Story
Meet Tiny, a 75-pound "gentle giant" who is every bit as magnificent as his name is ironic. At just 1.5 years old, this stunning boy is looking for a fresh start with a family that truly understands and appreciates the unique majesty of his breed. Tiny is a social superstar who thrives on his daily pack walks with his canine friends. He is so well-behaved in public that he has even accompanied our rescue president, Steve, on shopping trips to the mall, where he handled the crowds and sights like a total pro. Like most of his breed, Tiny is incredibly loyal and has that classic, watchful "guardian" heart. We are looking for a savvy adopter—ideally someone with breed experience or a love for clear, consistent structure—who can continue to guide him with confidence and show him that his humans are in charge. If you have room in your heart (and on your rug) for a majestic, smart, and social giant, Tiny is your guy. You can apply to meet him at  https://muttsinneed.org/apply/adopt

Story
Three puppies, two males named Tommy Boy and Trouble, and one female named Robin, were found as strays and taken to a kill shelter in Orange County. Tommy Boy and Robin both had parvo and Trouble had a fractured back leg. The AALOC team knew these young dogs didn’t stand a chance with their medical issues and would be euthanized, so a volunteer pulled them out of the kill shelter to receive the medical attention they needed and the chance to find forever homes at AALOC. Tommy Boy was treated for his parvo and has fully recovered. Tommy Boy’s coat is white and he is the biggest of the three puppies. We believe he is a Great Pyrenees mix but will probably not grow as large as a full bred Great Pyrenees. Tommy Boy is very playful and very sweet. He likes to be the center of attention and loves pets. We recommend he be adopted by someone who can provide the exercise he will need as a very active dog. Please apply to adopt Tommy Boy at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Tommy Boy and get to know him a bit. Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on our adoption policies visit our website at www.AALOC.org or contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.

ROVER 3 years old | Great Pyrenees | Gentle Giant   Meet Rover — an absolutely fabulous Great Pyrenees with a heart as big as his fluffy paws. Around 3 years old, he’s the perfect mix of calm, loyal, and loving. Rover has had extensive training and already knows how to carry himself like a well-mannered gentleman, making him an easy fit for family life.   He is wonderful with other dogs, great with people, and especially loves kids. Rover is the kind of sweet, steady companion who is just as happy joining you on relaxed adventures as he is settling in close to his favorite humans at home.   If you’re looking for a gentle, devoted best friend with classic Pyr charm and excellent manners to match, Rover might just be your perfect match.     For a complete list of our pets and photos please visit our website fochp.org  June 13, 2026, 3:31 pm

Story
Willow has always been a very sweet girl. She very energetic and goofy but just happy all the time. She loves cuddles and play time. We just don’t have the space that Willow needs to get her energy out and we just think she could have a better life with someone else. She would be a great livestock protector I believe.

Story
Tengu is a sweet, goofy XL puppy. He is in foster with other dogs but is dog-selective and has an “alpha” personality. He prefers to be where his humans are - chilling out watching tv, helping you cook, following you to the bathroom, playing fetch in the backyard - and would love a home with hiking, camping, and family adventures. He loves following you around like a shadow, but can also be overprotective of his humans, typical of guardian breeds. He can be reactive on leash around strangers, so an experienced handler ready to train is a must.
