Sugar is a 2-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix (with a little Chihuahua, we think!) weighing in at 16 lbs of pure love and personality. She’s a friendly, sweet girl who adores people, gets along great with other dogs, and would love nothing more than a family that will cherish her forever.
Sugar had a home her whole life, but her owner fell ill and was moved into a nursing home. Unfortunately for Sugar, when her owner got sent to the nursing home, she ended up in a scary shelter in rural Texas. Despite this big scary life change, Sugar has done super well on her journey to Colorado and acclimating into her foster home.

Sugar is a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. With positive reinforcement training, she has all the potential in the world to be a loyal, well-mannered adult companion. She’ll thrive with virtual or in-person force-free training classes, which will help strengthen her bond with her humans and build her confidence.
Sugar is up to date on her vaccinations and is spayed.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.

Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog.
