*HUSKY OR SIMILAR BREED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!* Meet our beautiful blue eyed Husky boy named Lucky! Lucky is about 2 years old and he was surrendered to our shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. Lucky is a very friendly boy who is outgoing and playful! He can get jumpy when he is excited, but he listens well to correction. Lucky is a food motivated boy who will sit politely and take treats gently. He spent a lot of time outside at his last home, but he seems to prefer being with people getting attention rather than being left outside alone on his own. He is a great cuddle buddy on the couch and loves a good head scratch. Lucky does have Husky energy and he is a larger guy currently weighing about 75 lbs. We are looking for a home with Husky, or similar breed experience, for Lucky to go to. He is fine with other dogs, but we do think he will prefer to be the dominant dog in the household. Lucky can go to a home with children 10 years old and older who have dog experience. If you are interested in adopting Lucky, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. Meet Jackson, a handsome adult (estimated age 4-7 years old) neutered male husky who is every bit as sweet as he looks! This boy weighs about 47 lbs currently. His fur makes him look bigger than he is, but he's actually a bit underweight and needs to gain a few lbs (his foster is working hard at this, which Jackson does not mind ONE bit! ).  Jackson is a very sweet, friendly boy who loves his people and enjoys making new friends - human and canine alike! He loves kids, but we recommend older kids 8+ or dog savvy kids, as he may unintentionally knock over a small child. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  From Jackson's current foster:  "Jackson is a super nice, clean boy with flawless house manners.  He has had no accidents and is not destructive at all.  He's actually quite calm and extremely affectionate.  His loving nature sets him apart -- he makes himself available for hugs and petting.  He's been wonderful with the neighborhood children. Everyone is his friend. He's a sweet deserving dog who is going to make someone very happy." He is medically up to date, housebroken (both his current and prior foster report that he has not had a single accident in the house!), and crate trained. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. Noel is a beautiful 3 year old Siberian Husky. Her birthday is October 17. She loves to run around and be playful. She gets along well with animals as well as kids. I am looking for someone who is experienced in taking care of huskies to adopt this amazing girl. Unfortunately with increasing busy schedules, she is not able to get the proper amount of attention and exercise she deserves.
