Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $650 Meet Generation AI — The Smartest, Snuggliest Model on the Market Nickname: Genny Breed: Fun-sized Lab mix Weight: Just 29 lbs (Lab 2.0: same love, less shed space) Status: Fully grown and fully fabulous Children: A litter of future tech moguls (puppies named after AI programs, obviously) If you’ve always dreamed of owning a Lab but wished they came in a more compact, apartment-friendly version, let us introduce Genny—a 1-2 year old, low-profile, high-capacity love machine designed for maximum cuddles and minimal square footage. Key Features: Sleeps quietly from 10 PM to 8 AM—no nightly updates required Tail wagging, full-body wiggles, and snuggles with the user every morning Affection 11.0 with built-in full-body wiggle mode Cautious with strangers but warms up fast with cookies and kind words Enthusiastic leash deployment reaction, occasional system lag when startled Personality Download: Genny is still in the beta phase of being a confident social butterfly—she wants to be besties with everyone but occasionally glitches into shy mode. She’ll wag her tail like she’s applying for a full-time friendship position but might retreat when hands come toward her too quickly. That said, she bonded with her foster in under an hour and is slowly learning that not all humans are scary—just the ones who don’t have snacks. She’s not really sure what toys are for (other than interior design enhancements), but she’s got a naturally playful streak that says, “Just wait—I’m going to figure this out, and when I do, it’s game on.” And speaking of games—her dorky, toothy grin and joyful wiggle-dance when she’s happy? Straight-up emotional malware. No firewall can block it. Behavioral Settings: House-trained (with a few anxiety-related crate mishaps when left alone—she does better uncrated) Crate-trained and sleeps like a dream Gets along well with other dogs but can thrive as a solo pup Still learning how to play with toys Extremely food motivated (strong enough to break CAPTCHA) Loves gentle reassurance and affectionate conversation Enjoys chewing, so needs appropriate chew options to redirect her enthusiasm Ideal Home: Genny would thrive in a home that can be patient with her initial download time—once she installs her confidence update, she’s a total sweetheart. Whether you’ve got other dogs or you're running a single-pup household, Genny’s happy to be part of your daily programming. Bonus if you like walks, couch cuddles, and goofy grins. Final Summary: Genny is the future of love, laughter, and loyal companionship—an open-source sweetheart ready for her forever user. She might not know how toys work yet, but she’s got your heart all figured out. Adopt Generation AI: now available in adorable 29-lb package, no subscription required.May 12, 2025, 1:21 pm

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $600 Bacon Bits One part goofball, two parts snugglebug, 100% delicious.   At a sprightly 10 years old (young!), Bacon Bits is proof that the best snacks come with a little seasoning. He’s a classic Yellow Lab with a heart of gold, a wag that won’t quit, and a name that makes everyone smile. Rescued just in time for his golden era, he’s had a full dental (he’s got that fresh breath sparkle!) and is living his best life while waiting for his forever family.   Bacon Bits came in hot—ready to make friends, supervise all human activity, and stake out the best nap spots in the house. He’s since chilled into the perfect housemate: affectionate, polite, and always down for a cuddle or a cozy stretch on the couch. He still gets bursts of playful energy, zipping around the yard like someone yelled “BREAKFAST!”   He’s got a special place in his heart (and on the couch) for All Creatures Great and Small, particularly the canine cameos. If you’ve ever wanted a dog who watches dogs on TV, congratulations—you’ve found your unicorn.   Social by nature, Bacon Bits gets along great with other dogs and has a curious but respectful fascination with cats. He’s been living peacefully with the resident dog, Mac, and would be thrilled to have a pup buddy or just be your main squeeze. He’s also totally kid-approved—gentle, tolerant, and always up for snack patrol under the kitchen table.   He’s house-trained, enjoys leisurely walks, and will happily supervise your workday from a sunbeam. He’s not clingy but does appreciate knowing where you are (especially if snacks are involved).   Bacon Bits is the kind of dog who makes life better just by being around. If you’re looking for a low-drama, high-love pup with a perfectly crispy personality, he’s your guy.   Ready to add a little flavor to your life? Bacon Bits is served.May 13, 2025, 12:35 pm

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $650  Meet the Appetizer Litter – the tastiest little crew you’ll ever love!   These 3-4 month old Black Lab mix puppies are bite-sized bundles of joy, rescued from a field and now ready to serve up some serious love. They may have started off as strays, but these pups are living proof that the best things often come in small (and wiggly) packages.   With two girls and one boy, each pup has their own flavor of fun—but together they’re a platter of pure puppy perfection. They're playful, snuggly, and full of goofy charm. Whether you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, a fetch partner, or just a reason to smile every day, this litter is ready to deliver. And don’t worry—they’re not a package deal. Each one is looking for their own forever family to shine in!   Jalapeño Popper (M): Spicy and sweet, Jalapeño is the life of the party! He’s always the first to bounce after a ball, chase a leaf, or discover something new. His goofy antics will keep you laughing, and his snuggles will melt your heart. Equal parts energy and affection, Jalapeño Popper is ready to add a little zing to your life.   Mozz Sticks (F): Golden on the inside and soft all over, Mozzarella Sticks is pure comfort in puppy form. She’s playful and curious, but it’s her cuddle game that really shines. When she’s not zooming around the yard, she’s melting into your lap like gooey cheese. The perfect mix of gentle and goofy, she’ll stick with you through it all.   Tater Skins (F): Bold, confident, and just the right amount of crispy, Tater Skins is a little firecracker. She’s always at the center of playtime, leading the charge and stealing hearts. She’s the first to grab a toy—and the first to climb in your lap after a long round of backyard sprints. Sassy and snuggly, she’s the best of both worlds.   Labs are known for being loyal, playful, and absolutely devoted to their people—and this crew is no exception. They’re learning the ropes of crate training, working on their house manners, and soaking up all the love they can get. They’re great with other dogs, adore kids, and are up for whatever adventures life has in store—whether that’s a hike in the hills, a nap in the sun, or a road trip with the windows down.   If you’re ready to add a little joy, chaos, and unconditional love to your life, one of these Appetizer pups might just be your perfect match. Because let’s be honest—every good day starts with a great snack.    May 8, 2025, 11:17 pm

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $850 Meet Brewmaster, affectionately known as Chewbacca (or Chewy if you’re friends). This 8 month old, 75-pound Doodle is equal parts goofy sidekick, giant toddler, and Velcro shadow. With his shaggy good looks and a heart as big as his paws, Brewmaster is ready to steal your socks, your heart, and a spot right next to you—always. This guy is still deep in his puppy era. He’s full of curiosity, clumsy affection, and that irresistible brand of mischief that only a big, growing pup can deliver. His favorite game is tug-of-war, and he must have chew toys—because if it squeaks, he’ll love it… and if it squeaks, he will also destroy it in 90 seconds flat. He's mouthy like any oversized baby: he’ll grab at your sleeves, gently latch onto your arm in excitement, and jump up to kiss your face if you let him. But his mouth is soft, and he gives things up easily—especially when you trade up with a treat or another toy. Brewmaster is fully house-trained and doesn’t need long walks to do his business—he’s backyard approved. Inside, he’s a hilarious blend of watchful and relaxed. He’s curious about everything (including your garbage, your socks, and any forgotten takeout containers), so a puppy-proofed home is key. Baby gates are working wonders right now, especially in the kitchen. Shoes beware: one pair of leather sandals didn’t survive the week. He sleeps through the night in the bedroom and will quietly go back to bed if you ignore his early morning face sniffs. He’s been crated when his humans leave, and while he explodes with excitement when they come back, he handles alone time like a champ. He’s also a calm passenger on road trips—though he may bark at bikers or pedestrians on city streets until he gets a little more practice. Walks are still a work in progress. Brewmaster loves the idea of them, but the sights and smells of the world (especially other dogs) can send him into a flurry of pulling and barking. It’s not aggression—he just gets overstimulated. With consistency and the right training, we believe he’ll get there. But right now, he needs a handler with strength and patience. Socially, Brewmaster is a people-pup. He loves guests, greeting them with wiggly enthusiasm, toys in his mouth, and occasional unsolicited arm-hugs. He calms down after a few minutes—but oh, those few minutes are a party. With other dogs, he’s had great backyard play sessions with a well-matched large breed buddy. With time and structure, he may enjoy a dog friend—but he doesn’t need one to thrive. He’s as interested in sticking close to his people. As for kids? Brewmaster lived with them previously and treated them like beloved pack members. That said, he’s a big, excitable boy who doesn’t know his own strength. He may be best suited for a home with older, sturdier children who can handle a little friendly chaos and an occasional flying paw. He’s already learned sit, shake, and lie down, and he’s eager to please—but “stay” is still a mystery. He’s not overly food motivated, but he learns quickly and responds to praise and play. He doesn’t need hours of activity—in fact, he’s surprisingly mellow once you’re settled. If you’re chilling, he’s chilling. He’ll nap at your feet (or on your feet), follow you from room to room, and bring you a slobbery toy while you work. He’s curious about water, unfazed by thunder, and skeptical of the vacuum. He barks when appropriate (he’s an excellent alert dog) but isn’t a constant noisemaker. And while he hasn’t shown any digging or escape behavior, he does show serious determination when a squirrel is involved. In short? Brewmaster is a young, lovable whirlwind of fur, affection, and unrefined potential. He needs someone who gets big dogs, understands the puppy stage, and is ready to keep working on his social skills, leash manners, and boundaries. He’s not perfect—but he is completely worth it. Ready to raise your glass—and your heart—to Brewmaster? He’s ready to meet you.May 2, 2025, 4:29 am
