Story
Maggie is 3-4 year old Terrier/Chihuahua/Poodle mix weighing about 15lbs.  Maggie came to us over a year ago from a hoarding case where there were over 60 Chihuahua/Poodle mixes living in a small home in Denver.  They were all incredibly under socialized and neglected, with most of the females being pregnant.  We were able to take in 5 of the pregnant moms from Maxfund to help get them into a safe and comfortable place to give birth and raise their puppies.  We also took about 8 other dogs from the hoarding case to start them socializing and learning how to "dog".  Maggie is now the last dog from the hoarding case and needs her forever family.  Maggie has clearly been through a lot and still has a long way to come.  She is a sweet girl but still pretty timid around humans.  She will come and snuggle with her foster Momma on her terms but it did take an incredibly long time for that to happen.  Maggie really needs a human who can be patient with her and give her a forever home with lots of love knowing she came from an incredibly rough situation and will probaly never be a completely "normal" dog. Her fosters describe her as more of a cat-dog.  We know she could make more progress with some training as well.  We will require she goes to a home with another dog so she can continue to learn how to trust and be a dog. Story
Rupert is a 3MO, 10lb short legged, scruffy, adorable pup.  We are guessing he will be about 20-25lbs when full grown.  Rupert and his siblings are all different and unique, which makes it hard for us to even guess what breeds they truly are.  Honestly we have zero idea what their breeds are, but we know they are absolutely adorable, unique, and so, so sweet.   Rupert and his siblings were found as strays in a rural part of Texas.  They were absolutely terrified at first.  A wonderful rescue lady in the area brought all the pups back to her house and kept them safe until we could get them into our rescue program.  They have really started to come out of their shells and learn all that life has to give - when you aren't busy fighting for your life in the middle of nowhere.   Rupert and his siblings are typical puppies.  They love to play with each other, romp around with the fosters other dogs, and follow the foster around, cuirously watching them.  They love to snuggle and hang out.  Their forever families will need to be patient with them as they continue to learn all that life has to offer and that humans are kind and safe.  While they have little legs, they would still love to have a sibling to play with or someone who can take them on daily walks/adventures and get them continual mental stimulation and socialization. Story
Coral is a picky, clingy, demanding, stalker, probably with some abandonment issues, who doesn't like long walks on the beach, and just wants to be cuddled up next to you... forever... or else... But who's perfect? We all have our baggage and know you secretly relate. This two year old Terrier mix was surrendered by her owner, so she might just has some abandonment issues, but that's nothing her therapist can't work through. She's clingy to her person and stalks you when you leave like looking out the window (better not catch you saying hi to that bitch next door). She can also be demanding, like barking when she wants her person to go to bed. She's picky in that she likes to play with littles and will only tolerate bigger, but won't interact much. Likes: sunbathing Dislikes: this low energy girl doesn’t need to go on too long of walks Huge plus... potty trained! Hallelujah! Given that last positive, won't you make Coral your Valentine? Furever? Coral is currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, watching soaps and rom-coms, wondering if she'll ever find love again, but holding out a little faith that an adopter or open foster home in Colorado will ask to bring bring up and into their home. ***Coral is being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. The adoption fee does not include the transport fee (usually $125-200/dog).*** Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio. ##2649536##

Story
Granny arrives in Colorado Saturday 2/7/2026 and needs a committed foster home or adopter to welcome her! Granny is a 4-5 year old, small but mighty 10 pound Terrier mix who was running the streets of Texas. No, not like the mafia, running with her legs. She wasn't going to trust just anybody with a piece of burger, who knows what she's been through, so she had to be trapped. Once brought into a safe home, it took her a few days to warm up so she will need an understanding and patient adopter to allow for some decompression time. Once she's built some trust and comfy cozy, she will roll over and show you her belly. It's important that you rub that belly's Granny is missing an eye but she isn't in any pain or require any current or future treatment. It was decided not to remove her eye as it would have been strictly for cosmetic purposes and she was already a babe who didn't need to be put through a surgery after all she's been through.  Granny loves a good snuggle under the blankets. If she is "missing," you might want to go check for a peaceful, napping Granny underneath a blanket pile. She also loves going outside and running through the tunnels at her rescuers house. A good mix of energy and chill. Granny can live with or without dogs- she's good with other dogs but doesn’t play with them. She's good with kids, crate trained, mostly potty trained and never barks. She's not super into walking on leash so she'd do best with a yard and someone willing to encourage and work on leash training so she can benefit from all the adventures a leash can lead to. Granny is currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, awaiting an adopter or open foster home in Colorado to bring her up and into their home! ***Granny is being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. The adoption fee does not include the transport fee (usually $125-200/dog).*** Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. Story
Lashes 1 yo 10 lb F Terrier mix She was found as a stray in the valley not reclaimed From foster: “She is very sweet, definitely a kisser, she stays in her crate with no issues when we have to leave, if loose in the house we just gotta keep an eye on her since she is a chewer, she doesn’t like when my big dog gets close to her crate and she is scared to play with her since she is too big, she waits until I take her out to potty so no accidents in her crate at all, she likes all people including my 8 years old   “She is not a barker she is a very quiet girl unless my big dog walks by her crate when I’m taking her out since I take them separately    Energy level? “I will say she is 5 out of 10, she still has energy to play and run but if I take her to bed with me it takes her maybe 5 minutes to stop kissing haha and then takes a nap next to me” ##2650731##
