Story
Judy   Female, Siberian Husky, Estimated Date of Birth 5/12/2019 (5 years), weight 64lbs   Affectionate by nature, Judy is all about love: soaking it up and dishing it out in equal measure. When someone showers her with affection, her happy meter wags enthusiastically. But what truly makes her heart skip a beat is the prospect of having a family of her own.    Judy is very playful.  She loves tug of war, chasing after balls and sniffing out those elusive squirrels. And yet, there's a softer side to this Judy too. She finds contentment lying beneath the shade of a tree, savoring the beauty of the day. And when you're busy at work, Judy is more than happy to be your trusted companion, nestled under the desk, keeping you company.   Above all else, Judy's heart yearns to be with her people. Love and companionship is the heartbeat of her existence. With an eagerness to learn, Judy strives to please her family. Treats, praise, and attention encourage her on to be the very best furry friend she can be. Her deepest wish is to find a real family, one that will embrace her with open arms and shower her with the love she so fervently dreams of.   No Dogs No Cats Kids OK House trained Leash trained Crate trained     * A generous donor sponsored the adoption fee which helps cover vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, deworming and microchipping. Judy can be transported to  Hagerstown, MD;  Milford PA; Plantsville CT; and Warwick RI for a fee of $200.   * The application is the first step in all inquiries and adoptions      Canine Compassion Fund - Online Adoption Application www.caninecompassionfund.org/Forms/OnlineAdoptionApplication   * Additional information is available on our site caninecompassionfund.org January 2, 2025, 10:24 am

Story
Meet Jackson, a handsome adult (estimated age 4-7 years old) neutered male husky who is every bit as sweet as he looks! This boy weighs about 47 lbs currently. His fur makes him look bigger than he is, but he's actually a bit underweight and needs to gain a few lbs (his foster is working hard at this, which Jackson does not mind ONE bit! ).  Jackson is a very sweet, friendly boy who loves his people and enjoys making new friends - human and canine alike! He loves kids, but we recommend older kids 8+ or dog savvy kids, as he may unintentionally knock over a small child. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  From Jackson's current foster:  "Jackson is a super nice, clean boy with flawless house manners.  He has had no accidents and is not destructive at all.  He's actually quite calm and extremely affectionate.  His loving nature sets him apart -- he makes himself available for hugs and petting.  He's been wonderful with the neighborhood children. Everyone is his friend. He's a sweet deserving dog who is going to make someone very happy." He is medically up to date, housebroken (both his current and prior foster report that he has not had a single accident in the house!), and crate trained. Apply to meet this good boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2517941##

This clever boy is always ready for some fun and can keep up with even the most active of humans. He's a social butterfly who loves to meet new doggos and people, making him the life of the paw-ty. He's also a quick learner and will impress you with his smarts. Aside from being a sociable pup, Howie is also a great family dog. He gets along well with other dogs and is good with kids. Come see Howie at The River Lane, 7 Main Street, Essex, CT on June 28th and 29th, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ANY OF OUR DOGS PLEASE APPLY ONLINE IMMEDIATELY. See www.godogdays.org for details. Here is more information about me: GENERAL BEHAVIOR AND IDEAL HOME: Most rescues will not adopt out dogs, including puppies, to families with children under the age of 6 years old. Rescues will not allow dogs or puppies to go to homes where they will be crated during the full work day. The rescue has noticed this dog is generally good with dogs. However dogs, like people, act differently in different settings and a new adopter should expect there will be an adjustment period of time before before the dog settles in to a new home. At this time we ONLY adopt to residents of the state of Connecticut who live no more than one hour from the event site. GENERAL VETERINARY CARE: I have been ~ spayed/neutered ~ microchipped ~ dewormed ~ heartworm-tested negative if dog is of age to be tested ( 6 months or older) ~ up to date on all age appropriate shots ~ treated with a flea preventative ADOPTION FEES Rescues participating in our events are not allowed to charge more than $450 an adoption fee and some adoption fees are much less - it depends on what the rescue chooses to charge - Dog Days does not take any portion of the adoption fees. ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION FORM: https://redletterbusiness.wufoo.com/forms/find-my-new-best-friend/ (Copy and paste to browser.) ADOPTION PROCESS - Before the Event If you would like to begin the application process, please fill in the form at the link above and we will review your information, call your personal and well as vet references. PLEASE Fill in the application if you're interested in adoption, this will save you time at the event. We hope you will understand the careful scrutiny of potential adopters is not only for the safety and well-being of the dog but also for a positive experience for your household. Thank you for saving the life of a shelter dog through adoption; you are truly a hero. -- A letter from your vet on their letterhead will also be very helpful if they won't be open for us to call as a reference. -- If you are renting, please note you must have a written letter of permission from your landlord to own a dog on their property. Dog Days will be conducting interviews of prospective adopters. -- If you have never owned a dog and therefore do not have a vet reference let us know right away and we'll try to do a home visit before the adoption weekend. First time adopters need a quick home visit to make sure they are ready to take a dog home for the first time. ADOPTION PROCESS - During the Event Weekend -- Plan on spending at least three to four hours going through the adoption process. We want you to be completely confident in your new pal so we will ask you to speak to a trainer, a veterinarian as well as interview with a member of our adoption team and the rescue. -- As a policy, Dog Days will not hold dogs for potential adopters so it is important to come to the event by 11:00am Saturday morning if you have your heart set on a particular dog. -- PLEASE NOTE THAT DOGS ARE GIVEN TO THE BEST HOME, NOT FIRST IN LINE. -- At this time we ONLY adopt to residents of the state of Connecticut who live no more than one hour from the event site. Each dog and puppy has been seen by a Connecticut veterinarian who will also be on site to answer any questions you may have. We'll have professional groomers on site to give your new pal a bath before you take them home (no charge) and our adoption bags will give you information and samples for use at home. See www.godogdays.org for details.

Story
Belle is the world’s most incredible husky who is patiently waiting for love! This glorious girl has the most amazing foundation and is the most loving, snuggly, devoted beautiful girl! She came to us when her devastated owners lost their farmhouse. They surrendered her, through their tears, along with her beloved companion (a Great Pyrenees named Beau). We promised we would find each of them an amazing forever home, and now this amazing girl is waiting for love! Belle is a purebred husky who was born on 6/2/24. She has had great care and is thriving! Shes perfectly petite at about 40 lbs. She’s now current on all vaccines, deworming, she’s heartworm negative and current on preventative, she’s microchipped and spayed! She’s healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever home! Belle was raised with the most incredible foundation. She was raised with young children, other dogs, cats, chickens, goats, cows, and horses. She spent her days having lots of love and socialization! She’s got great manners in the house and has had excellent recall. She reliably goes potty outside and is the most cheerful, loving, outgoing, happy girl. She loves to play, and has such a well adjusted, happy, social temperament! She loves all people, and is a true social butterfly. She is active and enjoys hikes, jogs, car rides, any adventures you’d love to bring her on! We originally had held onto her with her best friend Beau in the hopes that we could keep them together, but we haven’t found a home able to adopt them as a bonded pair. Because of that we feel it’s in her best interest to pursue adoption alone. She would love a home where she has another dog to play and snuggle with, but also will be great as an only dog if she has time to play with doggy friends! She’ll be great with cats or any other animals. She’s got all the wonderful nature loving active traits of a husky, and no hard edges, she’s truly sweet as pie! If this beautiful girl is your dream dog and you’d love to give her a loving, wonderful home, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!
