Story
Bowie is a 1-year-old lab/pointer mix with a sweet, goofy, and loving personality! Bowie is fully crate trained and potty trained. He is calm and respectful in the house, only chews his own toys and bones, and settles quietly in his crate during the day while I'm out or at work.He is incredibly smart and eager to learn. He knows sit, down, and touch, and has made great progress with leash training. Bowie loves walks on the BeltLine, tug-of-war, chew toys, and spending time with people. He is very affectionate and friendly, with an energetic play style. He currently lives in an apartment setting, but I have no doubt he would love a yard or even a friend to share it with! He is a very light shedder, so no constant vacuuming needed! This is an extremely difficult decision due to an unexpected injury that limits my ability to care for him physically and financially. He deserves a loving home that can give him attention, exercise, and affection! All his supplies included in adoption fee.

Story
Hi, I’m Pixie — Professional Snuggler, Part-Time Comedian I may be part German Shorthaired Pointer and part Blue Heeler (with a few mystery sprinkles mixed in), but don’t let that fool you—I’m more of a cuddle-on-the-couch than run-a-marathon kind of girl. At just two years old, I’ve already perfected my skills: loving kids, making friends with other dogs, giving cats their personal space, and keeping your house accident-free. I’ve got the smarts from my Pointer side and the loyalty from my Heeler roots, but what I really bring to the table is warmth. Think of me as your furry weighted blanket with a tail wag. So if you’ve been waiting for the perfect best friend—sweet, social, and snuggly—well… I’m right here. Now let’s go home and claim our spot on the couch. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  ##2507063##

Story
We are looking to rehome our beloved dog, Malcom, to a caring and responsible household where he can thrive. Malcom is a six-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer/Border Collie mix who is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. He is a loyal, affectionate companion who forms strong bonds with his people, knows basic commands, and has a very active nature, so he will do best with someone who can provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and engagement. He does best in a calm, stable environment and, for his comfort and well-being, needs to be the only dog in the home, as he does not do well sharing space with other dogs. He does not have experience around small children, so a home without young kids or with older children would be the best fit. He would make a wonderful companion for someone who can match his energy level and give him the attention, structure, and love he deserves. Our priority is finding him a safe, understanding home where he can live happily and securely.

Story
Meet Liam! Liam is a handsome 6-year-old Pointer mix searching for his forever home. He’s the kind of dog who can do it all — he’d make a fantastic hiking or running buddy, but he’s just as happy being a relaxed homebody. Whatever your lifestyle looks like, Liam is ready to be right there with you. Liam is wonderful with kids and cats and currently lives with both. He also shares his foster home with teenagers and absolutely adores every little kid he meets. His gentle, loving nature makes him a great family companion. When it comes to other dogs, Liam is dog selective. He does best with calm, laid-back canine companions and isn’t a fan of high-energy puppy antics. In his foster homes, he has done well with older, easygoing dogs — especially when attention is shared fairly. Liam loves his people and wants to be included, and if another dog is getting all the affection while he’s left out, he may politely (or not-so-politely) remind you that he’s still there. Ideally, he’d love to be the center of attention or live with a mellow dog who enjoys doing their own thing too. Liam prefers spending time with his humans rather than engaging in dog play, and he thrives in a home where his need for companionship and balance is understood. Give him love, consistency, and a cozy place to land, and he’ll return it with loyalty and affection. If you’re looking for a devoted, adaptable, and kid-loving dog who can join you on adventures and relax by your side at the end of the day, Liam could be the perfect match If you are interested in adopting Liam, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY-A-1277 **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. If you need to reach us regarding your application, the best way to contact us is through email.** We are located in Fayette County, GA and are a foster based rescue without a shelter building.

Story
Are you looking for a loving dog who would love to take naps on your lap? Emillia is looking for a family that is ready for the excitement of a puppy, but who is already past most of the puppy challenging stages. This sweetheart is crate and potty trained, has all her shot and is spayed and is working on leash training and recall. Her favorite things are playing fetch and tug of war, but she also likes being outside and watching the birds and squirrels. Emillia will need to be in a home with another playful dog to help her build some confidence. When first meeting Emillia she becomes shy and unsure, but she warms up quickly. The vet expects her to be between 50-60lbs, and this girl adores mealtime and treats. The best home for Emillia would be one with a fenced in yard as she blossoms in familiar surroundings. Emillia has done well with children and cats so she should fit in with most households. Emillia is happy to sleep in her crate, in a bed on the floor or in the bed with you at night. When crated she doesn’t make a peep and waits patiently for you to open the door so she can give you all her love. She is in the teething stage, but her love for antlers keeps her occupied. Emillia has a velvet muzzle and belly, unique spots and a brindle mask, making her visually gorgeous. Her foster family adores her and knows once adopted she brighten the life of her family. If you would like to learn more about Emillia please apply with Hero Dog Rescue. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policy, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Meet George — a handsome Lab/Hound/Pointer mix with soulful eyes and a heart of gold. Found November 2024, he's been in a loving foster home ever since. George thrives on daily exercise and ball chasing, then happily melts onto the couch beside you. Affectionate but never overbearing. He lives peacefully with three indoor cats and does great with female dogs. Fully housebroken, neutered, and vaccinated. High prey drive — a securely fenced yard and leash outdoors are a must. Adoption requires a signed agreement. We'd love an adopter willing to share updates on this special boy. Located near Union City, GA.

Meet Jason — the Snoopy look-alike with a BIG personality!Jason’s profile looks just like the famous Snoopy, and his goofy charm matches it perfectly. He’s the kind of dog who makes you laugh one minute and curl up for snuggles the next. His hobbies include harvesting sticks from the yard, sunbathing, and chilling with his people and canine friends.Jason came into our foster care when a Rover client was no longer able to keep him. Thankfully, Jason quickly fit right into our pack and daily routine with very little effort—which reflects his easygoing nature. He has excellent house manners, has never had an accident indoors, and gets along with every dog we’ve introduced him to.He truly is a GREAT dog and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, fun, low-drama addition to their home.Jason is fully vetted and ready for his forever home! He’ll also come with three months of HW and flea prevention!

Story
We found Onyx Obsidian on the street when he was a baby. After seeing if he belonged to anyone we took him home ,& have been investing in making sure he’s healthy. (he’s 3yrs, 1/18/23) Once comfortable we noticed he has bad separation anxiety, to where he becomes quite stressed. My career causes for me to travel too often for him to be as active as he needs, & at 1st that was our obstacle. However, Oct 2024-April 2025 I wasn't able to walk after being in a car accident; & that hindered the progress we made in his routine. He’s such a sweet boy, protective, & actually asks like a cat; which always makes me laugh. His fun facts: he’ll lay next to you when you’re crying, he's very athletic, &all he wants is someone to give him attention/cuddles. In a new home I want: someone who will keep him SAFE/STABLE, a home w/ a fenced in backyard for him to play(run freely 20+ mins), & if you have children/friendly fur babies even better as he's learning social skills. (will provide crate/safe toys)
