She was rescued from the side of the road by an elderly woman who nursed her back to health. She is still currently with her rescuer foster mom who would love to keep her, but she feels like she is too old. She is wonderful with absolutely everything she loves to play and would do great with a doggy companion, she is located outside of Dallas. She is housebroken and wonderful on a leash.

Story
Sweet girl was rescued with her brother, their old owner died, they were left unattended with Livestock. They are great with an array of livestock, and currently in a livestock guardianship ranch style foster home. They could go as pets with benefits to small, hobby farms, that plan to acquire animals, they could be great pets, and they could also do guardianship. We would love for them to go to a Home together. If not, we do require doggy companionship in the home.

**COURTESY LISTING- THIS IS NOT AN EPIC DOG. PLEASE CONTACT CAN.ADOPTIONS@YAHOO.COM FOR MORE INFORMATION*** PERFECT, ADORABLE GIRL!  BEST PERSONALITY!!!  Freya is an all-star!  We can't say enough about her personality and temperament.  -- Very affectionate.  Loves all people and children.  -- Rides VERY well in a car!  -- Is EXTREMELY intelligent and learns quickly  -- Loves to play with other dogs  -- Was introduced to a "clinic cat" and was fine with him   I have rescued and rehomed over 1500 sweet dogs, and I can truly say that Freya is one in a million.  Just watching her run and play will make you fall in love with her.  She is all legs and when she runs she looks exactly like a young colt!  At 9 months of age her behavior is uncannily perfect when meeting a new dog.  She seems to intuit how to interact and react – as if she knows how they are feeling and what actions would put them at ease.  She will chase, do a play bow, and sweetly lie down showing she is not a threat or aggressive. Freya is great with dogs, great with children and rides wonderfully in a car. She does not bark unless there is a reason.  And rather than bark, she “talks”.  Freya is learning to play fetch – well, she is learning to bring it back.  She has the “chase and fetch” part down cold!   Originally, I put Freya up on the website as an American Foxhound.  She looks EXACTLY like the pictures of this breed.  But we decided to use Wisdom Panel and have her DNA processed.  Talk about a SHOCK!!!  According to the test results, Freya is 30% Saint Bernard, 24% Great Pyrenees, 12% Australian Shepherd, 10% Labrador Retriever, and then 9 other various breeds.  Freya is 40 pounds at 9 months of age.  She will likely NOT be anywhere near the size of a Saint Bernard or a Great Pyrenees but has the lovely personality and temperament of these two wonderful breeds. I cannot say enough what a JOY it is to have Freya in my home. If I were in a position to adopt a dog, she would be my choice.  A companion and best friend. Freya is fully vetted, microchipped, and on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative.   FOR INFORMATION ON ADOPTING FREYA, PLEASE CALL 903-967-3226 or email can.adoptions@yahoo.comNovember 27, 2023, 12:59 pm

Story
Rogue was found at a friend’s apartment complex in July 2022, and we took her in with the idea of at least fostering her for a bit since the shelters in our area were full. She’s extremely intelligent, crate trained, knows how to shake, and does drool when she’s excited for food. She gets along well with our two other dogs, and is best friends with our cat. We are rehoming her as she is a high energy dog that needs a family that can provide her with the adequate play time she needs, walks, and/or has a big yard. We have a small house and yard, so unfortunately we had to come to terms that it is not fair for her to continue to keep her and not give her what she needs to not be bored.

Story
Hazle is a beautiful pup that we rescued about 9 months back when she was 4 months old. She was super shy and a little anxious upon arrival to our home but quickly became a big ball of love, energy and sass! She’s the sweetest girl when she breaks out of her shell. Unfortunately, a few months ago I had a change in job and didn’t have the same schedule to properly care for her. She spends most of her time in her cage and we take her out on walks, to the dog park, and on hikes where we can, but it’s just not enough. She’s a super intelligent girl, we often let her off leash on hikes, as she’s trained in off leash follow. She knows to sit, heel, shake, and semi-stay, she is house broken and will alert you by the door when a potty break is needed but is a ‘private pooper’ per say and would be comfortable with a patio or yard alone. We really won the lottery with our beautiful pooch, that’s why we know that she deserves a better home than the one we’re able to give her. Thank you so much❤️

Story
** COURTESY POST ** ** This animal is NOT at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, so please do not inquire with them ** ** For information contact Leonora Lowery; (972)802 9422  ** My name is Leonora Lowery and my daughter and I found a dog tied to a stop sign by a railroad track.  We assessed that he was not aggressive before removing the chains and putting him in our car and we brought him home. Once home, we put a harness on him and attempted to walk him in to a crate that was already set up for him by my son. The dog (we have named Oreo) would not leave the gravel drive of our home and we realized that he was hesitant to step on the grass and we can only deduce that he had never seen grass before. Where he was tied was also all gravel. We made several attempts to find him a home but time and resources limit us as to how much exposure we can give him.  We have a vet tech friend that estimated his age at about 1 1/2 - 2 years old and possibly a great pyr/ st. bernard mix. He is about 80 lbs, not neutered.  He is a sweet dog and has acclimated to the crate when indoors but desperately needs a home. We cannot keep him as our own dogs are all seniors and some in delicate health - namely our Anatolian Shepherd that is 100 lbs and has a rod replacing his shoulder. Oreo is still very much puppy and can be quite rambunctious and has already run into him once causing a little discomfort to him.  The other dogs here are smaller and do not like him because they find his size and energy intimidating so Oreo is sadly only able to be outside on his own and when we can play with him. I cannot bring myself to take him to a shelter as I feel he has been thru enough trauma.      December 1, 2023, 12:34 pm
