Story
I found Luna running in the middle of the street dodging cars. She wasn’t chipped and had no collar, and no owner ever came forward after I posted her in local groups and contacted shelters. I got her microchipped with my information so she wouldn’t end up lost again. Luna is a very sweet, friendly, playful girl. She’s potty trained, knows basic commands, and does well with other dogs. I don’t have kids or other pets, so I’m not sure how she is with them, but she’s been gentle with everyone she’s met. She does have her rabies vaccine, but will still need her other routine shots. I work two jobs and I’m hardly home, so Luna doesn’t get the time or space she deserves. She would do best in a family home or with someone who has a yard or land where she can run and play. She’s truly a wonderful dog. She will come with her crate, food, and toys to help her adjust smoothly.

Heartworms are treatable, and with the right care (which our team is happy to talk to you about low cost treatment options in our area), I can go on to live a long, happy, and healthy life. Many wonderful dogs like me test positive for heartworms through no fault of our own and we just need a little extra TLC and some time to heal. The most important thing I need right now is a loving home where I can rest, recover, and feel safe. Please don’t let the word heartworm make you pass me by, I have so much love to give, and I promise I’ll make every bit of the journey worth it. If you’re looking for an amazing dog who’s ready for a fresh start, I’m your new best friend. At Arlington Animal Services, every dog is individually evaluated by multiple members of our experienced team. When a dog is placed into our adoption program, it means they have shown friendly behavior toward people and other dogs, and no negative behaviors have been observed in our shelter environment. If you already have a dog at home, we encourage you to bring them to the shelter for an official meet-and-greet to help ensure a smooth and happy introduction. Available for adoption at Arlington Animal Services Shelter Address: 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd. Arlington, TX 76018 Shelter Hours: Tuesday- Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
