Story
Hi, I’m Pixie — Professional Snuggler, Part-Time Comedian I may be part German Shorthaired Pointer and part Blue Heeler (with a few mystery sprinkles mixed in), but don’t let that fool you—I’m more of a cuddle-on-the-couch than run-a-marathon kind of girl. At just two years old, I’ve already perfected my skills: loving kids, making friends with other dogs, giving cats their personal space, and keeping your house accident-free. I’ve got the smarts from my Pointer side and the loyalty from my Heeler roots, but what I really bring to the table is warmth. Think of me as your furry weighted blanket with a tail wag. So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect best friend—sweet, social, and snuggly—well… I’m right here. Now let’s go home and claim our spot on the couch. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  ##2507063##

Story
Pepper is approximately 5 years old and was adopted from the local animal shelter when he was 8 months old. Pepper has attended doggy daycare since he was adopted and also completed two weeks of boarded training. Unfortunately, we, his dog parents, did not maintain his training, but he still knows several commands (sit, stay, off, leave it). Pepper had is annual physical with vaccinations and the annual heartworm shot in May 2026. Pepper is very loving and gets along well with female dogs in the home. He plays with male dogs at school, however, he does not do well with other male dogs in the home. Pepper is good with older kids, but because of his size, it is hard for us to have him around our toddler aged grandkids. Pepper is a large dog and needs exercise and a yard big enough for him to run.

Story
BONDED PAIR OF GSP FEMALES river loves to play with other dogs and people. she's never met a stranger and she never barks. i've seriously heard her bark maybe like 5 times. she will vocalize wanting to go outside or when she wants to play tho. she is also extremely smart, she can open doors with L shape handles, she unlocked herself from her kennel several times before we just gave up on them, and she can open cabinet doors and drawers, so she can mischievous when she's bored. she also remembers where things are so she can go get them when i'm not home 🙄 riley is hesitant around other people and dogs at first, but can absolutely be bought with treats and fetch. and she usually follows the lead of river around others until she is comfortable. she will play fetch for HOURS. she loves to run and play outside in the dog park, literally all gas no brakes.

Story
Meet Hazel, a darling scruffy girl who is looking for a fresh start and a loving forever home. She was surrendered to the shelter on 6/4, and while this transition has been difficult for her, her sweet personality shines through. Hazel's former family shared that she is good with children, and the volunteers describe her as incredibly sweet, loving, and precious. The loud, unfamiliar shelter environment has left her feeling scared and shy, but with a little patience and reassurance, Hazel quickly shows her gentle and affectionate nature. This smart girl already knows several commands, including sit, down, and stay, and she enjoys earning praise from her people. Hazel is simply looking for someone who will help her feel safe and loved again. If you're searching for a loyal companion with a tender heart, Hazel may be the perfect match. Come meet this beautiful girl and give her the second chance she deserves. Hazel is approximately 7 months old, and weighs 35 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines and did test negative for heartworms. She is spayed and will be microchipped upon adoption. Hazel is waiting patiently in kennel 27; her ID # is 19612. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
