Sammy is a loving, affectionate, and cuddly 4-year-old Labradoodle (65 lbs) who bonds closely with her people and loves long walks and time outdoors. She is house trained, listens well, up to date on vaccines, and gets along great with other animals. Sammy has a lot of energy and would thrive with an active owner and a home with more space or ideally a yard. Sammy also has OCD and can become intensely focused on shadows and reflections, which requires patience and an owner who understands and can manage this behavior. She is intersex (hermaphrodite) and we are currently working with the Animal Medical Center in NYC regarding possible spay options. We live in a small Midtown apartment with two young children and sadly cannot give her the space she deserves. Midtown Manhattan — no rehoming fee. Salma has such a wonderful, patient story to tell about starting off as a scared, semi-feral dog that was caught by The Puerto Rico Dog Fund (PRDF) as a TNR and we couldn't let this sweet soul go back to the jungle. So, we kept her, and invested in her development to trust humans, start a routine, intro to new dogs, and learn that life is awesome to share with a two-legged person she loves. Salma loves other dogs, is respectful of cats, is tolerant of kids (although loud or sudden child play makes her nervous), is now leash and recall trained, and is very treat motivated - so she continues to progress nicely. She is quite cautious with new situations / people, but once you earn her trust, she is EXTREMLY loyal (without being protective or scary); she simply wants to be near her "rock" of a person. She is doing AMAZING as we transitioned her from our group shelter area to an individual foster home. Her foster mama, Adi, and her foster brothers Oso and Petey (Petey was also a PRDF dog last year!) are teaching her something new every day - and Salma is reminding those doggie boys how to train and listen, lol! We seriously joked that Foster Adi was sending us "stunt dog videos" of Salma, because we didn't recognize how QUICKLY she progressed as a "home dog" once in Adi's care. Radish was born around August 2021. He weighs about 98 lbs and has a gorgeous white coat with tan, yellow and fawn color markings. His canine DNA test results were Great Pyrenees, mix with Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd. Radish is very loving, cuddly, and loves belly rubs. He enjoys playing with other dogs of all sizes and gets along with cats. He's intelligent, attentive, eager to learn new tricks, and commands and picks them up very quickly. His favorite toy is a stuffed dinosaur, and he loves the water. He doesn't love the crate but does relatively well in it.
