Story
Coco is a loving, lively, smart and well behaved dog around the age of 7 (she was a rescue, so we don't have exact age). She's a classic mutt. We're pretty confident she has Lab in her and some kind of sheppard. Our kids are getting older and work requires us to be gone too much. Coco is very social and would love to be with a family that is home more, especially if they have another dog. She's a great socializer with most dogs. She loves walks, but does get very excited when she sees another dog, so she'll need to be with someone who has command of the dog walk. We hate to lose her, but want her to enjoy her life more. We are not in a rush; we're looking for the right home.

Story
Aspen is listed as a 3-year-old female Labrador Retriever Mix, she was brought in by a field officer after her owner was arrested. She was never reclaimed and was saved from the euthanasia list in Modesto, ca. She was brought in with 2 cats so she is possibly cat friendly. Aspen presents with toe touching lameness LTL; thickening of the elbow with decreased range of motion and muscle atrophy. X-rays show luxation of the left elbow joint, chronic degenerative changes. So basically, she walks with a limp but doesn’t let it slow her down! Someone forgot to tell Aspen that she has these injuries! Aspen is happy, energetic, runs zoomies around the yard, very people social and dog friendly after slow introductions. She is a sweet girl, who loves being with her people. Aspen would love the chance at a new beginning, maybe this time one that will be able to shower her with love and affection. I don’t know if Aspen will have any medical needs, it is likely that as she ages arthritis will be in her future but as of now – she fly’s like she’s free of pain. ##2483098##

Story
She wants the world to know that she's aware of what's happening - completely cognizant of where she is, and the fate that awaits her. Rona wants you to know that she's terrified in this echo chamber surrounded by incessant barking and the pungent scent of fear. That's why she screamed when staff tried to leash her - it wasn't a warning; rather, it was a cry for help. Guys, Rona needs our help to make a safe exit out of this nightmare existence !! She needs pledges, a long term foster, a rescue, or a patient adopter willing to take a chance on her. Lucy, who we believe may be Rona's mom, is a WONDERFUL DOG and has adjusted EXCEPTIONALLY well in foster care. RONA is a stunning brindle colored, 3 year old, female Labrador Retriever that came into the Orange County shelter on 12/09/2025 after her owner was evicted and left her (and *Lucy - A1764905) behind. The landlord was feeding and giving water to the dogs but said RONA was becoming aggressive towards him. * LUCY came into the shelter on 11/21/2025 and was rescued on 12/10/2025 RONA is nervous at the shelter. She will give low tail wags but then run to the other side of her kennel when the door is opened. She then growls at staff. Shelter Notes: * 12/13/2025 - Lots of lip licking and hard contact with me when I was unlocking kennel door. Was able to leash but very hesitant to come out. Defecated and urinated on the way to new kennel form being very fearful. Body language is concerning and social levels is very low. Does not want to be interacted with or handled. * No notes from 12/13/2025 - 12/17/2025 * 12/17/2025 - Behavior unchanged. * No notes from 12/17/2025 - 12/20/2025 * 12/20/2025 - Visited with Rona at her kennel. When the door was closed she was social acting, tail wagging, soft eyes, taking treats. When the door was open she retreated to the back of the kennel. * 12/20/2025 - Walked dog past kennel. At first she hid in the back. The dog walked away from her kennel and then she snuck forward to the gate to see the dog. When the dog turned back she met the dog nose to nose and she was social with the dog. Per her history she has lived with another large dog. ##2617112##
