Meet Ernie! 🐾💙 Ernie is a handsome 1–2-year-old Husky weighing approximately 55 pounds, and he is one happy, energetic boy! Ernie is looking for an active family ready for plenty of fun, adventure, and Husky antics. He’s young, playful, curious, affectionate, and absolutely loves having a good time. Ernie’s story began about four months ago when he was found wandering as a stray at a remote truck stop in North Edinburg. Since then, he has been waiting for the family who will give him the life he deserves. And let’s just say—Ernie is ready for his next adventure! ❤️ 🐕 Dog Friendly: YES! Ernie absolutely loves other dogs and would do best in a home with canine friends. He is playful, energetic, and enthusiastic, and sometimes his version of fun involves some serious Husky-style roughhousing! Because of this, he would be happiest with large, playful dogs who can match his energy and enjoy an active playmate. 👧 Great with Kids! Ernie loves children and is friendly and affectionate with people of all ages. Because he is still young and learning his manners, younger children should be supervised around him. He’s still figuring out proper doggy etiquette, and his excitement can sometimes get the better of him. 🏡 House Training: Although Ernie has spent his time with us at an animal sanctuary, he has shown wonderful potential for becoming a great house dog. He is crate-trained and does not have accidents in his crate or pen. With patience, consistency, and a little time to adjust to indoor family life, we believe he’ll catch on quickly. 🐱 Cats: Ernie has not yet been tested with cats, so we cannot say for certain how he would do living with them. Given his friendly nature, he may potentially learn to live peacefully with cats with patient training, careful supervision, and slow, proper introductions. 🚗 Adventure Buddy: YES! Meet Willow 💕🐾 Willow is approximately 3 years old, weighs about 60 pounds, and may just be the perfect family dog! Willow’s story began when she was found as a stray and taken in by a Fire Department in the south Texas area. The firefighters welcomed her into their firehouse and made her part of the family while they spent several months trying to locate her owners. Sadly, no owner ever came forward. And what her foster mom has discovered is that Willow is an absolute gem. ❤️ Willow is house-trained, crate-trained, wonderfully well-mannered, and great with children of all ages. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and has a calm, fun-loving personality. She doesn’t need to be the center of attention—she’s perfectly happy just being near her people. One of Willow’s favorite things is simply sleeping peacefully on the floor right next to her human’s bed. She loves following her person around the house and would happily spend her days right by your side. She also loves to cuddle on the couch and hang out with her people. ❤️ And if you love adventures, Willow may be your perfect companion! 🚗🐾 She rides wonderfully in the car and would be an amazing road-trip buddy or riding partner. Walks are also one of her favorite things, so she’ll happily head out for a stroll with her favorite person. Willow is used to having other dogs around, so a home with another dog is preferred. However, she would also enjoy regular opportunities for canine companionship through dog parks or doggy daycare. 🐱 What about cats? Willow has met cats and gets along great with them. If a cat runs, though, Willow thinks it’s an invitation to play and may give chase! As with any dog, proper, gradual introductions and supervision are important when introducing Willow to a cat in the home. Her foster mom has not observed any behavioral issues and describes Willow as an incredibly loving, well-adjusted, easy-going companion who could fit beautifully into just about any kind of home. And honestly… she may have a point. 😉 Brownie’s story began when someone found her as a puppy in South Texas in horrible condition. She was covered in fleas and ticks, frightened, and in desperate need of help. Thankfully, her finders took her in and gave her a chance. But as Brownie grew, so did her puppy energy. Her family realized they weren’t prepared for the energy and needs of a young dog and considered taking her to the pound. Rather than allow this sweet girl to face an uncertain future, they chose to surrender her to a wonderful sanctuary where she would be safe. Brownie has now been at the sanctuary for seven months, and sadly, no one has chosen her yet. And it’s absolutely no fault of her own. 💔 Brownie is a wonderful girl who is ready for a family that will appreciate her big personality, give her plenty of love, and keep her busy with all the things she enjoys. 👑 Meet the Diva Brownie is sweet, energetic, affectionate, and definitely knows what she wants! She is a vocal girl and will happily let you know when something doesn’t meet her very high Queen Brownie standards. 😂 Does she like something? She’ll tell you. Does she NOT like something? Oh, you’ll definitely hear about that too! She has a wonderfully expressive personality and a funny little diva streak that will keep her family laughing. That said, she would also be completely fine as your one-and-only dog. He also loves car rides, so hed make a fun adventure buddy. Shadow is house and crate trained and knows sit, paw, and lay down. His vocal level is low to moderate. He previously lived successfully with one dog and one cat and may enjoy furry companions again with proper introductions. Shadow has no experience with children and has boundaries that need to be respected, therefore he is looking for an adult-only home. He can live in a single-family home or condo, as long as his exercise needs are met. Because his behavior is typical of his breed, he would prefer a home with someone who has Husky experience. Lumi is a sweet, sensitive girl with the kind of personality that makes earning her trust feel extra special.
