Story
Calling all people who appreciate a one family dog who is willing to work long hours ensuring the perimeter is secure before tucking you into bed! She has a very reasonable fee of cuddles and cheese.Big Bertha came in as a stray so her resume does have a gap. We do know we haven`t found a dog yet that she likes but maybe our pool is not up to her standards of having as much muscle and brains as her, its equal partnership era people.Young kids and cats? Probably not.Cafes and dog parks? Nope that`s not her vibe at the moment. What is her vibe? Weight lifting, watching the game by you on the couch with some pretzels and a beverage, playing a game with you in the yard where you let her win...So you ask what kind of home would work? Ideally she would be the only furry security detail with a secure yard she could play and run around in. This girl is not all work though, she loves to play and also knows some basic cues. She is highly intelligent and catching on quickly so with some training investment we think she could go far. She`s a catch with some caveats but a catch all the same. We all have our caveats.

Keanu is a bundle of fun and brains. He`s the class clown that became a tech millionaire when he grew up but still wears ripped jeans and a ball cap. He`s another mystery man coming in as a stray so kid and cat status is unknown but we recommend older kids only so they don`t get knocked over in his zest for life. He also has some of the herding breed mouthiness when he`s excited so recommend calm walks until he has been able to decompress from shelter stress. He seems to really like the lady dogs but has told us he would consider a brother as well. We recommend a meet and greet for all future dog roomies to ensure it`s a good fit for all.The perfect home would give him regular exercise, he is not a couch potato, and work his brain learning new things like solving puzzles, nosework, etc. Keanu went to a recent adoption event and showed us what a social guy he is, ready and willing to meet everyone! So if you`re looking for a fun dog with extrovert vibes come check him out. CS

Story
Say hello to Mama Sasha, a lovable, playful 1.5 year old girl who's ready to be the heart of her new family! Sasha is as friendly as they come and is ready to befriend anyone she meets! She’s wonderful with kids—gentle, patient, and always up for playtime or a cuddle on the couch. She’s also a social butterfly with other dogs, big or small, and would fit right into a home with canine siblings. She is being fostered with both large and small dogs and she would love to have another playful dog in her new home! Sasha is an easygoing travel buddy—great in the car and eager to tag along on any adventure. Whether it’s a trip to a coffee shop, a hike, or an afternoon at the dog park, Sasha is curious, confident, and excited to explore the world by your side. Sasha is well behaved and knows house manners. She is potty trained, crate trained, knows "sit," and seems eager to learn more commands. She seems to look to her people and doggie friends for direction sometimes and takes correction and cues from people and other dogs very well! This happy girl is full of life and love. Whether you're out on an adventure or hanging out at home, Sasha will be right by your side, tail wagging and ready to love! To watch Sasha's video: https://youtu.be/1dAGg4ijHgw?si=8Nho9mrphR3duH2M To apply to adopt Sasha, please visit the following link: https://forms.gle/iWKCAs4EjVJQJbnYA Dreaming of Furever Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue that adopts cats and dogs from South Texas to the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, and the East Coast. The adoption process consists of an application, reference checks, phone interview, and video chat with the pet and foster parent! The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, DHPP and booster, and Bordatella), microchip with free lifetime registration, deworming, transport, heartworm test, heartworm and flea prevention during the pet's time in our program as well as 2 free months of heartworm and flea prevention to be sent in their adoption packet! We are volunteers with a passion to reduce the stray population and unnecessary euthanasia in South Texas. According to Shelter Animals Count, an almost 100,000 cats and dogs were euthanized in Texas shelters in 2024. By transporting our adoptable pets to areas with fewer unwanted pets, they have a better chance of quickly finding loving homes, while also freeing up space in Texas shelters and giving more local animals a chance at life. If you are interested in more information about this pet or our organization, please email us at DreamingOfFurever@gmail.com.

Story
Take a second to sit back & relax, meet Molly Mae! Molly went on an exciting road trip with her foster brother last year in hopes to find her forever family. Although she hasn’t found them just yet, we know they are out there somewhere! On her trip, Molly traveled over 3,600 miles in a car. Woah!! Not only is she totally interesting and ready to share all of her world traveling stories with you, but she’s most of all looking for love. The first thing you will notice about this girl is how intelligent she is. Molly is also nothing short of an impressive performance dog with her sit, down, and touch skills. She also has amazing recall, and has mastered “heel” and “leave it” when she passes by other dogs on her daily walks. She loves being brushed too. One of our volunteers loves her so much, he comes multiple times a week to sit with her and brush her. She sits perfectly for him for 45 minutes straight, never leaving his side even when new doggies walk by. It melted my heart, and it surely will melt yours too. Molly is a big fan of her daily routine, and she hopes you will help her create a new one in her new home. The girl knows what she likes! Molly also loves a good game of fetch— she will bring the ball back and drop it! Calling all shepherd lovers, because this girls personality will need someone familiar with this breed! Is that you? Meet Molly girl here! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yR7D5PYFxhU&feature=youtu.be Molly has so many good qualities to her. She is great in her crate, and best of all she is quiet in there too! She is calm and relaxed when you take her out. When you want her to go back in she just walks right in! She is very food motivated and loves a good treat (don’t we all!). She even let a 4 year old train her! She sat for him, and waited patiently for him to share some of his yummy cheese stick. Molly is not the jumping around ball of energy type, she is respectful of her surroundings and the people in it! Little tiny kids can be a little overwhelming with all of the bouncing and kid friendly chaos, so we believe Molly would do better with kids 7 years and up. Or children that will be able to understand her boundaries. Family coming over to visit with younger kids should not be a problem for her, this is just something she prefers! Mollys interest in treats would make for a super fun training session! Molly is the perfect example of a dog that is just happy to be with you, no matter where you are. Molly really likes to bond with her people. She is so loyal and loving, when her forever family comes to get her I have no doubt it will be the happiest day of her life! She would be happy to stay home and put around the backyard too! Speaking of homes and yards, this girl needs one! Having a structured area for her to play and mosey around in would be her dream. Molly does not need another dog in the home, but if she were to have one she prefers to be with more submissive, medium energy males that will participate in her similar play style. Molly can be a little rowdy with her best friend sometimes, but it’s all fun and games. Molly would be perfectly content being your one and only too! No kitty cats for this queen, they are just way too fun to chase and bark at. Her ideal family would be those that love some good quality time. We could totally see her hanging out at the backyard barbecue hoping you’ll slip her a little something under the table. When this girl falls for you, she falls hard. If only we could all be so lucky to have a best friend like her. Are you ready to add the perfect loyal companion to your life? Apply for her today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/680a6339fe589ad4230a2f7b Questions? The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
