybe a fun sport-dog partner in nosework or tracking Teddy has been overlooked for far too long, but we know his person is out there—the one who sees past his scars and recognizes the incredible dog he is. If you are interested in welcoming this sweet boy into your family and giving him the love and patience he deserves, please apply at happytailshappyhomes.org. 🐾❤️

Story
Meet Hazel 🤍 Hazel is a sweet, petite shepherd girl—polite, playful, and truly lovely to be around. She found herself in a heartbreaking situation through no fault of her own. Due to overcrowded shelters, low foot traffic, and simply not standing out enough in a busy environment, Hazel was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, Happy Tails Happy Homes Rescue, alongside Rocket Dog Academy, swooped in at the last moment to save this gentle girl. Now Hazel is safe, seen, and getting her chance to shine. She’s the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart—and we’re so grateful she got the second chance she deserves. 🐾✨

Story
Say hello to Mama Sasha, a lovable, playful 1.5 year old girl who's ready to be the heart of her new family! Sasha is as friendly as they come and is ready to befriend anyone she meets! She’s wonderful with kids—gentle, patient, and always up for playtime or a cuddle on the couch. She’s also a social butterfly with other dogs, big or small, and would fit right into a home with canine siblings. She is being fostered with both large and small dogs and she would love to have another playful dog in her new home! Sasha is an easygoing travel buddy—great in the car and eager to tag along on any adventure. Whether it’s a trip to a coffee shop, a hike, or an afternoon at the dog park, Sasha is curious, confident, and excited to explore the world by your side. Sasha is well behaved and knows house manners. She is potty trained, crate trained, knows "sit," and seems eager to learn more commands. She seems to look to her people and doggie friends for direction sometimes and takes correction and cues from people and other dogs very well! This happy girl is full of life and love. Whether you're out on an adventure or hanging out at home, Sasha will be right by your side, tail wagging and ready to love! The adoption process consists of an application, reference checks, phone interview, and video chat with the pet and foster parent! The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, DHPP and booster, and Bordatella), microchip with free lifetime registration, deworming, transport, heartworm test, heartworm and flea prevention during the pet's time in our program as well as 2 free months of heartworm and flea prevention to be sent in their adoption packet! We are volunteers with a passion to reduce the stray population and unnecessary euthanasia in South Texas. According to Shelter Animals Count, an almost 100,000 cats and dogs were euthanized in Texas shelters in 2024. By transporting our adoptable pets to areas with fewer unwanted pets, they have a better chance of quickly finding loving homes, while also freeing up space in Texas shelters and giving more local animals a chance at life.
