Story
Beppo was an owner surrender to a high kill shelter in a really bad area. He was well cared for, but the owner decided he just didn't want the responsibility. I'm so happy we were able to get him because the shelters have zero criteria for screening possible homes. Beppo is a fantastic, well behaved playful and happy boy. He is fostered with another doodle and having the time of his life. He would do best in an active home w/ boundaries and leadership. He would do wonderful as a hiking pal and a dog park player. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Story
Milo is a very fun dog! He loves to run and play. Although, he has mellowed out from his puppy stages. He is two years old now. We have had him since he was a puppy. He loves to nap and is pretty low maintenance. He is very healthy and extremely protective. He’s a cuddler and very affectionate. He is still trainable as far as any tricks skills that you’d want to instill. He’s a great doggy, but we can no longer keep him due to the demands of having two children two and under.

*PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org * Drake is loving life in his foster home, but now it’s time for him to find his furever family… We rescued Drake back in 2020. He is a 7 year old pup now and we guess he is a labradoodle mix. He was adopted a few years ago but recently, instead of contacting us to surrender the Drake back to us when they were unable to keep him, the adopter brought him to the shelter. Not only did they bring him to the shelter, they told the shelter to EUTHANIZE HIM!! Why? Because he is reactive/ doesn’t get along with small dogs, something they knew when they adopted him. Thankfully we were notified and able to get him back into our care quickly. He has been doing so well in foster and deserves to finally find the right people. Drake is a big boy (100+ pounds, but does need to lose some weight) and loves cuddles. He greatly enjoys long walks and car rides. He is super smart and food motivated. Drake is a go with the flow dude who just wants people to love. He would be best as the only animal in the home and with people committed to managing his reactivity. He is very easy to redirect with treats and will thrive with the right people. Drake is currently being fostered in Santa Monica, California area but can be adopted anywhere as long as you can come to SoCal and drive home. *PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org . Drake's adoption fee is $400*

This baby will melt you with her soulful eyes and happy personality. She’s not sure about cats, since she’s never met them before. She has not had a lot of interactions with other dogs, but has not shown any aggressive tendencies that we’ve seen. These guys are super active, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to join you on your next hike, adventure, or wherever life takes you! Will your heart melt for them this Valentine’s Day?

This is breaking my heart and incredibly hard, but we are looking for a new home for our 6-year-old black lab / blue heeler mix. He is fully up to date on vet care and vaccines. Due to safety concerns, he cannot live with children. He has recently growled and bared his teeth at our 13 month old simply for being nearby. Because of this, he must go to a NO KIDS, NO PETS home. He is reactive toward other dogs, semi trucks, trailers, and garbage trucks. He does best with someone experienced with reactive or working breeds. He loves people and especially bonds strongly with men. He is loyal, smart, and deeply attached once trust is built. He is definitely a velcro dog. We are located in Simi Valley, CA, but are open to nearby areas for the right home. We are hoping for a gradual transition over the next month so he can build a bond and move homes as smoothly as possible. I am hoping someone can give him the love and energy he deserves.
