Story
NEED ADOPTOR OR FOSTER ASAP. Nova is about six years old. She is blind. Her current human, Haley, loves her with her whole heart and would have kept her forever if life had let her. Haley is pregnant. Due in July. No support system to manage a senior blind dog and a newborn at the same time. The easy answer would have been 'take her to a shelter.' We knew the shelters were full. A senior blind dog goes to the back of the line at any of them, if she gets in at all. So we did what AAF does. We set up a foster-of-record arrangement. Haley stays with Nova until the baby comes. AAF pays for her food, her supplies, her vet care. AAF actively looks for the right adopter. A local groomer donated free grooming so Nova is shiny and ready for her adoption photos. Here is what Haley wants you to know about Nova. She gets around. She is not slowing down. She still plays with her toys. She loves car rides. She loves cats. She gets along with other dogs really well. She is blind, not anxious. She moves through her familiar space confidently and adapts to new spaces if you give her time. She is housebroken. She does not bark much. What Nova needs is a patient adopter who has had a senior dog before. If you have a cat, even better. If you take road trips and want a quiet co-pilot, she is your dog. She still has plenty of life in her. Haley is not surrendering Nova because she stopped loving her. She is doing the harder thing. She is asking for help so Nova ends up where she belongs instead of in a kennel. If that family is you, let's talk. All of our adoptions are spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Animal-Angels Foundation is a Best Friends Network Partner, which connects us to the largest lifesaving network in the country. Our adoptable pets are also published to Adopt-a-Pet.com, the largest non-profit pet adoption website in North America. Through our Petco Love partnership, every adopter receives a 20 percent off coupon for Petco supplies on the day they take their new pet home. Wherever you find them, every adoption is supported by our 90-day Adoption Boost program and our Lifetime Return Policy.

Story
Claudia is a 2-year-old, 56-pound Husky mix with an award-winning personality! She came to us at rescue with a large cut on her inner thigh that had to be sutured, but that hasn’t slowed her down. (She’s almost completely healed!) She’s super sweet, playful, energetic, and vocal. She also loves belly rubs and knows how to sit! Great girl!!! (posted 6/11/26, ME) ' ' ' 'Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $170.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** ' ' 'August 19, 2026, 3:54 pm

Story
Meet Belle: Your Soft, Loyal, and Sweet Best Friend! Imagine a dog who combines the comfort of a plush weighted blanket with the joy of a dedicated running partner. That is Belle in a nutshell! Belle is the ultimate companion dog. She loves nothing more than following you from room to room, curling up for a quiet afternoon, and showing off just how ridiculously soft her fur is. She has a gentle soul and communicates in the sweetest little ways. She dreams out loud, makes adorable happy chuffing noises when she gets excited, and gives top-tier cuddles. While she is mostly a low-key couch potato at home, put on her leash and she is ready to roll! Belle loves her daily walks and runs. She can get a little eager on the lead, but she is smart, eager to please, and already responds wonderfully to verbal guidance. She is currently mastering "heel" and already knows sit, down, and come. Belle’s Ideal Home Checklist: Cat-Approved: Tested and approved with four different cats! She respects all kinds of feline personalities, from bold to shy. Kid-Tested: Came from a home with small children and is patient, gentle, and family-ready. Dog-Friendly: Lives peacefully with another dog at home, though she can get a bit rowdy when meeting new dog friends, so structured introductions are best. House Manners: 100% house-trained! Storm Protocol: Thunderstorms make her anxious, but she handles her stress very quietly. Instead of pacing or barking, she usually seeks out a calm out of the way spot to nestle until the storm passes. Belle is crate-trained, though like many dogs, she would much prefer to be wherever you are rather than left alone in a crate for long stretches. She thrives in a home where she can be a true member of the family. If you are looking for a soft, loyal, and sweet best friend, Belle is waiting for you! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate.
