Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet India!  Born around October 2021, this tender cutie pie weighs about 40 pounds and is long and lanky like a colt. She is friendly and sweet with people after she is a little reserved at first.  Her sad puppy eyes will win you over! She is playful with anything that moves!  She loves to run around outside and is very active.  She also loves basking in the cool morning sun. Our well-mannered girl is polite with people.  She never jumps up on anyone.  She would do best if kids in the house are equally docile, as she excels in a calm, unchanging environment. India needs a low-key doggy companion in her forever home.  She prefers dogs that are not overzealous.  She is a sensitive soul who is not that much into playing with other dogs.  She prefers to just hang out with them. She is good with cats, and does well with the ones that like dogs. She is housed trained, leash trained, and she rides nicely in a car.  She is very vocal and likes to bark outside. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Carson!  Born around November 2021, he weighs around 85 pounds. He is a happy boy with the most adorable freckles sprinkled on his muzzle. This handsome lovebug is obsessed with people.  He loves everyone and wants to be as close to you as possible.  He loves to gently give you his paw and sweetly give you kisses.  He’s a Velcro dog!  He might even climb in your lap if you allow it. Prior to coming to SPIN, Carson was running as a stray and had been hit by a car.  His back leg was broken and had to be amputated.  He is all healed now and walks great on his three remaining legs. Carson gets along great with other dogs.  He likes to “pet” the dogs in his foster home!  He’ll sit next to them, pat them on the head with his paw (pat, pat, pat), then switch to his other paw and give them more gentle pats.  So sweet! He loves to be raked!  When you use the undercoat grooming rake on him, he will lay there and roll around so you can get every nook and cranny! He could live in a multi-dog household or as your one-and-only best dog.  He is slightly playful, and occasionally enjoys picking up a toy.  His happiest place is with people. Sweet Carson is totally house trained.  He has no need for a crate.  He rides well in a car.  He doesn’t bark much. Carson will do best in a one-story home, so he doesn’t have to negotiate many stairs.  Children in the home should be old enough to understand that they shouldn’t lean on him, knocking him off balance. Carson will bring joy to your world. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Briscoe!  Born around May 2020, he is a big, handsome, lean boy at 90 pounds.  He looks like a full-blooded Great Pyrenees, yet has a partially blue eye. Briscoe has been a very easy foster.  He is affectionately called “Beeeeee” in his foster home.  He has never had an accident in the house, he has never tried to chew on anything, and he has pretty good house manners too. He is super goofy!  He has long legs that sometimes go all over the place when he runs.  He is social and outgoing with people.  He sometimes gets the zoomies and romps in the yard, but he also really enjoys lounging around and relaxing.  He enjoys stretching out on cool floors in the house or lounging on his cot on the back porch.  He doesn’t care much for stuffies or tug ropes, but he gets a kick out of shredding blankets in his crate. Briscoe loves cats! He can be a picky about his dog friends.  He needs a few meets and proper introductions before he accepts another dog as a friend.  He can be relaxed and enjoy their company and playing with them; however, he does not like to be dominated.  Any forever dog buddy would need to be the right personality match for him. Briscoe would be fine as an only dog.  He is happy hanging out with people and cats. He is house trained, leash trained, crate trained, and rides well in a car.  He is a barker!  He even barks at dogs on tv! Briscoe must have a secure 6’ fence, because he is a big strong boy and can jump a 4’ fence, and can manage to squeeze himself through small places when he wants to get somewhere. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Dixie!  This happy girl is 3-4 years old and sports a healthy 90-pound figure. We pulled her from a local shelter after she had been surrendered to them.  Even though she was covered in mats, her sweet temperament shined brightly. Dixie Belle sits patiently for grooming while looking at you with her gorgeous dark eyes.  Then she'll lay across your lap awaiting more adoration. Dixie does well with children.  Since she is energetic and her Pyr paw can be a little strong when she wants more pets, so she would likely do best in a home with children age 5 and older. Despite previously living the life of a roaming country dog, Dixie adapted quickly to indoor rules.  She is house trained and crate trained.  She has learned to sit before meals and before going in and out of the house and crate.  She walks well on a leash.  She's hesitant to load up in the car, and needs a little booty boost to load up; then she rides just fine! Her personality with other dogs is more of a dominant one, so she would be happiest in a home where she could be the top dog -- either with more submissive doggie playmates or as an only dog. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Juniper!  This precious girl was rescued from a local shelter and appears to be 1-2 years old.  Her DNA test revealed that she is 51% Great Pyrenees and 24% Australian Cattle Dog. With alert little ears and a spattering of freckles across her muzzle, Juniper is as cute as can be! She loves to play and run, especially with friends. Juniper does well with other dogs of all sizes. Her playfulness is contagious and she has gotten even the senior Pyr in her foster home to romp around the yard with her. She is great with children but due to her puppy playfulness, she will be best with children over five years old. Juniper would love at least one youthful doggy companion in her new home. She is picking up on loose leash walking skills very quickly.  Juniper will require enough exercise and mental stimulation to meet her energy level and help her tap into the more relaxed Great Pyrenees side of her genetic makeup. Juniper will need a family who will include her in their adventures. She loves going for trips in the car and will load up without hesitation -- she has so much fun looking out the window and settles down for petting along the way. Juniper is house trained and crate trained, though she prefers to be out and about with her people. Juniper is food motivated. She is a very enthusiastic eater, but has never shown food aggression. She has been known to counter surf, but she is learning that it's highly discouraged. She wants to work hard for treats, so she will be a quick study for learning new commands and tricks. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Bolt, our resilient and joyful four-legged friend! Bolt came to our rescue group with some puncture wounds on his neck, but he's healed up beautifully and is now ready to find his forever home. Bolt is a playful pup with a zest for life that's truly contagious. He absolutely loves to play with toys and has a blast romping around with other dogs, especially those of medium to large size. His playful nature is balanced by his sweet and affectionate side. Bolt loves to lay near his foster siblings, always touching, as if to say, "I'm here for you." One of Bolt 's favorite activities is going on walks, especially when he gets the chance to roll around in the grass. He has a particular fondness for wet grass. His high energy really comes out at night, making him the perfect companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. As Bolt continues to mature, he must have an older playmate to learn from and play with.   He's eager to follow the lead of a more experienced canine companion, and we believe this will be essential for his continued growth and happiness. Bolt 's past may have been rough, but his spirit is unbroken. He's a testament to the power of love, healing, and second chances. If you're looking for a loyal friend who will bring joy, laughter, and endless tail wags into your life, Bolt might just be the dog for you. Come meet Bolt and let his playful charm win you over. He's waiting to find a family that will love him as much as he's ready to love them, provide him with the older playmate he needs to thrive, and indulge his love for walks and joyful romps in the grass. He's a special pup with a heart full of love, and he's ready to share it with you. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Story
Meet Wheatley! He is a 1 yr old neutered male Anatolian Shepherd that weighs 60lbs. He came in as a stray on 4/8. He was adopted from the shelter on 2/19, but his owners have decided not to reclaim him. Wheatley is a high-spirited pup, with plenty of puppy-like energy! He always has a smile on his face and is happy to greet his human companions! He walks ok on a leash. He can become excited at times and may try to jump just to be close, asking for a pet or most importantly wanting to give you a kiss. He will need some additional training to let him know he can receive plenty without jumping. Wheatley knows the sit and paw command too! He is a very handsome boy that loves to run through the shelter yard to investigate. He will chase balls and play with squeaky toys sometimes. He would love to find his own active loving family that could take him on jogs or hiking. Wheatley has been well cared for and will need to have a secured backyard to play in, but most importantly he is an indoor dog. After an exciting day of going for a walk/play he will enjoy taking long naps on his dog bed inside or cuddling close to his family members. Tho Wheatley has lived with another dog, we do always ask if you have a dog in your home please ask the shelter for a dog test to ensure your pup would be compatible. This fun and smart pup deserves another chance at finding a home where his people will stay committed to him and give him the TLC he wants and needs.
