Story
Meet Valerie — a thoughtful, gentle soul who is learning just how safe and good the world can be. Valerie is a 9 month old Pyrenees/Shepherd mix and currently weighs 55 pounds. She has been working hard in training and making wonderful progress as she learns to trust. She’s a sensitive girl who approaches new people with caution, but with calm, positive introductions, her confidence continues to grow every day. Once she feels safe, Valerie shows her sweet, affectionate side and forms deep bonds with her people. Valerie would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands fearful dogs and is willing to go at her pace. She can be fearful of strangers initially, but patient, low-pressure interactions work wonders for her; sitting down, offering quiet encouragement and letting Valerie choose when to engage helps her feel secure and successful. In the home, Valerie is calm, well-mannered, and a joy to live with. She is house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash. She enjoys relaxing with her person, quietly playing with her squeaky toys, and soaking up peaceful companionship. Valerie is also good with cats, and while she doesn’t need another dog in the home, she could do well with a confident, friendly canine companion who can help model bravery. Valerie loves the simple pleasures: long naps, gentle affection, hunting for acorns, splashing in the water, and stretching her legs in the sunshine. A home with a yard is her best fit, as she enjoys outdoor time and space to explore at her own pace. Apartment living would not be ideal for this nature-loving girl. Because Valerie thrives in calm, predictable environments, she would do best in a home with no children. Valerie is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and up to date on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. She’s a quiet, loyal companion who is blossoming more each day and with the right family, she’ll continue to shine. If you’re looking for a soft-hearted, devoted pup and are willing to let trust grow naturally, Valerie may be the perfect match for you. All of our adopted dogs are transported using only trusted, reputable transport partners to ensure a safe journey to their forever homes up North.

Story
Meet Jack!! This big 80 lb handsome bundle of floof was rescued from a high kill shelter just in the nick of time!! While he was heavily matted and a big underweight, this gentle giant was all smiles and totally unbothered by the chaos at the shelter. He is now in a home with other dogs and kids and getting rave reviews! He is great in a crate, housetrained, and already knows "sit" AND "shake"! He does well in the car and is just an all around Very Good Boy. He will make an excellent, fun, and easy going companion, and with proper nutrition his beautiful coat is going to shine! Jack is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested ****** for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Yuki is a 3 year old 86 pound Great Pyrenees! He is being fostered in Huntsville,AL and is available for transport and the approved adopter will be responsible for the transport fee. Yuki was primarily raised as an indoor pup without other pup playmates, so exhibits some stress when alone. He has loved being at his foster’s with a big yard and other dogs to play with. He does well with dogs of all sizes and has quickly realized and become sensitive to the fact that he is too large for some of his 20 lb playmates, which is really good. He has become pretty gentle in his few weeks at his fosters, primarily because he gets a lot of outdoor play time. He does need a pup playmate close to his size that provides him a since of security. He has been diagnosed with a seizure issue and takes daily medication, levetirace, for it. His foster is still learning about him, but so far, he is just a great happy boy. If you are interested in adopting Yuki please fill out an application on our website forrescue.net. He is being fostered in Huntsville, AL.

Story
Dottie has the biggest bestest smile and greeting of any dog you could ever meet!!! Her curly tail spins in circles when it wags, and she shuffles through the house, sounding like grandma in a bathrobe and slippers! She is the happiest soul and so extraordinarily gentle, did not develop quite properly so her hips are quite small for her size. She loves going on a walk and can easily do a mile around a hilly neighborhood. She has to take her time on stairs, but she can get them done without issue. Her entire body is just a little out of alignment, she walks out an angle in her smile is also a little bit crooked and derpy making her absolutely positively adorable!! She will be your biggest happiest greeter at the door, and the same goes for any other dogs you may have— she is thrilled when they return from being away!! Just as any good Pyrenees would be, she likes to sit out in the yard and keep guard of what’s going on. She is a house dog, though, and a giant bed hog! she will also be your dinner alarm, making lots of ridiculous noises at exactly feeding time reminding you that you might be just a little bit late and she is starving. She has personality galore and is an absolute doll!! She gets along great with other dogs, cats, kids. She needs a little boost getting into higher cars/suvs but loves to be included in anything you do. Fenced yard required. Contact irondawgs13@gmail.com for adoption application.
