Story
Meet Norman! This sweet boy was surrendered to the shelter in Mississippi with his momma Nora. We have her too! They look so much alike. The family who had them surrendered them as they said Nora was mistake puppy and then Norman came along too. They couldn't keep everyone. Fetching Hearts Rescue took them both as they are both extremely sweet. Norman is a very pup!!! He loves rolling around in the grass and running around with his friends. Norman loves pouncing around with both his human and doggy friends. He enjoys playing tag, throwing the toys around and playing tug a war and anything else exciting. Norman is very food motivated and enjoys his treats. We know that training should be an easy task him to do with his family. Norman will still need someone who doesn't leave him more than 3 hrs a day, willing to train him, has lots of time to attend to him and lots of patience. Puppies take lots of work, time and dedication. Fetching Hearts Rescue takes them very seriously, and will require that they go to training as this is their prime time to learn. If you want to love Norman and have him join you and the family forever, apply for him now!!! He is lots of fun and has lots of love to give!!! Don't miss out on this handsome blue eyed baby!! If interested in Norman, please COPY LINK BELOW TO APPLY AND FILL OUT AN APPLICATION: https://www.fetchingheartsrescue.org/adoption-form-online to fill out an application or email to inquire at: INFO.FETCHINGHEARTS@GMAIL.COM Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption: Thorough veterinary examination All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (Kennel Cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming, Microchip, Flea and Tick Prevention and Heartworm Prevention. Story
Arlo NEEDS A NEW ENGLAND FOSTER!  He needs a hail mary, before he is returned back to TN.  Arlo has been searching for his furever home for over a year now, and he does not understand why other dogs are getting adopted, but not him :( We are a smaller rescue, that is NOT backed/funded by the government, we are not sponsored by large corporations, and we have never received a grant. Our rescue runs on small donations from individuals and our adoption donations. We are a foster based rescue, which means we DO NOT have a physical location to house dogs who don't find a foster or adoptive home. If we DO NOT have anyone to take a dog in, we have to send them back to TN.  We are a volunteer run organization, each person in the rescue is a volunteer. Arlo is a YOUNG dog, at 2.5 years old. He had a hard life, where he was never loved or cared for. It is evident in his behaviors when we got him into rescue that he had no idea how to dog. Arlo had done amazing in the 1.5 years we have had him in rescue, even with setbacks he has shown us time and time again, that he tries his best to learn and understand. Arlo was with us in TN for 5 weeks before coming to New England, Arlo spent 6 days a week at doggy day care, and did wonderful! With dogs of all ages, sizes, genders and breeds.nHe was basically an overgrown puppy. He was eager to meet all people, with a friendly and excited hop! He worked on his basic commands and learned how to sit, and was housebroken. He made his way to New England and was placed in a foster home with a dog and a cat, and he was doing wonderfully. Until one day he played a little roughly with the cat. The cat WAS NOT HURT. It was him just trying to play, but because he is so much bigger than his feline friends he should go to a home with no cats.  **NOVEMBER 2022** Arlo was adopted into a family. A couple of months later, Arlo began displaying signs of behavioral issues that were unfortunately unable to be worked with. He was taken to training in which the trainer mentioned it would take more time for him. We had taken him back at this time. Arlo was placed in another foster home. We let the foster know he's a rough player, he's young, and he needs some work. He is not good at reading cues from other dogs and is possessive with toys.  He was doing well with his foster brother for the first 2 months he was there. On Saturday, January 14th 2023, Arlo went to a 5 hour adoption event, with a bit of a car ride to and from the event. Events are highly stimulating for a dog - It raises their cortisol levels, and without decompression, that cortisol continues to build and build until a dog will react. Sadly, after the event, he went home, and was given a toy (as a reward for being a good boy at the event), and his foster brother was also given a toy. With cortisol levels high, stressed from the event, and he can already be a bit toy possesive, (like kids, dogs DO NOT understand that I have a toy, and my friend has a toy, they just want the one the other one has) Arlo went to get the toy from his foster brother, and Arlo accidently bit his foster brother trying to get the toy. We can list Arlo as "not good with other dogs", but that is ignoring the root of the problem, and cutting his chances of finding a home in half. He is good with other dogs, great with many, but until he learns how to dog, and how to read cues from the other dog in the home, toys should be given only when separately. Arlo has bounced from house to house to house, never getting the chance to really settle in. He never gets to the part where he feels at home (both his past adopter and last foster had him under 3 months, 3 months is the time it takes for a dog to feel completely comfortable in their home, and feel at home). With being moved before settling in his leads a dog to never truly feeling comfortable and confident in their home.  What Arlo NEEDS: He needs an experienced dog owner, he needs someone who has some experience with toy possessivness and/or rescource guarding (Arlo does not guard anyone or anything, except having an incident over a toy once), a family who will give him TIME, and continue to work with him on his training. No cats, no small pets like rodents, birds, as he does have a high prey drive (he loves to watch birds and squirrels from the window). No small children (we recommend 8+), Arlo loves children but he jumps, and has a lot of energy and can unintententionally knock a small child over.  EITHER NO other dogs in the home, OR a dog whose energy MATCHES Arlo's - ONLY IF THE ADOPTER HAS EXPERIENCE (with the breed and toy posessiveness). A fenced in yard, where he has a place to run around and play safely. Arlo is really a good dog, and very smart, he learns quickly, and he is a true sweetheart of a dog, and in the right home he could be a wonderful dog and make a wonderful companion. He is smart, housebroken, crate trained, sweet, and playful, and wants to do his best. He just needs the right home, and the right guidance to get him there.  Arlo's history when we saved him: We saved Arlo from a kill shelter, he was picked up as a stray and brought to Animal Control, he was given 3 days for his current owner to claim him (if he had an owner), or find a new adopter, or be saved by a rescue. Paws Rescue League works hard to save many dogs facing this situtation. Healthy, young good dogs are euthanized for space, as Animal Control needs to respond to calls about strays, so if they are full of dogs that no one claims or adopts, they would be unable to pick up any other dogs. We as well as the local Humane Society, and a few other rescues, work tirelessly to save these innocent dogs' lives, who want nothing more than to be loved. Arlo is a bright light of happiness and joy! Even when in the scary shelter where he was unsure where he was or what would happen, he was trusting of everyone, and was as wiggly as a worm, and a huge smile on his face. He was just beaming with positivity. To think this beuatiful light could be extinguished soley because he was taking up a kennel is awful. Arlo was temperament tested, and taken out of the shelter and placed in a TN foster home, where he got lots of love, and affection, and went to the vet for a physical exam, and HWT, neutered and vaccinated. Arlo is currently in his CT foster home, and he is very much a Husky Shepherd mix! You have never met a sweeter, more loving and happy dog. Arlo is truly a wiggle butt! He wags his tail with such happiness his whole body wags, it is the cutest thing, then add his huge happy smile! He is truly a great dog, who loves everyone and has never met a stranger ( everyone is a friend).   Arlo just needs someone willing to give him time and understanding. ##1478076##

They are quite talkative so we are thinking Husky mixes. They seem to be about 7 weeks old and will be ready to go to their forever homes 4-13th. They are probably going to be large dogs. If you are ready to add a puppy to your life you will need to submit your adoption application at funnyfarmpets.org You can read all about our TN based rescue and how the adoption and transport process works and see all the other adoptable pets. Story
Urgent Adoption Needed!    Due to unexpected and severe health challenges faced by our dedicated rescue partner - Fagin’s Haven Rescue - including a month-long hospitalization and ongoing medical treatments, we are urgently seeking a forever home for Judy. We hope you'll consider opening your heart and home during the rescue's time of need. Adopting now can make a world of difference to both the dogs and our rescue partner. Be a hero in Judy's story.   Judy   Female, Siberian Husky, Estimated Date of Birth 5/12/2019 (4 years), weight 64lbs   Affectionate by nature, Judy is all about love: soaking it up and dishing it out in equal measure. When someone showers her with affection, her happy meter wags enthusiastically. But what truly makes her heart skip a beat is the prospect of having a family of her own.    Judy is very playful.  She loves tug of war, chasing after balls and sniffing out those elusive squirrels. And yet, there's a softer side to this Judy too. She finds contentment lying beneath the shade of a tree, savoring the beauty of the day. And when you're busy at work, Judy is more than happy to be your trusted companion, nestled under the desk, keeping you company.   Above all else, Judy's heart yearns to be with her people. Love and companionship is the heartbeat of her existence. With an eagerness to learn, Judy strives to please her family. Treats, praise, and attention encourage her on to be the very best furry friend she can be. Her deepest wish is to find a real family, one that will embrace her with open arms and shower her with the love she so fervently dreams of.   No Dogs No Cats House trained Leash trained Crate trained     * A generous donor sponsored the adoption fee which helps cover vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, deworming and microchipping. Judy can be transported to  Hagerstown, MD;  Milford PA; Plantsville CT; and Warwick RI   for a fee of $160.   * The application is the first step in all inquiries and adoptions      Canine Compassion Fund - Online Adoption Application www.caninecompassionfund.org/Forms/OnlineAdoptionApplication   * Additional information is available on our site caninecompassionfund.org April 24, 2024, 6:05 pm

Freya This pretty lady is a sweet soul. She loves her people. She will definitely show you lots of love and attention. She loves kids and would make a great play partner. She is very dog and cat friendly. Although if your cat is runner or spooked easily, she will chase for a fun activity. Freya can jump high, so she requires a yard with a minimum of a 6 ft fence. She would do well with lots of room to roam and play. This chick is up for any adventure, as long as she gets to spend time with her people, her heart will be happy. She will be fully vetted, microchipped and is available to you via ground transport.

When not out on an adventure, Logan can be found lounging in the shade in our expen. This guy has a very easy going personality and is a fan of all humans! Logan would prefer a home with a fenced in yard and someone with a very active lifestyle that can get him out for lots of walks/runs to explore the world.
