Story
If you're a fan of scruffy and spunky terriers, then Rigby may be your match! This adorable 11-year-old Jack Russell Terrier is ready for his second act. Rigby is looking for a dog experienced family who can give him plenty of time to settle into his new home. And once he's feeling comfortable, his true personality comes out. And it's full of playful pep and charming character. Rigby likes taking cozy naps, going for walks, and playing with stuffed toys. He has a good history with other dogs and likes to chase cats. Any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Rigby can be sensitive to handling and will do best in a quiet, predictable home with just teens and adults. If you're ready to welcome home this special guy, make an adoption appointment to meet him today!

Story
Gizmo has a unique personality. He can be fully engaged with you one moment, and the next he is chasing a squirrel. He is dog selective, meaning he gets along with some but not all other dogs BUT he is not selective when it comes to humans.. he loves everyone. He is barrier aggressive to other dogs and has to eat alone, as he thinks other dogs will take his food. He has a Jack Russell attitude in a pit bull body. To know him is to love him*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Animal Profile: Emerald is an estimated 10-month-old, 13 lb spayed female short-coated tricolor Chihuahua mix who was picked up as a stray and taken to the overcrowded Bakersfield animal shelter, where she was kenneled with two other dogs, Pearl and Jade. Emerald is friendly with other dogs and people. We will share more info as we get to know her in foster care.  Foster Update: Emerald - going by Emmy in her foster home - is doing great and is the ideal big dog in a small package. She is a spunky, athletic pup who loves other dogs, loves people and is cuddly. She will be your hiking buddy or your everyday walking buddy. She and the resident small dog absolutely love to wrestle. She would love a playful, high-energy canine companion in her forever home, or else plenty of good walks with her human every day. She can be vocal in the crate when she wants to get out but is working on this in her foster home. For this reason, she may not be the best fit for an apartment. Emmy is doing very well with house training. This very active puppy is also an active chewer, so having plenty of toys to keep her busy will be helpful! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was found as a stray in Bakersfield. She is arriving to foster care in Seattle on 04/23/23. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.September 28, 2023, 1:25 pm

Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org The adoption fee is $450.00 which includes their transport, spay/neuter and all vetting. Shorty - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Shorty has had his lil world turned upside down. His elderly owner who loved them very much had to move in with family and is not longer able to care for him and his 2 buddies, Oreo and Lexie. Not only did he lose his owner but his home as well. Being the lil trooper he is, he's settled down in his new foster home and is doing remarkably well. It helped he got to stay with his doggie family and is making friends with the other foster pups there. Shorty is around 5 years young and would make a great companion for just about any household. He is at the age where he's just a lot of fun to have around. Some benefits to adopting an older pup - What you see is what you get, no guessing how big they will be or what they will look like grown They are already house and crate trained They are out of the puppy destructive stage, they don't need to be constantly monitored If they are quiet for too long, they're probably taking a snooze Shorty is super affectionate with everyone. He loves attention and his tail never stops moving! And with those ears you'll never eat another snack alone, even when he is or I should say...was 3 rooms away!! We're not sure how many kiddos he's been around but with his friendly personality he should be fine with dog savvy kids. Shorty is house and crate trained making him an excellent addition for a (he's hoping, your) family. Coming in in the small category at 12lbs he's the perfect size for strolls around the neighborhood, walks to the local coffee shop, trips to town for your errand runs and of course stopping at the park for some play time or just relaxing watching the squirrels. And the best part is he's not so big he'll take up the whole couch for his beloved cuddle time! With his mixed breed hairytage, Shorty is low maintenance in the grooming department, pretty much a wash-n-go type of fella which you know what that means? It means there is more time for the cuddle department!! His favoritest time! Will you be the family that will right Shorty's world again? You just need to stop scrolling and fill out his adoption application and we'll take it from there!!! This family includes Oreo, Lexie and Shorty

Bubbles - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Do you know how I got my name? Yep, from my bubbly personality. Always working at how next to put a smile on your face! That's not really work cuz just one look at this face and you can't help but feel that twitch of the lips and then I just need to give you one of 'my looks' and that twitch will turn into a full blown smile! My super power at it's finest!!! At only around a year old I am an active playful pup that still has a lot of learning to do, and with your help, I'm ready to ROCK it!! My house training is coming along and I'm getting pretty good at going outside to potty and I am crate trained. I do real well with the other foster pups here and would love having a playful sibling to torment...oops, did I say that out loud? I meant to say play with. ;) Nothing like getting in some zoomies out in the yard with a cohort in crime!!!! I will need to have plenty of exercise and playtime in to keep my body and mind stimulated and my shenanigans at a minimal (that's my young age and the terrier part of me coming out). At around 10lbs I'm at my growed up weight and will stay on the small side so it'll be easy to just scoop me up and take along on all your daily activities. My favoritest time is you and me time, no matter what we're doing!! And the bestest thing is I don't take up much room on the couch or recliner. I'm a perfect fit for just about any lap! The sun is shining up in the sky, throwing you your little shadow...ME! Never be by yourself again, I'll follow you from room to room, outside to back inside. Even when the sun goes away at the end of the day, you'll know it'll be coming back to brightener your day cuz I am here, still being your shadow!!
