Kiera walks beautifully on leash, never makes a peep, and is completely nonchalant when passing other dogs. She also passed her cat test and was completely non-reactive. She already knows “sit” and recently met a 6-month-old male Shepherd/Husky puppy—she handled it with grace and ease.Kiera’s story began when she was abandoned at a mechanic’s lot, but thanks to the kindness of the workers there, she blossomed into the sweet, social girl she is today. This 1-year-old, 50-lb male, possibly a Husky/Pit Bull mix, is located in Los Angeles, Southern California and is not currently in our care. He is playful, gentle, and not a barker. Friendly with both people and other dogs, he can be slightly shy at first but warms up quickly. He absolutely loves children, has great recall, stays close in familiar environments, and is potty trained to use pee pads indoors.He is up to date on vaccinations. Neutering will be arranged once in foster care or adopted. Hi! Atlas is a wonderful 5 year old husky mix. We rescued him from a shelter over a year ago and we realize he would do best in a child free home. We are seeking an adult-only home with an experienced dog owner. He has shown resource guarding behaviors and has bitten our child on a few occasions without breaking the skin. Out of an abundance of care and responsibility, we are re-homing him before anything escalates further. He is a mellow, affectionate Husky who truly breaks the stereotype for his breed. He enjoys being active and is used to 2+ hours of exercise daily, but he also loves downtime and will happily soak up non-stop pets and attention. His favorite activities include hiking, camping, car rides, and outdoor adventures, and he settles nicely after his exercise needs are met. He has completed both basic and advanced training and works well for treats. With clear boundaries, and continued positive reinforcement training, he has the potential to do very well.
