Story
Freya This pretty lady is a sweet soul. She loves her people. She will definitely show you lots of love and attention. She loves kids and would make a great play partner. She is very dog and cat friendly. Although if your cat is runner or spooked easily, she will chase for a fun activity. Freya can jump high, so she requires a yard with a minimum of a 6 ft fence. She would do well with lots of room to roam and play. This chick is up for any adventure, as long as she gets to spend time with her people, her heart will be happy. She will be fully vetted, microchipped and is available to you via ground transport.

Story
Cyrus was a foster failure we took him in to our home around 10 weeks old. He bonded with our dogs and with me personally that is why we chose to keep him. He is 8 years old the most loving affectionate dog. Not aggressive whatsoever with our other dogs and does very well with children just seems to be competing for affection since we don’t have the extra time to really do things with him. We are looking for a home that can be around and give him more than what we can since we have added children to our family and don’t have that time like we used to. It saddens me to even have to do this but he deserves to be with people who have more time for him💙

Story
Welcome Bailey Blue to CCPAL Foster Program. She is a 4-year-old and appears to be a pure bred Siberian Husky. She is a little bit chunky at 75 pounds. She is a beautiful Red and White husky with light blue eyes. She is good with dogs her size and smaller dogs. She was very tolerant of a little dominant boy dog that fell in love with her at the Rescue. She has lived in a home with children successfully. She is also around cats but all time with them is supervised. She is potty trained, good on a leash and good in a car. She does not jump up on you which is nice. She has a beautiful coat that will need regular brushing to stay looking beautiful. We would love a previous husky owner for her new family. She would love to live in the cooler more northern climates as she has a beautiful full coat to fully enjoy this type of weather. She would be fine with children and we like them to be 8 or older. Husky dogs need a good fenced yard. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont, Conneticut or all along the East Coast. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. This sweet girl was very lucky to be found by a saint on St Patrick's day. She along with her 2 siblings are now safe in rescue and have started with the vetting process. They are quite talkative so we are thinking Husky mixes. They seem to be about 7 weeks old and will be ready to go to their forever homes 4-13th. They are probably going to be large dogs. If you are ready to add a puppy to your life you will need to submit your adoption application at funnyfarmpets.org You can read all about our TN based rescue and how the adoption and transport process works and see all the other adoptable pets. Story
Arlo NEEDS A NEW ENGLAND FOSTER!  He needs a hail mary, before he is returned back to TN.  Arlo has been searching for his furever home for over a year now, and he does not understand why other dogs are getting adopted, but not him :( We are a smaller rescue, that is NOT backed/funded by the government, we are not sponsored by large corporations, and we have never received a grant. Our rescue runs on small donations from individuals and our adoption donations. We are a foster based rescue, which means we DO NOT have a physical location to house dogs who don't find a foster or adoptive home. If we DO NOT have anyone to take a dog in, we have to send them back to TN.  We are a volunteer run organization, each person in the rescue is a volunteer. Arlo is a YOUNG dog, at 2.5 years old. He had a hard life, where he was never loved or cared for. It is evident in his behaviors when we got him into rescue that he had no idea how to dog. Arlo had done amazing in the 1.5 years we have had him in rescue, even with setbacks he has shown us time and time again, that he tries his best to learn and understand. Arlo was with us in TN for 5 weeks before coming to New England, Arlo spent 6 days a week at doggy day care, and did wonderful! With dogs of all ages, sizes, genders and breeds.nHe was basically an overgrown puppy. He was eager to meet all people, with a friendly and excited hop! He worked on his basic commands and learned how to sit, and was housebroken. He made his way to New England and was placed in a foster home with a dog and a cat, and he was doing wonderfully. Until one day he played a little roughly with the cat. The cat WAS NOT HURT. It was him just trying to play, but because he is so much bigger than his feline friends he should go to a home with no cats.  **NOVEMBER 2022** Arlo was adopted into a family. A couple of months later, Arlo began displaying signs of behavioral issues that were unfortunately unable to be worked with. He was taken to training in which the trainer mentioned it would take more time for him. We had taken him back at this time. Arlo was placed in another foster home. We let the foster know he's a rough player, he's young, and he needs some work. He is not good at reading cues from other dogs and is possessive with toys.  He was doing well with his foster brother for the first 2 months he was there. On Saturday, January 14th 2023, Arlo went to a 5 hour adoption event, with a bit of a car ride to and from the event. Events are highly stimulating for a dog - It raises their cortisol levels, and without decompression, that cortisol continues to build and build until a dog will react. Sadly, after the event, he went home, and was given a toy (as a reward for being a good boy at the event), and his foster brother was also given a toy. With cortisol levels high, stressed from the event, and he can already be a bit toy possesive, (like kids, dogs DO NOT understand that I have a toy, and my friend has a toy, they just want the one the other one has) Arlo went to get the toy from his foster brother, and Arlo accidently bit his foster brother trying to get the toy. We can list Arlo as "not good with other dogs", but that is ignoring the root of the problem, and cutting his chances of finding a home in half. He is good with other dogs, great with many, but until he learns how to dog, and how to read cues from the other dog in the home, toys should be given only when separately. Arlo has bounced from house to house to house, never getting the chance to really settle in. He never gets to the part where he feels at home (both his past adopter and last foster had him under 3 months, 3 months is the time it takes for a dog to feel completely comfortable in their home, and feel at home). With being moved before settling in his leads a dog to never truly feeling comfortable and confident in their home.  What Arlo NEEDS: He needs an experienced dog owner, he needs someone who has some experience with toy possessivness and/or rescource guarding (Arlo does not guard anyone or anything, except having an incident over a toy once), a family who will give him TIME, and continue to work with him on his training. No cats, no small pets like rodents, birds, as he does have a high prey drive (he loves to watch birds and squirrels from the window). No small children (we recommend 8+), Arlo loves children but he jumps, and has a lot of energy and can unintententionally knock a small child over.  EITHER NO other dogs in the home, OR a dog whose energy MATCHES Arlo's - ONLY IF THE ADOPTER HAS EXPERIENCE (with the breed and toy posessiveness). A fenced in yard, where he has a place to run around and play safely. Arlo is really a good dog, and very smart, he learns quickly, and he is a true sweetheart of a dog, and in the right home he could be a wonderful dog and make a wonderful companion. He is smart, housebroken, crate trained, sweet, and playful, and wants to do his best. He just needs the right home, and the right guidance to get him there.  Arlo's history when we saved him: We saved Arlo from a kill shelter, he was picked up as a stray and brought to Animal Control, he was given 3 days for his current owner to claim him (if he had an owner), or find a new adopter, or be saved by a rescue. Paws Rescue League works hard to save many dogs facing this situtation. Healthy, young good dogs are euthanized for space, as Animal Control needs to respond to calls about strays, so if they are full of dogs that no one claims or adopts, they would be unable to pick up any other dogs. We as well as the local Humane Society, and a few other rescues, work tirelessly to save these innocent dogs' lives, who want nothing more than to be loved. Arlo is a bright light of happiness and joy! Even when in the scary shelter where he was unsure where he was or what would happen, he was trusting of everyone, and was as wiggly as a worm, and a huge smile on his face. He was just beaming with positivity. To think this beuatiful light could be extinguished soley because he was taking up a kennel is awful. Arlo was temperament tested, and taken out of the shelter and placed in a TN foster home, where he got lots of love, and affection, and went to the vet for a physical exam, and HWT, neutered and vaccinated. Arlo is currently in his CT foster home, and he is very much a Husky Shepherd mix! You have never met a sweeter, more loving and happy dog. Arlo is truly a wiggle butt! He wags his tail with such happiness his whole body wags, it is the cutest thing, then add his huge happy smile! He is truly a great dog, who loves everyone and has never met a stranger ( everyone is a friend).   Arlo just needs someone willing to give him time and understanding. ##1478076##

Story
This is a mighty special boy who is NOT special needs despite only having 3 legs. Oscar is missing his front right leg and it does not slow him down at all. His foster mom takes him on long walks daily and he loves them. If she gets busy and does not take him, he whines at hurt like his feelings are really hurt. He jumps into the van by himself and he loves to go on rides, really he barks if she loads up another dog and does not take Oscar. The foster mom tries to give all of the dogs equal time in the love and attention area. Oscar went riding in a subdivision where the Christmas lights were plentiful and he loved it, he rode and looked at the lights as if he were a real 2-legged little boy. So it is safe to say that Oscar's foster mom spoils him and gives him more attention and love because we feel he deserves it. Oscar is 4 years old and 60 pounds. All he knew all his life was being chained up in someone's yard. Oscar got tired of it and chewed through his cable chain and got loose. Something horrible happened to him but he made his way back home. The foster mom lives on the same street so the owners called her over and begged her to help him. She called me and Roxy's K-9 Rescue took him to the vet where they cleaned him up immediately and assessed the situation. There was so much damage that they only option was to amputate his leg. If you would like to see his wound pictures, I can email them to you. Oscar is now a Roxy's K-9 Rescue dog as the owners surrendered him not wanting a tri-pod dog. But nothing is wrong with him, Oscar has no disabilities or special needs except to need love and a safe, happy home. He gets along with all of the dogs that are in the home, big and small. He does not bother them and they do not bother him. He is more focused on hanging out and following his foster mom around. He is completely healed from his amputation, no medications or special instructions are required for him. Wouldn't you like a warm loving guy who is not destructive and appreciates a good home? There is another video of him playing with a toy that I can provide. We transport across the United States. Thank you.
