Axel is extremely sweet, walks great on a leash, and gets along well with other dogs. He also loves car rides and has the most beautiful blue eyes. Meet Winter, a 1.5 year old 50lb Husky mix.  He arrived as a stray however when his chip was traced back to his owner, we learned that the person who found him as a stray, was actually his original owner.  We don’t get it either…  Winter is a great boy who truly wants to be social but won’t quite be the first one to approach you. He loves playing with other dogs and once he warms up, he will solicit attention from people. You’ve really won him over when he asks for belly rubs and that won’t take long , if you give him a couple of minutes.  We’d love to get Winter in a home with another outgoing dog and a family that will continue to introduce him to more positive experiences and love on him.  Apply to adopt Winter at https://www.muttsinneed.org/adoption-application.html

Mini horses or giant babies? Your guess is as good as ours with Cody and Comet. Yes they are bonded but that's because they love sharing one brain cell (it's more efficient for them). They're approx 2 years old and approx 85-90lbs. They were found as puppies in a box (they were much smaller than they were now and grew like Clifford overnight basically). Despite the jokes of them sharing one brain cell, they're both very smart and turn in obedient puppies when a treat is involved. They love other dogs and do great with meeting people (including kids). They love turning heads when going to the mall with our president, Steve, as this is where they love showing off how great they are on a leash and checking out new places. This Handsome boy is Blue. He weighs 70 pounds and is approx 4 years old. He great with other dogs, and very sweet with people. He’s very playful and just needs a chance with someone who will love him and be patient with him. Blue has a very sad story. He was originally abandoned with another dog (Honey on our website) by  his owners. They were left on the streets to fend for themselves when the owners moved away and the new renters wanted to have nothing to do with these dogs. A Good Samaritan wanted to save them and called animal control thinking she was doing right by them. What ended up happening was animal control picked them up and because they’re not used to being manhandled on a catchpole they were quickly deemed unadoptable, and set to be euthanized if Rescue did not step up.
