🐾 Adopt Teddy: Your New Furry Friend! 🐾 Meet Teddy, the charming pup who's ready to be a part of your family! Teddy is a smart and silly dog with a heart full of adventure - without all the adventures! He loves to explore and spend time in the yard and lie in the sun. He gets along with other dogs very well! Though Teddy is still very shy and timid with humans, he still loves to follow you around, see what you are up to, and to be near you! With a little patience and love, he'll be the perfect companion for your home. He is only for someone who has the patience to give him TIME! After living a life outdoors, he is just so grateful to be inside a home at all! If you're looking for a dog who will open up with time and patience, Teddy is the one for you! We have a LOT of experience with the super shy ones, and we KNOW they all come out of their shell and end up being easy peasy companions full of gratitude and love. Teddy also has an enlarged esophagus and needs to be fed WET FOOD (not kibble) or he will throw it up. With wet food he has been fine for 2 straight weeks - so far (starting in early March)! Yay! Contact us today to meet Teddy at Colleen@startrescue.org

Story
This sweet girl is the perfect mix of playful and chill. She’s gentle, loving, and happiest when she’s near her people. Whether she’s enjoying a walk, hanging out in the yard, or simply resting by your side while you work, she’s always content just being part of the day. CALLIE loves the company of other dogs—especially friendly, playful pups close to her own size. She’d do best in a home without small children, simply because of her size and enthusiasm. She’s affectionate and adores attention, sometimes so much that she tries to climb right into your lap during pets! She is truly a big ole lapdog. There’s really nothing difficult about her—she’s easygoing, sweet, and ready to be someone’s loyal companion. If you’re looking for a dog who balances playtime with calm companionship, she could be the perfect fit for you. She is currently located in Portland, OR and would love to meet you! Contact colleen@startrescue.org for more information or you can apply at startrescue.org/adopt She is fixed and vaccinated.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Celine Dion – a stunning 4-year-old Greyhound/Lab mix with a personality as big as her name! Weighing in around 58 pounds, Celine was rescued from the euthanasia list at a Houston shelter and has been thriving ever since in her loving foster home in North Carolina. She’s spayed, healthy, and available for out-of-state adoption once matched with an approved adopter—transport can be arranged to bring this superstar home to you! Celine is joyful, curious, and always ready for fun. She brings a playful spark wherever she goes—whether it’s romping in the yard with dog friends, chasing her favorite toy, or exploring new places. Her ideal playmates are other large dogs who enjoy an energetic buddy and don’t mind a little bounce in their step. She’d also be perfectly happy as the center of attention in a home where she can get plenty of activity and enrichment. This sweet girl is making great strides with her leash manners and training. She’s crate trained, housebroken, and settles quickly after an initial burst of excitement when it’s time for a walk. She’s eager to please and motivated by treats, which makes her a fun and responsive learner. Celine adores people and has done wonderfully around her foster’s 12-year-old child. She gets so excited to say hello that she sometimes forgets her size—but she’s learning to greet people more gently and is improving every day. Because of her enthusiasm, we recommend a home with kids over 10 who are comfortable around playful, happy dogs. She’s respectful with toys and food, shows no guarding behavior, and enjoys being near her humans for affection, praise, and snuggles. In the car, she may pant at first, but she’s gaining confidence with each ride—and a few more adventures will help her become a travel pro. Celine would thrive in an active home with room to stretch her legs, regular walks, and loving guidance to help her keep growing into her best self. Whether she’s your one-and-only or joins a friendly pack, she’s ready to fill your days with laughter, companionship, and love. Ready to be serenaded daily with joy and tail wags? Celine Dion is waiting to steal your heart. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Nira here is a thoughtful heart and chase queen! Nira is so fortunate and is waiting for her adoption day living in a loving foster home. Her foster shared Nira is both house and crate trained and has been a fun addition to her crew of dogs and kids. Basically, she kinda slid right in and has been playing and snuggling ever since. Before reading on, be sure to watch Nira’s YouTube video to see her love of toys, drive by kisses, and gorgeous listening ears. https://youtu.be/OnUqeKf6NCs Nira is a sweet, thoughtful girl who can take just a beat to warm up to new people, but once she feels safe, she shows her loving, playful side in the most genuine way. She’s not the type to rush in, she prefers to observe a bit before making her full, loving commitment.. And when she does? You’re an item. This girl is wonderfully dog-oriented and truly shines when she has canine companionship. Her confidence noticeably grows when another dog is present, and she relaxes into herself much more easily. She enjoys play that involves chasing and movement, and even though we cannot say with a guarantee what her breed is we see her herding instincts come out when a good round of chase gets going. She also gets a little vocal when she is playing but it is all in good fun. She would do wonderful paired with a medium-energy, goofy dog who can keep things fun. As much as she loves playing with a doggie friend- she is more than happy to entertain herself with a toy. Stuffies are a fave but she has yet to meet a toys she didnt enjoy. With people, Nira needs time and calm introductions. Her foster shared that new environments and unfamiliar faces can seem to overwhelm her at first, so she’ll do best in a quieter home that understands the value of slow trust-building and a little patience. Once she bonds, she seeks affection, jumps up to ask for love, and happily engages with her people. Treats are a big motivator for her and go a long way in helping her feel comfortable and confident so stock up! Nira would thrive in a home with a yard, another dog in the home, and adopters who are patient, consistent, and respectful of her need for space early on. She is not a candidate for apartment or city living and would be happiest as a homebody dog rather than one expected to tag along to outings or social events. Kids and family life are welcome! She lives with kids age 11 & 13 and adores them. She will also needs a cat-free home, as she will chase cats. She lives with cats in her foster home but has more recently been separated from them for her love of chase. It is all fun-loving on her end but the cats agree- the feeling is not mutual. For the right home, she is ready to be an incredibly devoted companion. Nira is ready with deep, loyal, and lasting love. Ready to welcome Nira home?
