Story
Teddy is a beautiful, 2 year old, 38 lb. male labradoodle w' a somewhat sad history. 6 months ago he was found by animal control abandoned on the streets of Bakersfield. We have been his guardians since. Teddy is healthy, playful, house-broken, a good eater, not food aggressive, obedient, loves sleeping in his crate, is sweet & craves affection. Has had a lot of training & obeys the basics. Full disclosure: From his trauma, he is afraid of other dogs & can be reactive w' people – nipping & sometimes biting because he is anxious & insecure, but has proven to do great & not have these behavior problems in structured environments i.e. the ranch when we're away & in training sessions. Teddy needs strong leadership & structure; someone willing to work w' him to build his confidence. A patient, experienced dog person with a pack mentality. He has great potential w' the right person. Our amazing trainer Brett Endes, “Dog Savant” has offered to assist in the transition at no charge.

Story
Have you ever heard of a dog being abandoned at a doggie day care? Well, that's my story. I have no idea why, I'm fun, playful, get along with everyone. I'm still a puppy, so I have a lot to learn and I'm probably still growing a bit, but I'm very content to hang out and get cuddles and love, so I hope you'll meet me, fall in love with me, and adopt me. If you are interested in meeting Buttercup, please download the Adoption Questionnaire, fill it out and email it back to us at info@farescue.org or fax (310) 362-0321. You can also meet this and/or other available dogs at our weekend adoptions. [Buttercup is about 8 months old and weighs 25 lbs.] (2512)

Story
*PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org * Drake is loving life in his foster home, but now it’s time for him to find his furever family… We rescued Drake back in 2020. He is a 7 year old pup now and we guess he is a labradoodle mix. He was adopted a few years ago but recently, instead of contacting us to surrender the Drake back to us when they were unable to keep him, the adopter brought him to the shelter. Not only did they bring him to the shelter, they told the shelter to EUTHANIZE HIM!! Why? Because he is reactive/ doesn’t get along with small dogs, something they knew when they adopted him. Thankfully we were notified and able to get him back into our care quickly. He has been doing so well in foster and deserves to finally find the right people. Drake is a big boy (100+ pounds, but does need to lose some weight) and loves cuddles. He greatly enjoys long walks and car rides. He is super smart and food motivated. Drake is a go with the flow dude who just wants people to love. He would be best as the only animal in the home and with people committed to managing his reactivity. He is very easy to redirect with treats and will thrive with the right people. Drake is currently being fostered in Santa Monica, California area but can be adopted anywhere as long as you can come to SoCal and drive home. *PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org . Drake's adoption fee is $400*

Story
Dorito is a lovable powerhouse who’s all heart and all enthusiasm. This big guy is ready to brighten your day with his goofy charm, happy spirit, and full-body tail wags. He has tons of energy and throws himself into life with gusto — sometimes a little too much! Dorito can get overstimulated quickly, so he’ll thrive with someone who can help him take breaks, unwind, and learn to pace himself. If you’re looking for a joyful, larger-than-life companion who loves hard, plays hard, and will be your biggest fan, Dorito is your guy.Learn more about our adoption process.

Story
Two-year-old Polar Bear just might be the cutest pup around. This two-year-old Labrador Retriever mix loves butt scritches, belly rubs, and having his silly ears scratched. He is a HUGE fan of cheese and will solve any food puzzle to get to it!Polar Bear is an active and energetic dog, so it`s important that his future adopter continue to work with him on his leash manners and training cues. He`s a super smart guy (and highly motivated by cheese), so positive-reinforcement training is really fun for him! Polar Bear would be a great companion for outdoor adventures, but he also really benefits from calm enrichment activities such as food puzzles and snuffle mats. He`s a multifaceted guy!I`m available for a 10 day adoption trial!Learn more about our adoption process.

Story
A5739615 Elenor is a beautiful, sweet spayed female Hound/Labrador mix puppy!! She is only 15 weeks and estimated to be about 21 pounds and gets bigger every day!! Elenor has the cutest little “mask” around her eyes, floppy ears, and a beautiful soft copper coat! She arrived at the care center with a brother ( A5739614 Edward ), though they have since separated.  As expected, this gentle spirit is a little reserved at the moment, and loves to be carried by someone with a gentle energy.  Elenor is a very sweet girl who is just really looking forward to a safe and loving home that will allow her to feel safe and come into her own!!     -spayed female, 15 weeks and 21 pounds and growing every day. -Elenor is very sweet, a little timid, and is a little guarded right now- she just really needs to feel loved and safe. -Due to her being a puppy, expect that she will come with some needed training. -Arrived at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11-19-2025   ELENOR’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/WJm   For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit @ Stevehymon Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER.
