FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Bubble Yum. Her foster mom calls her YumYum and adores her. In her foster home, she's learned all kinds of wonderful puppy manners. She is crate trained, sleeps with the big dogs on the couch or in an open crate. YumYum has come a long way. She is the sweetest girl. YumYum is a German Shepherd / Bully / Husky / Cattle dog mix. She's actually got 8 breeds in her DNA.
She can be on the reserved side, cautious of new people and situations, but she's the 'smart' girl of the litter - we can see her thinking about every command. She is the dog that crawls into your lap for TV time, relaxing on your lap. Yum is good with the other dogs in the house, is curious about the cat - but is so responsive to verbal corrections.
As Yum has become more comfortable in her foster home, she's joined the 'pack' mentality and can be a little guardy. Again, she is SO responsive to a firm "no" and is easy to work with. We started taking her to training classes to become socialized outside her foster's pack. The first class was stressful for her, but we are committed to keep going and getting her to the point she can visit our favorite brewery! She's going on 'adventures' out to stores and does great in the car.
A large fenced yard and other friendly dogs would be great to show her the ropes, she plays well with the foster's 10# dog and her 100# dog! Miss Yum met kids ranging from 4 to 13. She was very leery, hid and barked at the younger children so we are gonna say teen children would be OK, but an adult home would probably be the best home for her. In a new home they will need the 3-3-3 rule applied and time to show their true side.
Large breed dog experience a plus. This puppy is about 9 months old, spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She is housebroken. And no free range chickens for Yum... she's not hurt any of the foster's chickens, but there is much interest, chased. We actually have no issues with her if she's down with a person, because she listens so well, but left on her own devices, she may hurt one.
Yum needs a dog savvy home... again, she's amazing, but will take some time to adjust in a new home.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Save-A-Mutt requires a training contract and $100 refundable deposit depending on previous dog experience. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.
Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. YumYum is ready for her new home!
Adoption fee is $350.
Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
