Story
Meet Valerie — a thoughtful, gentle soul who is learning just how safe and good the world can be. Valerie is a 9 month old Pyrenees/Shepherd mix and currently weighs 55 pounds. She has been working hard in training and making wonderful progress as she learns to trust. She’s a sensitive girl who approaches new people with caution, but with calm, positive introductions, her confidence continues to grow every day. Once she feels safe, Valerie shows her sweet, affectionate side and forms deep bonds with her people. Valerie would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands fearful dogs and is willing to go at her pace. She can be fearful of strangers initially, but patient, low-pressure interactions work wonders for her; sitting down, offering quiet encouragement and letting Valerie choose when to engage helps her feel secure and successful. In the home, Valerie is calm, well-mannered, and a joy to live with. She is house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash. She enjoys relaxing with her person, quietly playing with her squeaky toys, and soaking up peaceful companionship. Valerie is also good with cats, and while she doesn’t need another dog in the home, she could do well with a confident, friendly canine companion who can help model bravery. Valerie loves the simple pleasures: long naps, gentle affection, hunting for acorns, splashing in the water, and stretching her legs in the sunshine. A home with a yard is her best fit, as she enjoys outdoor time and space to explore at her own pace. Apartment living would not be ideal for this nature-loving girl. Because Valerie thrives in calm, predictable environments, she would do best in a home with no children. Valerie is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and up to date on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. She’s a quiet, loyal companion who is blossoming more each day and with the right family, she’ll continue to shine. If you’re looking for a soft-hearted, devoted pup and are willing to let trust grow naturally, Valerie may be the perfect match for you. All of our adopted dogs are transported using only trusted, reputable transport partners to ensure a safe journey to their forever homes up North.

Story
Meet Nonny: The Professional Bubble-Popper & Outdoor Adventurer! Are you looking for a partner-in-crime who is equal parts "working dog" and "total goofball"? Meet Nonny, a stunning 1-year-old Australian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees mix. At 55lbs, he’s the perfect medium-large size for hiking, patrolling, and snuggling. Nonny is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky guy who is looking for a home where he can truly be himself—without an HOA telling him to pipe down! 🌟 The Nonny Personality Profile Goby is a vibrant soul with a list of hobbies that will keep you laughing: • The Entertainer: He is obsessed with chasing bugs, popping bubbles, and playing in the water hose. Yard work becomes a party when Nonny is around! • The Professional: True to his breeds, he loves to "patrol" his territory. He’s a vigilant protector who takes his job seriously. • The Socialite: He is incredibly loving and playful, though he isn't shy about being "vocal" or demanding your attention when he feels ignored. • The Student: He is already house and kennel trained, making his transition into a new home much smoother. 🏡 What Nonny Needs in a Forever Home Nonny is a "big personality" dog, and he needs a family that can match his zest for life: • Space to Roam: Because he’s a vocal lad who loves to explore, he’d thrive in a home with a large yard or, ideally, out in the country. (No HOA-restricted neighborhoods, please—he’s got too much to say!) • Mental & Physical Stimulation: As an aggressive chewer who can get a bit "reconstructive" when bored, Nonny needs plenty of tough toys and daily exercise to keep his brain and jaw busy. • Active Companions: If you love exploring the great outdoors, Goby is your ultimate wingman. Health & Vetting Nonny is "turn-key" and ready to go! • Status: Neutered Male • Health: Fully vaccinated & Heartworm Negative • Extras: Current on all monthly preventatives and microchipped with a lifetime registration included. Currently located/fostering in Texas but available with transport included. Our adoption process includes speaking with current foster/caretaker for additional personality information, pictures, video, and video call (if available). We work with trusted rescue transports that take great care of the fur babies and keep adopters and rescues in the loop the entire trip with dedicated group chats and Life360 tracking, so you know exactly how they are doing and where they are at always. Adoption fee: $400, includes transport.

Story
Mr. Perfect is a charming little gentleman with the sweetest smile and a heart full of love. He adores gentle cuddles, playful moments, and being by your side no matter what. With his loving nature and puppy-dog devotion, Mr. Perfect truly lives up to his name. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
