Yuki is a 2 year old 86 pound Great Pyrenees! He is being fostered in Huntsville,AL and is available for transport and the approved adopter will be responsible for the transport fee. Yuki was primarily raised as an indoor pup without other pup playmates, so exhibits some stress when alone. He has loved being at his foster’s with a big yard and other dogs to play with. He does well with dogs of all sizes and has quickly realized and become sensitive to the fact that he is too large for some of his 20 lb playmates, which is really good. He has become pretty gentle in his few weeks at his fosters, primarily because he gets a lot of outdoor play time. He does need a pup playmate close to his size that provides him a since of security. He has been diagnosed with a seizure issue and takes daily medication, levetirace, for it. His foster is still learning about him, but so far, he is just a great happy boy. Meet Valerie — a thoughtful, gentle soul who is learning just how safe and good the world can be. Valerie is a 9 month old Pyrenees/Shepherd mix and currently weighs 55 pounds. She has been working hard in training and making wonderful progress as she learns to trust. She’s a sensitive girl who approaches new people with caution, but with calm, positive introductions, her confidence continues to grow every day. Once she feels safe, Valerie shows her sweet, affectionate side and forms deep bonds with her people. Valerie would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands fearful dogs and is willing to go at her pace. She can be fearful of strangers initially, but patient, low-pressure interactions work wonders for her; sitting down, offering quiet encouragement and letting Valerie choose when to engage helps her feel secure and successful. In the home, Valerie is calm, well-mannered, and a joy to live with. She is house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash. She enjoys relaxing with her person, quietly playing with her squeaky toys, and soaking up peaceful companionship. Valerie is also good with cats, and while she doesn’t need another dog in the home, she could do well with a confident, friendly canine companion who can help model bravery. Valerie loves the simple pleasures: long naps, gentle affection, hunting for acorns, splashing in the water, and stretching her legs in the sunshine. A home with a yard is her best fit, as she enjoys outdoor time and space to explore at her own pace. Apartment living would not be ideal for this nature-loving girl. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. If you’re looking for the sweetest, mushiest, most tender loving gentle giant, Beau is the boy of your dreams! This absolutely gorgeous boy came into rescue with his husky companion when their family went through a devastating event which forced them to lose their home and their animals. Beau was raised by a family who absolutely loves him and wanted to ensure he would have the absolute best future. Thankfully a wonderful foster home didn’t hesitate to take him and his friend into their home and take excellent care of them until they find a wonderful future with committed homes. Beau was born on 8/2/22, so he’s just turned 3. He’s a big boy at around 80 lbs, but not a giant. He’s such a tender personality that his size is easy to love. He’s now had all medical work completed including vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, microchipping, he’s current on preventative and neutered! He’s a healthy happy ham of a boy and he’s ready to find his forever home! When Beau came in, he was accompanied by his besty, a female Siberian husky. We tried to place them as a bonded pair but unfortunately it’s proven difficult to find a home for them both together. In the interest of not holding up their lives and getting them to their dream homes, we have decided we will allow them to be placed separately. Beaus been raised his entire life by a family with young children, cats, dogs, horses, cows, chickens and goats! He’s had absolutely incredible socialization and is amazing with other animals and everyone he meets! Beau has had great house manners and reliably goes potty outside! He has an overall easy going personality, loving to snuggle in the sofa, take walks, play in the water, play with other dogs, and enjoy nature! He is more of a country boy, and will do great in a home with a yard where he can soak up the peace and beauty that nature offers. He’d love to live with another dog whom he can snuggle and play with, but it isn’t a requirement. His main dream is parents who will be head over heels in love with him! He loves humans of all ages, he’s an overall remarkably tender, sweet soul. It’s just an added bonus that is so super handsome! He’s longing for devoted parents who will commit to him and adore him for life, where he can have a little bit of land, love, and adventure by your side!
