Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we are over capacity and short staffed, we try to get back to everyone quickly, it may be 4-5 days. Meet Luca aka Lucas, he is a 1yr old, neutered male, husky. He transferred in from another Oregon Based shelter who are at capacity and struggling. Luca is a very sweet guy with lots and lots and lots of energy. He loves other dogs, but is not a fan of cats. Luca would love a home with physical activity, like hiking or running and with room to run. He would also love a canine play buddy, he currently plays with Mingan, Bessie, Freya and Sandy. He learns quickly from other dogs, he is very intelligent and thrives with routine!! He also loves and I mean LOVES water, whether it be a pool or a hose he doesn't care and will get in. He would not do well in a home without a yard or a private yard, no community yards please, , he has a lot of energy to burn and if he is not allowed to burn the energy off he gets mouthy out of frustration (never mean). We are working on leash training, he was pretty good manners. So, do you have an active household, do you have an energetic dog that needs a buddy, then Luca may be your next best friend!! My adoption fee is $175: This includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, microchip + 1 year membership paid for, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1 pound bag of food they are currently on. 1. Do you own or rent? 2. Do you have a private fenced yard? 3. Do you go hiking, jogging or do physical activities that he can be a part of? 4. How many people and age groups live in your home? 5. How many animals, types and what they are like! 6. Do you have time to work on his leash manners? 7. How many hours a day will he be alone? 8. Please tell us more about how he would spend his days and what activities you would plan!

Story
Freyja is a sweet 1yr 8mo old girl that needs an active home. She came to us out of a bad situation where she was poorly cared for. She is now fixed, up to date on shots and ready to live her best life. We are not a foster, but just dog lovers that couldn’t let this sweet girl end up at a kill shelter. She gets along with our other large dogs. Cats and small dogs are unknown. She would do well in a home with an active lifestyle. She does well with children but small children may get knocked over as she has a ton of energy. We just want to find this sweet girl a loving home where she can get more one on one attention than she does now as she is still very much a puppy and wants to go little else but play! She really needs to go to someone with experience with this type of dog.

Story
Kya –💜 is a beautiful, sweet, social, and energetic 6 moth old husky….Very happy, loves people, plays with dogs Cats ok so far, more curious but no aggression. Loves snuggles and belly rubs. Will play fetch with a ball and bring it back. Is potty trained and doggy door trained. Working on clicker training to distract from any unwanted or overstimulated behavior and doing great. Would do great with a person that has husky experience and someone that can exercise her regularly and work with her on a leash. She would absolutely love any outdoor activity and large space to run and play. She gets very bonded to her doggy friend and would love friends. She is an overall sweetie pie and any family will be lucky to have such a well behaved girl of her breed. Please apply at www.hopeshavenfriends.org

Rocy is a very sweet girl. She loves other dogs and people. She came to us from a family that couldn’t get her what she needs. This breed is active and she needs more excersize. We haven’t had a cat test done yet, she would make a great addition to an active home! Please research the breed before applying.

Story
Our adoption procedure will still be the following below: Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we are over capacity and short staffed, we try to get back to everyone quickly, it may be 4-5 days. Our sweet Sandy needed a break from meet and greets, but she is ready to try again. Sandy has been picked up as a stray twice and this last time her owner didn't come for her. Sandy is a spayed female, Malamute Mix approx. 3-5yrs old. When she 1st came in, she would not go out of her run, she was so scared, she would flinch when we offered her treats, it was heart breaking. Sandy was very overweight when she arrived, we ran blood work and all was normal. Slowly she started to get more comfortable. Then we got another stray in named Romeo a sweet handsome Husky in and Sandy became animated, barking, prancing, tail was up and she was ready to meet him. Once his stray hold was up, they went out together and day by day she has gotten more confident. She plays with several other dogs in our field and has no problem letting them know when she has had to much. Sandy doesn't like yelling of any kind or fast movement, she has never been aggressive but it really scares her. Sandy needs a kind soul to continue her healing, she would love a husky brother or sister. Did we mention she has lost weight and can now roll around in our field, she loves it. She is still very shy with new people, but once she trusts you, your heart will melt. Sandy would prefer a home with other dogs, her favorite dog is a husky and this is the way to her heart and for her to trust you. My adoption fee is $100: This includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, microchip + 1 year membership paid for, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1 pound bag of food they are currently on. 1. How many people and ages live in your home? 2. Do you have a big fenced backyard for me? 3. How many animals and types live in your home? 4. Will you help me continue to lose weight? 5. Are you kind hearted, softer spoken, can you offer gentle touch?
