Story
Slow introductions are essential to earning winsome 1-year-old Violet’s trust. Once past her initial shyness, this 14-pound “flower” began to bloom in her foster home, revealing how very lovable and sweet she is, climbing onto laps and cuddling, happily waking up and running to say “good morning” to everyone with a constantly wagging tail. After being slowly introduced to her two doggy foster friends, she began playing first with the small one and then with the larger one, making them one dynamic doggy trio! Famous for her frequent zoomies, running laps around the house, Violet loves playing with and grabbing toy after toy, and chasing them around the house as well. She also loves going for walks, walking well on leash, is motivated by food, small soft toys and love, and especially enjoys chicken, duck and rabbit treats, accepting them gently. While she currently knows no commands, she’s eager to please and to learn, is crate trained and at work on her house-training. Now for Violet to truly bloom, she needs particularly patient adopters, perhaps with older dog-savvy children, who will not only win her trust but introduce her slowly to the wide world outside, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her in cuddles fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here. Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Meet Noodle! Noodle is a very special little guy who was found as a stray and taken to a local shelter. Noodle is blind and has neurological issues, most likely cerebellar hypoplasia which impacts his motor skills. Despite all this Noodle loves to cruise around just as much as he loves to cuddle. Noodle needs a calm, quiet home preferably with a family that is experienced with blind dogs. Noodle also experiences idiopathic aggression and should not go to a home with small children. Noodle will need to be fostered prior to adoption to make sure it is a good fit.

Story
Oscar is a sensitive boy! This little nugget will appreciate a gentle and patient adopter that gives him time and space to settle into his new home. He might enjoy living with a like-sized canine companion, but at this time, HSBV will only rehome him to a family with children over the age of 10.

Story
Maxwell is a 2-3 year old, 18lb cutie.  To say Maxwell is perfect is an understatement.  Maxwell is the most amazing dog in the whole world.  Here is what Maxwell's foster has to say about him: "Here's Mr. Perfect!  Walks well on a leash, potty trained, crate trained, doesn't bark, good with other dogs, doesn't mind the cat - and just the happiest little boy ever." Maxwell would be great with any family as long as they love him as much as he is ready to love them. He is a big, handsome lover and deserves the best home. Story
Atticus hasn’t had an easy life, which is why his perpetually energetic, upbeat, infectious and loving personality is so surprising. Abandoned on the side of the road, starving, thin and locked in a kennel, he (not surprisingly) has some separation anxiety, but he gets better and better every day at regulating his own emotions and breaking down his fears. He is fantastic on a leash and loves adventures of all kinds, an extrovert who hasn’t met a dog/cat/human/kid he doesn’t LOVE. He’s a cuddler, and loves to be hugged and held and told what a very good boy he is, but can also be super chill and hang out with the people he loves. An ideal home is an active one with the flexibility to help him conquer his lingering anxiety and separation issues, work from home, take your dog to work, or will have other pet siblings to keep him company. Atticus the terrier has gained his weight back, has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and had a little grooming (his haircut now is perfect for anyone who wants to help him find his most handsome hair style). Vets believe him to be around 2 years old, but he still has some puppy energy and loves to play. He’s a little self conscious of his low-key needy-ness, so let’s get him lots of shares to find him a forever home where he can be sure he’ll never be unloved again! Atticus should not be overlooked!
