Have you ever heard of a dog being abandoned at a doggie day care? Well, that's my story. I have no idea why, I'm fun, playful, get along with everyone. I'm still a puppy, so I have a lot to learn and I'm probably still growing a bit, but I'm very content to hang out and get cuddles and love, so I hope you'll meet me, fall in love with me, and adopt me. *PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org * Drake is loving life in his foster home, but now it’s time for him to find his furever family… We rescued Drake back in 2020. He is a 7 year old pup now and we guess he is a labradoodle mix. He was adopted a few years ago but recently, instead of contacting us to surrender the Drake back to us when they were unable to keep him, the adopter brought him to the shelter. Not only did they bring him to the shelter, they told the shelter to EUTHANIZE HIM!! Why? Because he is reactive/ doesn’t get along with small dogs, something they knew when they adopted him. Thankfully we were notified and able to get him back into our care quickly. He has been doing so well in foster and deserves to finally find the right people. Drake is a big boy (100+ pounds, but does need to lose some weight) and loves cuddles. He greatly enjoys long walks and car rides. He is super smart and food motivated. Drake is a go with the flow dude who just wants people to love. He would be best as the only animal in the home and with people committed to managing his reactivity. He is very easy to redirect with treats and will thrive with the right people. Drake is currently being fostered in Santa Monica, California area but can be adopted anywhere as long as you can come to SoCal and drive home. *PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org . Drake's adoption fee is $400*

Meet Finn! Finn is a 4 year old Lab mix with a heart as big as his paws. This handsome, large-breed 77lb boy is an active pup who thrives on playtime, especially when there's a tennis ball involved! He’s a fetch pro and would love a home where he can get plenty of exercise and outdoor time. Finn may be a little reserved at first, but give him a bit of time and you'll see his sweet, loyal nature shine through. Once he knows you’re a friend, he’s all in, with tail wags, affection, and goofy charm. Sadly, Finn was abandoned at a shelter by his previous family, but he’s settling in well at our facility and slowly learning to trust again. He’s already showing how resilient and loving he can be. Finn walks nicely on a leash and gets along well with other dogs. He’d do best in an active, patient home where he can continue building his confidence and feel like part of the family again.
