Story
Meet Bavo — a gentle-giant puppy who would be the perfect family dog! Bavo is a super people-oriented pup who adores all people — including children. Put him in a room full of dogs and one person, and he will go straight for the person, even if he’s never met them before. He loves to snuggle up real close, give kisses and then roll over for belly rubs. Bavo and his six siblings were born at the end of January and found their way to a loving foster home at one week old. They were handled and loved by humans since they were tiny pups and that shows in their extra-loving dispositions today. Bavo truly has those lazy big-dog vibes already and he’s not even five months old yet. He was approaching 30 pounds at 14 weeks old on May 7, which puts him on track to be a very large dog. He may be very friendly, but he is also calm and gentle. He tires out easily and will find a cool spot to relax after a play session with his puppy friends. Take him on a walk and he will be ready for a nice long nap. He’s well on his way to being a couch potato! We’ve labeled Bavo as a German Shepherd mix. His sibling’s DNA test came back 58% German Shepherd. Bavo is fully potty trained and working on crate training and walking on a leash. He’s very intelligent, treat motivated and eager to please his human. Bavo and his sister Gretel are the last of a litter of seven. The other siblings are getting rave reviews in their new forever homes. They’ve done well in homes with others dogs and in homes with small children. We hope two more forever homes will come along soon for these very deserving and loving puppies. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Meet Lucy, a pup whose night-and-day transformation might bring tears to your eyes.  A few months ago when Lucy was found alone at an RV park, you wouldn’t have even recognized her. She was covered in mange, underweight and very uncomfortable. Thankfully a kind person kept her safe, sought medical help and never gave up on her. A foster home took Lucy in a month later. As her fluffy coat has continued to fill in, Lucy has also been doing internal work: learning to walk on a leash, learning to come into the house, learning to enjoy being petted. Lucy has made great strides and is now an absolute joy in a pint-sized package. She’s approximately 26 pounds at 7 months old and seems to be growing at a very slow pace. Her breed test showed that she’s a mix of large and small breeds. Great Pyrenees and Husky were the top two breeds, but she also had some small amounts of Chihuahua, rat terrier and miniature schnauzer. The breed test predicted her full grown weight could be as low as 33 pounds.  Lucy absolutely adores other dogs and would love a doggy companion in her forever home. She looks so happy when she’s outside playing a game of chase with her foster puppy friend Linus. But Lucy isn’t an overly energetic puppy, so even the old grumpy dogs don’t mind having her around.  Lucy will need a patient owner who will give her time to feel comfortable. New situations and new people still make Lucy nervous, but she has become very comfortable in her foster home where she takes naps on her back in hopes she might get a belly rub. Lucy now seeks out attention, but she would never jump on you trying to get it. She’s very polite and well behaved in the house.  Lucy is fully potty trained and loves being in her crate. It was her safe spot while she worked up the courage to fully incorporate into her foster family.  Lucy has had quite the journey, and we want to find a forever home that’s perfect for her. Please apply if you can give Lucy the heartwarming ending she deserves. Claudia is a 2-year-old, 56-pound Husky mix with an award-winning personality! She came to us at rescue with a large cut on her inner thigh that had to be sutured, but that hasn’t slowed her down. Story
Marge is the kind of girl who may take a minute to warm up, but once she does, she wants to be right where her people are. She’s still a shy little thing, but she’s making great progress and her sweet personality shines through more every day. She absolutely loves to eat, has started getting playful with the dogs in her foster home, and would do great in a home with other friendly dogs to help show her the ropes. She’s also seen cats in the neighborhood and couldn’t care less about them. Marge walks beautifully on a leash and will happily stroll right beside you like she’s been doing it forever. She’s doing really well with house training, uses the doggy door, and has earned the trust of her foster family when left loose in the home. Crates are not her thing and she made that opinion very clear, so her foster stopped trying. Thankfully, she’s been a perfect lady in the house and hasn’t shown any destructive habits. One of her cutest little quirks is the way she cocks her head when you talk to her like she’s hanging on every word. Marge is a gentle, sweet girl who just needs a family willing to give her a little patience and a lot of love. Once she knows she’s safe, she’ll be your quiet little shadow. $300 adoption fee covers spay, vaccines, parasite prevention, and microchip. Apply at FullCircleRescueandSanctuary.com
