Jackie Chi is a 7 year old "Jack Chi" (born 2019)], Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua mix. When her hair is cut short, she looks more like a Chihuahua; when her hair grows out, she gets the terrier snout hair and wavy longish body hair, and looks like a Jack Russell Terrier! We adopted her through a dog rescue, coming all the way from Guadalajara, Mexico (They called her, "Cherry"; but since she was a Jack Chi and female, we named her Jackie Chi which she immediately responded to). She has no health problems (like most Chihuahuas, her teeth need care). She's a very loving, quick-to-warm-up-to-people friendly dog. Being passive and reserved, she never shows aggression (only if threatened by another dog). She loves being with our Grandchildren and Great Grandchild. While she is content indoors, she loves the outdoors; part of why we want to re-home her, since we are aging and in an elderly apartment complex. She loves walks and a yard would be important to her.

My name is Lucas, and I’m a 4-year-old male Jack Russell Terrier × Welsh mix weighing around 10kg. I have a compact, sturdy body — but my short little legs are what everyone notices first. People often say I look extra adorable when I walk, and I think it’s because every step I take naturally makes people smile. 😊 For a long time, I lived in a shelter. I was rescued just before euthanasia, and since then I’ve been given a second chance at life. Now I’m staying in a training facility where I’m slowly learning what the world is like outside the shelter. Everything still feels new to me — other dogs playing freely, interesting smells on walks, toys, and especially kind human attention. It’s almost like I’m finally experiencing what it means to just be a dog. Because I’m discovering so much for the first time, I get very curious about everything around me. But there are also things I still need help understanding. Sometimes, if a hand suddenly reaches over my head or someone touches me unexpectedly, I can get scared and react defensively. In those moments, it may look like I’m trying to bite, but it’s really just fear — a way for me to protect myself when I feel unsure. When people take time to approach me gently, that behavior becomes much less, and my true personality starts to show. Because deep down… I’m actually a very sweet and affectionate boy. 💛 I just need time. What I need most is not quick bonding, but patience and understanding. If you let me come to you at my own pace instead of forcing touch or rushing interactions, I will slowly begin to trust you. It helps a lot when people approach me from the side or below rather than reaching over my head, and when they use calm voices and positive experiences to help me feel safe. Once I trust someone, I become a completely different dog — I love attention, I follow my person around, and I show a very affectionate and playful side. I also need time to adjust because I haven’t really experienced normal home life before. A house, daily routines, leash walking in neighborhoods, being alone for short periods, and house training — all of these are still new to me. At first, I may feel nervous or make mistakes, but that’s not bad behavior. It’s just me learning how to live in a home. What helps me grow is guidance, not punishment. With a stable routine, regular walks, and positive reinforcement, I can gradually build confidence and feel more secure. I’m smart and curious, and with the right support, I learn step by step at my own pace. In the beginning, it’s really important for me to have a calm environment and not too much overwhelming stimulation. If I’m given space and time to feel safe, I will slowly open my heart. And when I do, I will stay by your side with all my loyalty and love. I may not be the easiest dog at first, but I promise I have a heart that is ready to love deeply once I feel safe. Meet Missy & Patches, Twice the Sweetness Some things are simply better together, and after a lifetime side by side, Missy and Patches are ready to find a forever home where they can spend their golden years exactly that way. Missy, 12, is the mellow, confident half of this mother-daughter duo. She's easygoing, food motivated, and a big fan of life's finer things: leisurely sniffy walks, sunbathing, tasty snacks, and settling in for a good nap. She may politely hang back while her daughter demands attention, but don't be fooled. Missy would very much like a spot on your lap, thank you! When she's feeling silly, she'll roll around huffing or give Patches a little side nibble to get a game started. Patches, 10, is the affectionate little shadow of the family. She can be shy initially, but once you're hers, she's ALL IN. Expect cuddles, kisses, and a companion who would prefer you remain within easy snuggling distance at all times. She'll even barge ahead of Mom to make sure she gets her fair share of attention! When emotions run high, Patches communicates through adorable howls and yips, and she's mastered "raccoon hands," standing up with both front paws in the air. Don't let their ages fool you, either. These ladies still get the zoomies, chasing each other through the house and engaging in enthusiastic mother-daughter wrestling matches, especially first thing in the morning and right before bed. Then it's back to their regularly scheduled napping. Missy and Patches enjoy sniffy walks and leisurely outdoor time, but they're happiest simply being wherever their people are. They are spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
