Story
12/22/25 16:32 Shiloh has strong barrier aggression while in shelter. He had a bonded chihuahua that a rescue took several weeks ago, but he has had experience with small dogs and would likley do well again. Shiloh has poor kennel presence and this has increased his length of stay. Needs rescue. 12/03/25What did we do on today’s adventure:I’m always excited to get out of my small kennel. It has been lonely since Squishy, my bonded furry friend got rescued without me. This time I sensed adventure as I am being fitted with harness! I let many human friends try to adjust my harness and in return got treats! I quickly jumped into the car when the back door opened and although I was nervous and anxious during the ride, I welcomed sunshine and crisp cold air when I arrived at the park! I saw a few squirrels and wanted to give chase but my human told me that they are friends and I left them alone. I was so overwhelmed by the new environment that I nervously reacted when I saw cyclists zooming towards me. Runners jogging towards me made menervous as well as I felt they were going to chase me. My human friend noticed this and helped me get pass my big emotions by distracting me or asking the other humans and dogs to give me plenty of space to pass safely. Other than that, I am an adventurer! I loved going down to the cold streams and licking the fresh dew off the green grass. A couple of human friends who walked pass me commented that I was a very cute dog! I wish I could’ve shown them my skills at catching treats thrown mid air and my powerful snuggles! We completed nearly 5 miles of trail adventures and I wish I could go for more soon. What should potential adopters know about me:Shiloh needs help regulating his big feelings when encountering dogs on leash or fast moving (runners, joggers, cyclists) objects. He would strive with calm environment and patience from his people as he learns to feel safe. He was found as stray with a bonded chihuahua who left the shelter so he would benefit from love, patience and structure from experienced dog owners who is willing to work with him.Three words to describe me:Playful, intense, loving

Story
12/03/25What did we do on today’s adventure:Dottie was shy but very sweet when her adventure buddy picked her up. On the way to Hellyer County Park, she was calm and rode beautifully in the car, lying down in the back seat and patiently awaiting her morning adventure. Once they arrived, Dottie immediately began to explore, curious about all the different sounds around her. What really caught her attention were the squirrels! She walks beautifully on a leash, but when she spotted a squirrel, her buddy had to hold on a little tighter—she was captivated! Although Dottie enjoyed the occasional treat during her adventure. She preferred to keep exploring and listening to all the amazing sounds. She wasn’t fazed by bike riders (even electric ones),fishermen, joggers, or walkers along the way. When she saw other dogs, she was excited in a friendly way but maintained a cool, calm demeanor the entire morning. Dottie completed a 4-mile walk all around Hellyer Park. Afterward, she was super cuddly and wanted all the love and pets from her buddy—an absolute sweetheart! On the way back, she was treated to a well-deserved pup cup from Starbucks. Dottie did excellent on her first Tails & Trails adventure! What potential adopters should know:Dottie is the perfect mix of sweet and adventurous. She loves cuddles and attention, making her an affectionate companion. Curious and inquisitive, Dottie enjoys exploring new environments and listening to all the fascinating sounds around her. She’s calm and well-mannered—rides beautifully in the car andwalks nicely on a leash. Dottie is also friendly with others, handling encounters with joggers, bikers, and other dogs like a pro while staying cool and composed. If you’re looking for a loving, active pup who’s ready for adventures and snuggles, Dottie is your girl.Three words to describe me:Curious, Calm and Sweet
