Story
weight 80 lbs 11 months old as of 4/14/2024 adoption donation $499 Lila is such a sweetheart! She is a VERY loving and gentle girl and definitely a Velcro dog—she is by your side or at your feet. She just loves to be petted and put her big head on your lap when you sit down. Lila would love to be a lapdog but has learned she’s a bit too big. But she does fall madly in love with her people!     Lila recently arrived in the northeast and settled in quickly in her foster home. She is an easy dog, if you leave her alone, she will just sleep and greet you with a very wagging tail when you return.    Lila adores children and would love to be in a family, she just loves to be in the mix. She walks well on a leash and is perfectly potty trained. She’s not a barker, she will just announce if someone comes to the door and then stop and wag her tail wildly at your guest.    Lila and her siblings were left in a cardboard box by the side of the road in rural Mississippi with a note saying "free puppies." Fortunately Wags stepped in and took the family in. One by one Wags brought her siblings up to loving homes, now it’s sweet Lila’s turn!     Lila loves to play with other dogs but  if there’s food or a toy involved  she becomes possessive and is definitely the alpha. She lived with cats at one  time and ignored them. We  haven’t seen her around them lately, but she does not appear to have a prey drive and is pretty slow moving so we think she would be fine.        Lila likes her crate and loves to gnaw on bones. She's a wonderful companion dog and will make a very loving and loyal member of the family. Story
Sweet Suzy is (we're guessing) about 4 years old and 75 pounds of love and fun! This sweetheart was picked up as a stray back in the coldest part of Winter and we are SOOOOO glad that we were able to help her when she needed help. Her first foster home had a couple of smallish humans, and she did great with all of them. Her current foster home doesn't have smallish humans, but it does have several doggies of different sizes and a kitty that she doesn't mind sharing space with in the least. She walks nicely on leash, enjoys a car ride, would be a model citizen at the doggy park and is a great couch snuggler while watching Bravo. If you're looking for a lot of love with 4 paws, this is the girl for you. This adorable chunk will be a fabulously fun addition to any loving home. Apply for her today at cprdogs.com. :) Suzy is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Sully is 4 years of age & huge at 98 lbs. Been with goats & other dogs and does very well. Gentle but a powerhouse. His person decided to surrender him due to his roaming and afraid he'd be shot. He had 100 acres but was just a good boy looking for a job, treats, and friends He hasn't been in the house and being with that said he isn't a destructive dog. He doesn't tear things up or destroys things laying about. Looking for a family to live the best life he is meant to live. Sully is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested Pos for heartworms. Story
Lani is one of 5 pups taken to rescue and is looking for her forever family to give her a loving home. She is about 11 weeks old and is ready to travel on 5/8 transport. We know she is mixed with Great Pyrenees and unsure of her other breeds. She will be on the larger side when fully grown. Lani will make a great companion to any size family, whether one or 15! She would love to take walks or jogs with her human and then curl up on the couch for a good nap. Go ahead and apply for this beautiful girl so she can get ready to come to you!!! Lani (5/8) Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm.
