Story
Bella is ready for her forever home! 🐾 Bella was found as a stray and has been fostered with us for four months. She loves car rides and is happiest relaxing in the car or joining someone on daily adventures. She is comfortable in a kennel, uses a dog door to let herself out, and does best with regular potty access. She has food sensitivities, but we found a food she enjoys that does not make her sick. Our home is already full of children and animals, so we cannot keep her permanently. Bella is ready for a loving, committed home where she can finally settle in for good. Please message me if you are interested in learning more about her.

**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Hi, I am Max, approx. 4yrs old, neutered male, German Shepard/Husky Mix. My old owner took wonderful care of me, but their lives changed, and I found myself at this amazing shelter, who have taken wonderful care of me. The shelter team is shocked I have been here a year, waiting for my new owner. They want you to know that I know all the basic commands, I rarely jump, I am a 100% housebroken, my energy level is laid-back, I love walking the field everyday with the team, I love to play with the toys briefly, but I am not longer full of that young energy. I love dogs, but I don't want to live with them (I am possessive over toys with other dogs), nor cats. I love all adult and children, I am a gentle giant, who wants a real home with a comfy bed. My adoption fee is $200

He knows sit, stay leave-it, kennel, he is house trained and is working on leash manners. He is often shy at first but warms up quickly with a squeaky toy. My adoption fee is $200

Story
Dodger is an 8 year old Husky looking for a new home. He would do best in a home with a yard but he does well in apartment settings as long as he is walked daily. Dodger spends about 80% of his time laying around the house and the other 20% playing. He always loves pets. He has a pretty mild temperament is I would say for a husky he is not the most vocal. I got dodger from a rescue organization and they estimated him to be around four years of age in 2022. Before me he bounced around from home to home. He can get anxious but just being in the same room as him helps a lot. He takes shots at the vet well and has no known health issues. He does well with kids and other dogs. Cats are a big no for him, he thinks they are prey. He is good on leashed walks, he can pull sometimes, but he does not lunge at other animals while on leash. I have had a few incidents where unleashed dogs have tried to attack dodger, but he stayed calmly at my side and let me handle the situation.

Story
With a heavy heart, I am looking to find a new home for my sweet husky. He is approximately 10 years old (based on the shelter’s estimate when I adopted him in 2020) and is neutered. He is truly one of the calmest huskies you’ll ever meet. He spends most of his days happily napping and relaxing, and he’s not the typical vocal or high-energy husky. He enjoys walks and does pull on the leash, but he does very well with a head halter. He has lived with other dogs and generally does well, though he would likely thrive as the only dog in the home where he can have all the attention. Because he has shown interest in chasing cats on walks, I think a cat-free home would be the best fit. He has been a wonderful companion, and this decision has not been easy. I’m simply looking for a home where he’ll receive the time, attention, and love he deserves during his senior years. He is vaccinated, though he is not currently up to date on his vaccines.

Story
**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Hi, I am Goose, I am an Akita Mix, I am almost 8yrs old, Neutered male. I am a Homeward Bound Alumni, through no fault of my own, my 1st adopters had me for 3yrs and had to bring me back after some major life changes. I waited a long time and then found an amazing man named Jim, we had a wonderful 5 months together, but Jim's health took a turn and he could no longer safely care for me, we were both heartbroken and so was our shelter teams. Here I am waiting for a wonderful person to come along, I do like to wander so a fenced yard is a must, my ideal person would maybe take me on a short walk, I am way past my marathon walking days, I love kids (over the age of 10yrs) and am very good with them, I like dogs from a far but I don't want to live with them. I am a big, sweet, goofy boy and love to wander around the yard with you, maybe while you do your yard work. My adoption fee is $150, Sponsored by Sarah and Adam.
