Story
Hi, I’m Pixie — Professional Snuggler, Part-Time Comedian I may be part German Shorthaired Pointer and part Blue Heeler (with a few mystery sprinkles mixed in), but don’t let that fool you—I’m more of a cuddle-on-the-couch than run-a-marathon kind of girl. At just two years old, I’ve already perfected my skills: loving kids, making friends with other dogs, giving cats their personal space, and keeping your house accident-free. I’ve got the smarts from my Pointer side and the loyalty from my Heeler roots, but what I really bring to the table is warmth. Think of me as your furry weighted blanket with a tail wag. So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect best friend—sweet, social, and snuggly—well… I’m right here. Now let’s go home and claim our spot on the couch. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  ##2507063##

Story
German Shorthaired Pointer Pup looking for forever home!!! This baby deserves her forever home, and she will make an amazing addition! Oakley is a 10 week old female GSP puppy rescued by Castoff Pet Rescue. She is a doll baby, with so much love to give. She is in a foster home with her sister, 3 other dogs and 4 cats and she is wonderful with everyone. She is currently about 10 pounds and we think she will grow to about 40 pounds when full grown. She has lots of adorable wrinkles she needs to grow into. Oakley is a bundle of affection with the most expressive eyes you’ve ever seen. While she has plenty of that puppy energy. Oakley thrives on human connection. She’s a quick learner who is already mastering the art of the 'check-in' during play. Oakley would love a home where she can be a true member of the family—involved in the daily action and ending every night curled up as close to her humans as possible. If you’re looking for a loyal, smart companion who loves as hard as she plays, Oakley is your girl." Story
Sammy is a seven-year-old, 51-pound pointer mix who was surrendered to the shelter twice, through no fault of his own. As far as we can see, he is pretty perfect. Sweet and calm, loves people, good with dogs and cats. He's also housetrained. It's time for his luck to turn, and someone give him a forever home. If you would like to foster-to-adopt Sammy, or help with fostering, please submit an application. ##2725507##

Story
Looking to re-home our bird dog. Unfortunately, he is not a good fit for our family. We have cats that I have had for for almost 9 years and he is terrorizing them to the point where they won't even come out of hiding to eat or go to the litter boxes, they have lost all quality of life they had. He is very smart and loves to play, he can be an escape artist so may want a heavy duty crate, we had to put carabeaners on ours to keep him from popping up the latches. He is mostly potty trained. By mostly I mean if you let him have free reign in the house you have to just to watch for his cues or he will potty. He barks at anyone and everyone until he gets use to them, but he is just a big baby. He needs to have someone who can get active with him, right now he has lots of pent up energy because he is in the crate 8 hours a day while we are at work.

Story
Are you looking for a loving dog who would love to take naps on your lap? Emillia is looking for a family that is ready for the excitement of a puppy, but who is already past most of the puppy challenging stages. This sweetheart is crate and potty trained, has all her shot and is spayed and is working on leash training and recall. Her favorite things are playing fetch and tug of war, but she also likes being outside and watching the birds and squirrels. Emillia will need to be in a home with another playful dog to help her build some confidence. When first meeting Emillia she becomes shy and unsure, but she warms up quickly. The vet expects her to be between 50-60lbs, and this girl adores mealtime and treats. The best home for Emillia would be one with a fenced in yard as she blossoms in familiar surroundings. Emillia has done well with children and cats so she should fit in with most households. Emillia is happy to sleep in her crate, in a bed on the floor or in the bed with you at night. When crated she doesn’t make a peep and waits patiently for you to open the door so she can give you all her love. She is in the teething stage, but her love for antlers keeps her occupied. Emillia has a velvet muzzle and belly, unique spots and a brindle mask, making her visually gorgeous. Her foster family adores her and knows once adopted she brighten the life of her family. If you would like to learn more about Emillia please apply with Hero Dog Rescue. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
