**Meet Buckley!** 🐾This sweet boy came to us in quite a state. He was spotted running around the county, scavenging for pig feed! When we brought him in, we discovered just how much he needed help. Buckley was missing almost all of his fur except for his adorable face, making it hard to tell what breed he is at first glance. Despite his rough start, Buckley is ready to turn over a new leaf! He was very uncomfortable and significantly underweight when he arrived, but with love and care, he’s starting to blossom. His gentle spirit shines through, and we know that with the right family, he’ll truly thrive. Buckley deserves a warm, loving home where he can feel safe and cherished. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s seen tough times but is ready to love, Buckley is the perfect match! Ember will be adopted through our Foster-to-Adopt program until she is spayed by our veterinarian. Participation in this program requires that she be returned to our rescue for the spay procedure once surgery appointments become available.Because of this requirement, we are currently limiting applicants to those who live within 60 miles of our rescue in De Soto to ensure timely scheduling and coordination. Our veterinary team has been extremely busy completing these procedures, and when surgery appointments open, we often need to act quickly. Coordinating returns from longer distances has proven to be challenging.To determine whether a dog has been spayed or neutered, please visit the dog’s profile on our website. Once the procedure has been completed, the profile will display “Spayed/Neutered” with a checkmark next to that designation. This notation will not appear until surgery is complete.

Odyssey is a sweet, silly and super smart guy who’s ready to find his forever home! He’s a big fan of snacks, loves playing ball, and has a goofy, lovable personality that’s sure to win you over. This playful pup is also a bit of a people-watcher, he enjoys keeping tabs on staff and volunteers and being part of the action.He can be a little talkative (as Huskies tend to be!), so a home without shared walls and a physical fence would be best. We aren`t sure if Odyssey is house trained, but he does keep his kennel clean. Odyssey came from a hoarding situation, so we’re still learning how he feels about other dogs. Because of this, a meet and greet with all household members, furry and human, will be required before adoption.Odyssey is on-site at our rescue. If you`d like to meet him, you can stop by our rescue to meet him or fill out an application online. Information may change as we get to know Odyssey better.

Journey is a sassy, smart and spirited Husky mix who’s still learning to trust the world around him. He’s got that classic Husky attitude - vocal, opinionated and a little mouthy - but underneath it all, he’s a sweet guy who just needs the right person to help him feel safe and loved.Journey came to us from a hoarding situation, so he`s still figuring out how to interact with people, and we haven`t had a chance to test his interactions with other dogs quite yet. We believe a slow introduction to all household members, furry and human, would be best for him. He is still pretty nervous of fast movements and loud noises so older children or no children in his future home, may be where he feels most comfortable. Because Journey is very vocal, a home without shared walls would be the best fit for him. He would still need to learn trust when being leashed, so he would also do best in a home with a fenced in yard. He is incredibly smart and treat-motivated, so treats are a fast way to his heart. After he trusts you, proper training won`t be too difficult. We aren`t quite sure if he is house trained, but he does keep his kennel clean!If you are interested in making him apart of your family, you can come and meet him in one of our playrooms or fill out an application online. Ruby is a stunning Husky mix with a gentle soul and wonderful manners. This beautiful girl has the softest, sweetest presence and is an absolute joy to be around. She listens well, knows commands, and truly wants to please her people. Ruby has already shown what an amazing dog she is by raising four puppies and doing a phenomenal job. She was a devoted, loving mom and has transitioned seamlessly into being a calm, affectionate companion. She loves people, does well with other dogs, and is a dream indoors. Ruby is fully house-trained, crate-trained (though she doesn’t need one), and has excellent house manners, no chewing or destructive behaviors. Outside, her playful Husky side shines. She loves to run, play, and show off her zoomies. Like most Huskies, Ruby thrives with regular exercise and mental stimulation. If bored, she may try to explore, so a secure yard and an active lifestyle are important. She has been around cats and will bark at them, but with time and guidance, this may improve. Ruby would do best with an adopter who understands the Husky breed and is ready to give her the activity, structure, and love she deserves.
