Story
This handsome freckled boy is Samson! He arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 11/2, and no one has come to reclaim him. We're surprised no is missing Samson, he is sure a nice boy! The volunteers have enjoyed getting to know Samson, and they describe him as friendly and fun-loving! He seems excited and happy to be around other dogs, so he may like a playmate to spend time with! Samson is approximately 2 years old, and he weighs 60 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he will be neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Please come meet Samson in run 881; his ID # is 5968. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Meet Liam! He is an energetic, 4 and a half year old Pointer mix who is looking for a forever home. He would make anyone a great hiking or running companion (his foster mom jogs 8 miles a day with him!). Liam is GREAT with kids and cats! However, he is dog selective. He does great in his foster home with her older, laid back dog, but he is not all about that puppy energy. He likes to do his own thing with his family and doesn't want to be bothered with other dogs. He currently shares his home with two blind cats, an older dog, and teenagers and he LOVES all little kids that he meets! If you are interested in adopting Liam, please fill out an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY-A-1277 **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. If you need to reach us regarding your application, the best way to contact us is through email.** We are located in Fayette County, GA and are a foster based rescue without a shelter building.

Story
Ripley is such a sweetheart with his friendly personality and playful nature. He absolutely loves being around people, even kids, and he’s ready for his forever home! One thing to know about Ripley is that he has tons of energy! You could say he’s got the spirit of a triathlete, which means he’ll need a decent amount of good exercise each day to keep him happy and healthy. While he was originally bred for hunting, you don’t have to go on hunts to give him joy. Active families will adore having Ripley around since he’s always up for fun adventures like runs, hikes, and even bike rides. He’ll be your loyal companion, trotting happily alongside you on any long hike or run you can manage. Plus, his smarts and athleticism make him a fantastic candidate for agility training! Ripley loves to learn and has a strong desire to have a purpose, so he’s usually very open to picking up new tricks and skills throughout his life. Just remember, consistency is key, and he responds best when you are a firm and confident leader. While Ripley is wonderful with humans and other dogs, he’s not exactly a fan of cats. Overall, though, he’s a delightful companion ready to fill your life with joy and adventure! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
