Story
Meet Valerie – The Gentle Black Beauty Born on April 13, 2025, Valerie’s start to life wasn’t easy. At just five months old, she and her sister, Della, were rescued by a kind Samaritan after being found abandoned in a culvert drain. When they first arrived, the pair trusted only each other. After a week to decompress, Della moved to a new foster home while Valerie stayed at the Good Catch Farm, where she soon made friends with all of the dogs in rescue. Valerie is a reserved, thoughtful girl who prefers to take her time warming up to new people and situations. She does best with slow introductions, and we’ve noticed she’s a bit cautious around tall men, likely a reminder of her past. Sitting down and letting her come to you works wonders for building trust. Her DNA results gave us insight into her nature; part Pyrenees and Shepherd, she has a strong, expressive bark that she uses sparingly but effectively when she’s uncertain or alerting to strangers. In the home, Valerie is the definition of calm and well-mannered. She enjoys lounging alongside her person with her squeaky toys, is house trained, crate trained and walks beautifully on leash. She’d do best in a home without small children; older kids who understand gentle introductions would be ideal. Valerie deserves every chance for success, and we’ll provide her adopters with all the guidance they need to help her continue to blossom. This sweet girl loves naps, quiet companionship, hunting for acorns and a good splash in the water. She’s gentle, affectionate and will surely thrive in a home that offers patience, soft words and the enrichment every young pup deserves. A home with a yard is her best match as she enjoys soaking up the sun and stretching her legs every morning. Apartment living would not suit her well. Valerie is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and up-to-date on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal companion who’s ready to share her heart, Valerie may be your perfect match. All of our adopted dogs are transported using only trusted, reputable transport partners to ensure a safe journey to their forever homes up North.

Story
Yuki is a 2 year old 86 pound Great Pyrenees! He is being fostered in Huntsville,AL and is available for transport and the approved adopter will be responsible for the transport fee. Yuki was primarily raised as an indoor pup without other pup playmates, so exhibits some stress when alone. He has loved being at his foster’s with a big yard and other dogs to play with. He does well with dogs of all sizes and has quickly realized and become sensitive to the fact that he is too large for some of his 20 lb playmates, which is really good. He has become pretty gentle in his few weeks at his fosters, primarily because he gets a lot of outdoor play time. He does need a pup playmate close to his size that provides him a since of security. He has been diagnosed with a seizure issue and takes daily medication, levetirace, for it. His foster is still learning about him, but so far, he is just a great happy boy. If you are interested in adopting Yuki please fill out an application on our website forrescue.net. He is being fostered in Huntsville, AL.

Story
Morty is an all around Very Good Boy and he's looking for a home of his own! We honestly aren't entirely sure about his breed combo- we're making our best estimation based on his appearance and his double dew claws, but wouldn't be surprised to be proven wrong with a DNA test. What we do know for sure is that this 1-2 yr old, 55 lb, absolutely handsome guy is going to make a really wonderful new family member. He loves people, he gets along great with other dogs, he has a fun amount of energy (enjoys regular walks and playing around outdoors, but won't require a 5 mile run daily), and he has a great personality. He recently visited the animal sciences department at the local college and was a HUGE hit with the students and made lots of friends. He is doing great in foster care- he is potty trained, crate trained, sits on command, and overall has great manners in the house. Morty is going to make a great addition to his new home and if you'd like to meet him, we'd love to hear from you! Morty is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested negative for heartworms. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

*Name: Neo *Age: 3 years old *Current Weight: 102 lbs  *Adoption fee: $400 Introducing Neo, a magnificent great pyranees mix with a heart as open as the ocean and a soul that connects deeply with those around him; dogs and humans alike. Weighing in at around 100 pounds, Neo, with his soft white coat and solid build, embodies calm and stability. He saunters with effortless confidence; serenely moving through life akin to a blue whale gliding through the sea.  True to the nature of a guardian dog, Neo has an incredible ability to read other dog’s energy and adjust his to fit theirs. He is the center of almost every playgroup at the Adoption Center and we use Neo to help other sensitive dogs learn to trust who are not as confident with other dogs. To thrive, Neo needs ample time spent outside walking, exploring and tapping into nature. Neo has been through a lot in his short life. After he was left abandoned in an overcrowded shelter and was pulled to safety we realized he also has epilepsy. Luckily, it is currently being controlled with regular medication and he is supported by our neurologist.  Neo is undoubtedly a special soul inside and out. We know he’d do best in a home with outdoor space he can roam, a doggie companion or two and humans who appreciate his guardian dog characteristics! Neo is so ready to find his forever. Could that be you? Come meet him and experience his unwavering devotion and gentle spirit! Story
*Name: Kennedy *Age: 4 years old *Weight:  *Adoption fee: $400 Meet Kennedy – A Beautiful, Sensitive Soul Looking for Her Special Place in the World With her soft golden coat, soulful eyes, and gentle spirit, Kennedy turns heads wherever she goes. She may look like a golden retriever, but she’s actually a stunning mix of Great Pyrenees and other breeds – the best of many worlds. And while her beauty is obvious, it’s her heart that makes her truly special. Kennedy was adopted as a puppy by a loving family who gave her the best start in life. She grew up surrounded by children and other dogs, and she’s always been a loyal, affectionate, and incredibly smart companion. But Kennedy is also a deeply sensitive girl. Over time, her anxieties have become harder to manage in a busy home, and with enormous love and sadness, her family has made the incredibly difficult decision to help her find a home better suited to her emotional needs. Kennedy thrives on routine, calm energy, and patience. She loves being outside – running, playing, sniffing, sunbathing – that’s her happy place. She’s fantastic on a leash and would make the perfect walking buddy. Indoors, she’s just as happy curled up by your side, enjoying snuggles and quiet companionship. Where Kennedy needs support is with her insecurities. She has a history of resource guarding, especially around food and tight spaces. She has made progress, and we truly believe she can continue to improve in a more structured, peaceful environment. We are looking for a very special, experienced, and calm home for Kennedy – someone who sees past the challenges and into her huge, loving heart. She’s not for everyone, but for the right person or family, Kennedy will be the most loyal and rewarding companion you could ask for.  Kennedy is: Spayed and up-to-date on all vet care Great with dogs and kids, but would do best in a home with awareness of her needs Housebroken and leash-trained Not destructive and has excellent manners Best suited for a low-traffic, adult-only or older-children home Kennedy has so much love to give – she just needs someone who understands that sometimes the most wonderful dogs are also the ones who need the most understanding. If you think you might be the one to give Kennedy the peace, patience, and love she deserves, please reach out. Her perfect match is out there – and we know they’re going to be so lucky to find her. ##2411949##
