Story
Ollie is a sweet and spirited 5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier with a heart full of love and energy! He thrives in an active home where he has plenty of space to run, roam, and explore. Ollie lives for playtime and would be happiest with a family that can match his energy and enthusiasm for fun. He’s great with kids (especially small children!) and does well with other dogs, making him an awesome companion for families with young ones or other playful pups. He’s also a total lovebug who adores being pet and will happily snuggle up with you when it’s time to wind down & Ollie is an expert cuddler. That said, Ollie doesn’t do well with cats, so a cat-free home is a must. He’s the perfect mix of adventure and affection, and he’ll bring so much joy, laughter, and loyalty to the right home. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion with a big personality and even bigger heart, Ollie might be your perfect match.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Schroeder — Small Pup, Big Personality!🐾✨ Schroeder is a 1-year-old, 16 LB Jack Russell Terrier/Dachshund mix who made his way to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA, and now he’s hoping to find his forever home right here in WA! This sweet, spotted little guy is full of charm. With his adorable ears, expressive puppy-dog eyes (yes, he’s already mastered the look), and confident leash strut, Schroeder is equal parts heart-stealer and adventure buddy. He’s smart, treat-motivated, and always ready to explore the world around him. Schroeder has done great with other dogs and loves to play, so he’d be thrilled to have a canine companion in the home to show him the ropes and keep him entertained. That said, he could also thrive as an only dog—as long as his adopters are committed to continuing his socialization and making sure he gets plenty of playtime with dog friends. He hasn’t been tested with cats or children yet. Schroeder is the perfect mix of playful and affectionate, and he’s looking for a home that will embrace his curiosity, take him on adventures, and give him the love and structure to keep thriving. Schroeder is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Loke — shy, sensitive, and looking for a soft place to land. Loke is a tender little soul who’s still learning to feel safe in the world. She’s anxious and nervous right now, and will need a patient, understanding home to help her build confidence. She seems to find comfort in the company of other dogs, so we’re specifically looking for a home with a resident dog to help guide and reassure her. Potty training is very much a work in progress. Loke has not yet made the connection between walks and potty time—she tends to hold it in outside, then go once she’s back in her pen. Her routine is unpredictable for now, and she’s having regular accidents both inside the pen and in her crate. Her foster is giving her lots of love, baths, and clean bedding while she works through this phase. Loke is not a high-energy puppy; right now, she’s just focused on adjusting, observing, and learning to trust. She’ll need time, consistency, and a calm, compassionate home ready to meet her where she is. If you’re looking to give a gentle dog the chance to grow at her own pace, Loke may be the one who quietly steals your heart. ----- A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters: Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means: ✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment. ✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing). ✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed. The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like. Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are. Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Meet Anemone! This sweet 1-year-old Jack Russell/Boxer mix is the perfect mix of playful energy and snuggly affection. Weighing in at around 30 pounds, Anemone is just the right size for all kinds of adventures, whether it’s playing fetch, chasing after toys, or just lounging on the couch with his favorite humans. Anemone was adopted as a puppy from a local shelter and was found as a stray at 1 yr old. After his previous owner never came forward to claim him we learned that he was heartworm and erlichia positive. He has been through treatment and will have no lasting effects. He’s a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs, so if you’ve got a furry friend at home, he’ll fit right in! Anemone absolutely thrives on attention from his people—he’s always ready for rubs and playtime. If you aren’t paying attention to him he uses his Boxer hands to grab your arm for pets! He’s got a heart full of love to give and is looking for a family who will share in his excitement for life. Anemone is located in Texas. His adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip and neuter.
