Story
PRECIOUS FREYA was found as a stray in the country. She has been spayed, is fully vaccinated and microchipped. PERFECT, ADORABLE GIRL! BEST PERSONALITY!!! Freya is an all-star! We can't say enough about her personality and temperament. -- Very affectionate. Loves all people and children. -- Rides VERY well in a car! -- Is EXTREMELY intelligent and learns quickly -- Loves to play with other dogs -- Was introduced to a "clinic cat" and was fine with him I have rescued and rehomed over 1500 sweet dogs, and I can truly say that Freya is one in a million. Just watching her run and play will make you fall in love with her. She is all legs and when she runs she looks exactly like a young colt! At 8 months of age her behavior is uncannily perfect when meeting a new dog. She seems to intuit how to interact and react – as if she knows how they are feeling and what actions would put them at ease. She will chase, do a play bow, and sweetly lie down showing she is not a threat or aggressive. Freya is great with dogs, great with children and rides wonderfully in a car. She does not bark unless there is a reason. And rather than bark, she “talks”. Freya is learning to play fetch – well, she is learning to bring it back. She has the “chase and fetch” part down cold! Originally I put Freya up on the website as an American Foxhound. She looks EXACTLY like the pictures of this breed. But we decided to use Wisdom Panel and have her DNA processed. Talk about a SHOCK!!! According to the test results, Freya is 30% Saint Bernard, 24% Great Pyrenees, 12% Australian Shepherd, 10% Labrador Retriever, and then 9 other various breeds. Freya is 40 pounds at 8 months of age. She will likely NOT be anywhere near the size of a Saint Bernard or a Great Pyrenees but has the lovely personality and temperament of these two wonderful breeds. I cannot say enough what a JOY it is to have Freya in my home. If I were in a position to adopt a dog, she would be my choice. A companion and best friend. Freya is fully vetted, microchipped, and on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. For information on adopting this fabulous girl, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Story
Looking for a foster hero to spoil Ella and monitor her health issues!  Despite having been through two surgeries for aggressive skin cancer, Ella is as active, playful, and happy as ever! You can even see her smiling big in photos. Ella would prefer to be your one and only dog so she can have all the love to herself! About Ella: Ella is ready to light up your world with her gorgeous smile! She is a special girl with a special, spunky personality. She will keep you guessing and keep you laughing. Ella is like a little ping-pong ball....one moment she can be very playful, but the next moment she wants her alone time. She's part Heeler, part Pyrenees, part Diva!   Ella is a very good girl who is leash-, crate-, and potty-trained! She is approximately 7 years old and 50 pounds. She loves people, chicken nuggets, comfy beds, going on walks, and looking out the window watching the world go by! Ella's an adult dog who has endearing puppy-like qualities (like adorably tripping over her own feet). Her personality is hard to describe in words...all the more reason that you should meet her in person! To foster Ella, please fill out an application at www.thestreetdogproject.org/fosterdog. Story
Hudson is a wonderful dog! However he has some immune or allergy issues- he had a history of GI issues until we put him on a prescription dog food- now he does great! However he struggles with external ear infections, and is currently on a long term steroid to try and fix it. We would love to rehome him to a family with land and financial stability to give him the best care he needs. He is great with older children, but afraid of toddlers. He has never bitten anyone, he is just all talk! He’s a very well behaved Pyr, but he needs a home to care for his veterinary costs better than we can. He will come with 6 months of flea, tick and heartworm and a new bag of his current dog food

Story
Romina is a beautiful 88 pound Great Pyrenees, who turns heads with her elegant stature and long legs... and then quickly has you laughing with her goofy antics & playful personality!    Just a few months shy of 2 years old, she is an active girl who loves playing with other dogs, chasing squirrels, long walks, riding in cars, visits to Petsmart and dog friendly patios-she does it all!!    But in her Pyr heart she is a gentle giant who loves to cuddle at home and enjoys napping most of the day anywhere she sees fit (and sometimes where she doesn't fit)!  She is a smart girl and learns quickly, true to breed she can be stubborn but incredibly sweet and easy going. Romina knows how to use a dog door and has shown little interest in dog-friendly cats. Another playful dog would be ideal but not required, she loves all people including children but does not quite know her size, so we are not recommending small children at this time.   She will flourish in a home where she will be taken for walks and adventures and given lots of love and snuggles. Her foster family works out of the house several days a week and she does fine at home with the resident dog but does need daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy so...ideally an owner home more than not would be best. Romina requires a fenced yard and an owner familiar with her breed. To meet Romina in person go to www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online application today!  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Vet checks are required. All resident animals must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative (if applicable). Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard. DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and immediate surrounding areas. ##1615039##
