Story
Meet Avalanche Avalanche is a 23 year old, 74 lb Great Pyrenees who truly just wants to be close to his people.Hes incredibly friendly, affectionate, and great with kids, adults, and other dogs. He thrives on connection and isnt shy about asking for it leaning in for pets or climbing right into your lap like he weighs 10 pounds instead of 74.A volunteer recently spent time with him and got the full experience one paw turned into two, and before long, his whole fluffy self was stretched across her lap.Need your very own therapy dog? Avalanche is ready to clock in. Had a tough day? Hes already there to make it better. With a medium energy level, hes the perfect mix of fun and calm. Hes gentle, attentive, and eager to please, and he shines at adoption events. We truly cant believe hes still here but we know the right home will see just how special he is.Apply at www.caninecollective.org

Story
Louie is a gorgeous Great Pyrenees mix, approximately 2-3 years old, who was released by his owner. Louie is friendly and loves people. He will do best with kids over 6 due to his size (he is currently 90 pounds). Louie should do fine with other dogs but NO CATS for Louie. He is housetrained. Great Pyrenees are typically affectionate, patient, and gentle with children, but they can also be independent thinkers. They do best in homes that appreciate their guardian instincts and can give them space, consistent guidance, and plenty of love. Louie has tested negative for heartworm, has been neutered, and is current on vaccinations. You will receive health records and a bag of Hill's Science Diet pet food upon adoption. Adoption donation $280. Please complete the pre-adoption questionnaire at: https://www.cchspets.com/adoption-pre-qualifier We will contact you via email. Please check your spam/junk folders!

Story
🐾🩵Meet Newton! Who has also gotten the nickname Fig! If you've ever dreamed of having a big, fluffy best friend who doubles as a professional snuggle buddy, Newton may be your perfect match! We believe this gentle giant is a Newfoundland and Great Pyrenees mix - meaning he comes fully equipped with a soft coat, soulful eyes and a whole lot of love to give. Newton can be a bit timid when meeting new people or when he's in an unfamiliar environment. It being best for him to have a home without children and a more quiet and consistent home environment. With a bit of time (and maybe a nice bonding walk), and you'll quickly see his loyal and affectionate side shine through. Once he feels comfortable, he's a total cuddle bug who enjoys being close to his people. During Newton's time in a foster home we learned he does not do well with cats, finding it would be best if Newton was in a cat free home. Newton also seemed to appear dog selective when his foster's had him on walks. If you have another dog at home, we require dog meet and greets at the shelter! Newton keeps his kennel impressively clean and hasn't had any accidents since arriving to the shelter - a great sign of good potty habits! The only "messy" habit to note is a little extra drool... but we like to call that just part of his charm! If you are looking for a big-hearted companion who will reward your patience with loyalty, affection and plenty of cozy moments, Newton is ready to steal your heart! If you are interested in adopting or fostering Newton please feel free to fill out an application!🩵🐾

Story
Meet Holland Tulip! She’s a 15 week-old Female Spayed Great Pyrenees mix who currently weighs 28 pounds. While she likely will not reach the size of a purebred Great Pyrenees, she is still expected to grow into a large dog—likely around 80 pounds. Holland Tulip was rescued from a shelter in Kentucky and is now ready to find her forever family. She is incredibly loving and does wonderfully with both other dogs and children. She has not been been tested with cats.  She’s a quick learner and has already made amazing progress—she is crate trained and doing great with her potty training! She’s currently working on basic commands and leash training. Holland Tulip has the perfect balance of playful and sweet—she loves to play hard, then curl up for snuggles and a cozy nap. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger future, Holland Tulip is ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and cuddles. Could you be the one she’s been waiting for? Check her out on Adopt A Pit! She truly is the best puppy!  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   May 1, 2026, 5:59 pm
