Story
Azalea is a beautiful and loving 3-4 months Great Pyrenees mix puppy. She gets along with her foster dog siblings and kid friendly. She’s is doing very well on house training and has started crate training. She is working on leash training as well. Does well in the car. She enjoys her kong with peanut butter and antlers to chew on. She loves to lay in the grass and hang out outside in the backyard. She even loves relaxing in a hammock! Enjoys a belly rub and cuddling on the couch. Please consider welcoming Azalea into your home. — with Val Turner and Kamela Kordik. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   April 28, 2024, 4:56 pm

Story
Fred is a very good dog. He is loving, and good tempered. He would do best on a farm, or a large property. He loves to be outside, and patrol the yard. He is very territorial, and so he will bark if/when someone comes to the door. He is housebroken, crate trained, and is overall very well behaved. We have children, and he is always very patient with them. He is shy to newcomers, so it may take him a minute to warm up to you, but once he does he will love you forever. The other thing to mention is that he is very territorial over his food, so he should be fed by himself, and not with another animal around. Other than that, he is a very good boy!

Story
Joey and Katie came to the Sanctuary together and have always been together. Joey takes all of his cues from her. He is a timid boy which takes some time to get to know. Once he loves you he will follow you anywhere, as long as Katie does too. After working with him a couple of months we are able to walk him with the pack of dogs at the Sanctuary but he still needs vigilant supervision with them. He is good with Katie but doesn't seem to know how to interact with the others and can become agitated with them. Joey and Katie seem to have had little socialization outside of their own yard. A positive reinforcement trainer would be great to have on hand when adopting them. They do need adopted as a set currently. We were hoping to work on Joeys socialization skills enough that they could be separated but it hasn't worked out as so. Katie would do fine but we fear Joey would fall apart. They are both large teddy bear dogs and would do well in a large fenced area. They like to come in but as long as they don't get too hot or wet they like hanging out outside. If your interested in adopting Joey and Katie it will take multiple visits before they are comfortable with you enough to go home. To adopt them please go to www.libertyacresunited.com and submit your application. Their adoption fee together is $150. For more information you can call or text 765-969-4782 For more information on the animals available for adoption and more information on the Sanctuary please visit us a www.libertyacresunited.com and don't forget to follow us on Facebook

Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Harley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!
