Story
Romeo here… and yep, you’re definitely going to fall in love with me I’m a happy little guy with a big heart and an even bigger love for snuggles. I’m great with dogs, love kids, and I do okay with kitties too — sometimes I just need a gentle reminder that not everyone wants puppy-level excitement My favorite things? Crinkly toys, stuffies, cozy beds, and being close to my people. I’m pee pad trained and working hard on my potty training like the smart boy I am. At bedtime, my favorite spot is snuggled up in bed right next to you for sleeps If you’re looking for a playful little shadow who will make you smile every single day, I think we might just be a perfect match Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
**Meet Beau: Your Future Furry Companion**   **Five-year-old Beau** Introducing Beau, a stunning Jack Russell-Papillon mix affectionately known as a Papi-Jack. At just 5 years old, Beau is a devoted and affectionate companion who, despite his initial shyness, can quickly transform into your most delightful friend. His joy upon seeing his favorite human is heartwarming, as he eagerly seeks love and affection. If you're looking for a furry friend to fill your heart and home, Beau is ready to give his all to someone who will cherish him forever. Behold, gorgeous, sweet, and wonderful Beau. Beau originally came from a hoarding situation, where he was locked in a large crate for most of the day with other dogs. He runs free at the rescue because crate confinement is stressful for him. Beau needs and loves having a yard to soak up the sun and take potty breaks. While he enjoys the company of one or two dog friends for socialization and will do well with buddies, he can also thrive as the only dog, soaking up all the attention. An adult-only home is essential for Beau, as he can be frightened by children or grandchildren, which may lead to anxiety and biting. His shyness means he prefers a calm, quiet atmosphere where sudden movements and loud noises don’t startle him. Are you searching for a sweet, loving companion who wants to be by your side every moment? Beau is the playful friend you've dreamed of, eager to bring joy into your life. He boasts a medium-to-long, soft, silky coat that requires regular grooming to keep him looking his best. Known for his cleanliness, Beau enjoys being brushed, showered with attention, and receiving those all-important hugs. He's housebroken, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Beau is not just a pet; he's a loyal companion who forms deep bonds with his special person. As a natural watchdog, he’ll let you know when guests arrive, but he will appreciate a quiet spot to retreat to when unfamiliar faces come over. With just 1-2 close companions, Beau becomes the ultimate lap dog, showering you with kisses and hugs once he feels secure in your presence. He gets along wonderfully with small dogs and enjoys playing with older puppies. Due to his Jack Russell heritage, Beau has a strong prey drive and needs a home without other small animals. So, no cats, mice, reptiles, or similar pets can be kept in the household. **Ready to Make Beau Part of Your Family?** If you’re intrigued by the prospect of welcoming Beau into your life, please use the link below to apply for adoption. Our dedicated team will review your application, address any questions you might have, and ensure you’re a great match for this lovable pup. To welcome Beau into your heart and home, the adoption fee is $350.00. Every dollar goes towards covering medical care and helping us rescue more dogs in need. Don’t wait—complete the online application via the link below and provide as much information as possible. Let’s work together to find the perfect match for both you and Beau! https://rompinpawsrescue.com   May 10, 2026, 11:44 am

Story
**KIWI** Kiwi is a seven-year-old purebred Jack Russell Terrier with a big personality. He loves chasing balls, going for car rides, walks, and running in the sun. Like many Jack Russells, he can get possessive over toys, so if he lives with or visits other dogs, it's best to put toys away. Kiwi has never had to share his things before, so he can be protective of them. He would do best as the only dog in the home, but with careful management of toys, he can live with other dogs without problems. Kiwi enjoys car rides and is always ready for an adventure. At home during the day, he keeps himself busy chewing on an elk antler or napping. In the mornings and evenings, he likes spending time with people. Kiwi came to us from an overcrowded shelter after his owner passed away, and no family members could take him. He arrived with a limp, but after a week of eating a high-quality diet, taking joint supplements, using a muscle builder, and going on gentle, longer walks, he is moving much better. However, the vet suspects trauma to his spine. We are scheduling X-rays to determine where any trauma lies. Kiwi is an active pup, and we will pass on the findings to his potential adopters.  We ask that his adopters continue with this food and supplement routine to help him stay healthy and active. Kiwi should have his hip checked by a vet, but we are happy with his progress and believe his stiffness was mostly due to being kept in a small cat cage at the shelter. Kiwi is affectionate, curious, and adventurous, and he bonds quickly with people. Because of his strong prey drive, he needs a home without small animals, including cats. He would do well with older children who are experienced with dogs. **Adopting Kiwi** To adopt, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application and follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and determine whether you are a good match for this pup. If a match is made, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to complete the application, as tablets and cell phones may disrupt the process. Kiwi has transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and focuses on a healthy, canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition. The adoption fee for Kiwi is $395 and includes his vaccinations, rabies vaccination, microchip, and neuter.   www.smallpupsrescue.org     May 10, 2026, 11:44 am

She may be a little shy when meeting new people but with patience and kindness, her gentle personality begins to blossom. A few treats will certainly help win her over. We can't predict growth but based on her weight at her current age, she's expected to be between 28-35lbs, fully grown. Pippy enjoys playing with other dogs but when playtime winds down, she’s happiest curled up close, soaking in affection and making herself right at home as a cuddle companion. With a loving home and someone willing to give her time to warm up, Pippy will grow into a deeply loyal and affectionate sidekick. Story
Meet Loke — curious, sensitive, and looking for a soft place to land. Formerly shy, but becoming bolder by the day. Loke is an attentive and active household member. She is eager to hop on your work calls, distract you with a toy squeak or alert you of the slightest door closing. She’s a tender little soul who’s still learning personal boundaries with her humans and fellow dogs. She’s a little anxious and nervous, but also keenly curious! She will need a patient, and experienced home to build confidence and redirect her inquisitive energy. She is quick to learn new tricks and exists happily with other dogs. We expect with the proper training, she would thrive as an outdoorsy dog, or in the world of agility! Loke’s potty training has made a lot of progress but she still has the occasional accident inside. Her foster is giving her lots of love, and consistent bathroom breaks while she works through this phase. Loke is a high-energy and intelligent dog who is learning to be confident and walk on a leash. Her foster started training basic commands to help hone in her energy. She’s learned sit, come, and down already. She’ll need time, consistency, and a calm home to meet her where she is while helping her explore new tricks! If you’re looking for an active dog who also needs a slow and steady home to build their confidence, Loke may be the one who quietly steals your heart. ----- A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters: Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means: ✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment. ✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing). ✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed. The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like. Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are. Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
